QUOTE(alpha_company @ Sep 1 2009, 04:04 PM) which model specifically? the expensive nikon 1224 isnt good as a much cheaper tokina 1116 proving that expensive doesnt necessarily mean better my head & wallet already got sigma's name on it, but now alpha_company mention it.. the pricing is quite tempting.. "The Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X is the best ultrawide zoom available for Nikon DX cameras, better than even Nikon's more expensive 12-24mm AF-S DX. " - http://www.kenrockwell.com/tokina/11-16mm.htm#compare the sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 & tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 is basically the same price? i didnt know this |

my friend's sigma 10-20mm's grip rubber (the one that at zoom ring) already loosen up. its actually we can call it 'tertanggal' already.. but the lens still nothing to worry bout, still can focus perfectly without doubt, the image taken also got no compromise!

QUOTE(alpha_company @ Sep 1 2009, 05:42 PM) From the reviews i've read/seen on the net, these two are recommended : bro, any link regarding the IQ of the tokina 11-16 vs the sigma 10-20?- Nikon AF-S 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF DX - around RM3000 - Tokina AT-X 116 Pro DX 11-16mm - around RM23xx-24xx i dont really take the f2.8 and HSM into account because its an uwa..not tele...but IQ is most important |

QUOTE(Sp00kY @ Sep 1 2009, 08:18 PM) 1 function button only.. the other one is dof preview button, but u can assigned it to other function also.QUOTE(alpha_company @ Sep 1 2009, 11:27 PM) a nice addon but not necessary at that focal range.. the thing that i would really like to see on the tamron 1750 or any other tamron is a high speed motor like Sigma's HSM, Nikon's SWM, Canon's USM or Sony's SSM. or if they want to cut costs, just take out the motor so that users with built in motor bodies like D90 can have faster af with their lenses. QUOTE(Proclaimer @ Sep 2 2009, 01:00 AM) so, its like this? bodies that have built in motor will focus faster with lens without motor? This post has been edited by jsc_tidus: Sep 2 2009, 01:20 AM |

QUOTE(kimurastanley @ Sep 5 2009, 05:05 PM) Hi, every D90 users.. if u got the money, go for D300s.. + if u can handle the weight.. plan to upgrade my D60.. not sure whether D90 or D300.... Do u all think it's worthwhile to spend on the more expensive D300/D300s?? i think if from D60, go for full frame la.. QUOTE(Oxburg @ Sep 5 2009, 05:37 PM) more than enough, but i do weddings too, with D300, never disappoint me.its all depends on how u're comfortable with each camera.. which one give u more comfort, take that one la.. i love my D300 mainly cuz of its speed, weight, and its a rugged camera |

QUOTE(HiroBoroi @ Sep 8 2009, 08:03 AM) Above is post by Matthew Duclos taken from the redforum link I posted earlier. I think "RPPs" means Red Pro Primes (lensses). Check out the prices here. with that price, i rather go for D3X Cheapest prime lens is USD 5950 = 21000 ringgit. Cheapest zoom lens is ISD 8500 = 30000 ringgit. I think I need to see eye doctor oledi. My eyes pop out so many times seeing the prices of all these stuff. |

QUOTE(alpha_company @ Sep 8 2009, 02:36 PM) yeah.. i saw those prices before.. man the RED is some piece of equipment.. if im not mistaken, it can also fit NIKON mount lenses on. they even have their own branded CF cards.. just look at the design of it..it's like those ancient transformers in transformers 2 movie. red can also take much much better hd vids and even better still pics than dslrs..at least that is what they claim.. Added on September 8, 2009, 2:37 pm well..i would rather go for the RED as it is good in both video and still pics..only thing is that it's bigger. Added on September 8, 2009, 6:43 pmit looks like Sony is going to compete with RED.. QUOTE IFA, Berlin, 4-9 sept 2009: the A850 replaces the A900 (you already know that part) (BTW: don't miss Leica announcing the M9 on the last day of the IFA on 9/9/09) CES, Las Vegas, January 7-10 2010: Sony announces the A950. Basically it is a A900 with a 32 Mpix sensor. No video mode. High iso. So this means that Sony keeps 2 FF DSLRs in offer, one at 1500$ street price (MSRP 2000$) and one at 2000$ (MSRP 2500$). Expect a 600mm lens to be announced between january and april. (Side note: this leaves Nikon and Canon to announce a D4 and a 1D mark 4 respectively around march). From this point onwards, Sony communication will be focalized on the soccer World Cup 2010 (in june). Sony was accepted to be one of the only 6 FIFA partners already in 2007, time to get the investment back... NAB, Las Vegas, april 10-15. Sony announces the A1000. This will be a revolutionary camera, basically a DSLR video camera hybrid. Sony wants to use NAB, because this camera is mainly a video camera. Sony feels that RED is eating too much market share from their Cinealta line, so they need a cheaper offer along their more traditional camcorders. Expect the A1000 to look a bit like the RED, costs roughly the same and be able to take 32 MPix pictures while filming in HDV at the same time. Expect a 28-300 lens with SSM (typical video range and SSM is silent, which is important for video). Around the same time, the A2x and A3x line is replaced by smaller, cheaper crop cameras with video. Expect a very cheap A150 without built-in AF motor. Marketingwise, Sony communication will be axed on the FIFA: -a pro SLR with the A950 (*) -a new type of camera with the A1000, perfectly positioned to celebrate the convergence between photo and video on the fields -Sony video pro stands will assist the Sony soccer photographs and videographs -all this so that the typical soccer fan wants to buy a camera of the same brand than the pros: the new A2x-A3x line. (* a photograph which uses a photo camera incapable of video pays less FIFA royalties to be on the spot, that counts on a budget) (Summer: A850 ceases production silently. Camera stays in program until stocks are cleared, just like the A900.) Fotokina, Köln, september 8-10: Sony announces the A5x, to replace the present "5" line. At the same time, a new FF DSLR is announced, the A820. Basically, a A850 with a 32 Mpix sensor and a smaller, plastic body. SD card replaces the CF slot. Video mode, built-in flash, simplified viewfinder. 1500$ MSRP, street price around 1000$ for christmas. The A950 replacement is to be announced at CES 2011. QUOTE(fisherman10 @ Sep 8 2009, 10:47 PM) i've read around and they say that after the new updated firmware for SB900, it doesnt overheat that much in TTL already. but i cant remember specifically what version and you need a d3/d700 to update the firmware. D300 also can update the SB900 firmware maybe nikon SC can do that for free? anyone can confirm this? QUOTE What has been introduced in 5.02 FW : While shooting uninterrupted with your SB900 flash set in i-TTL mode; images received right before firing ceased were prone to be overexposed. This issue has been corrected and also metering precision and # of times the flash fires have been increased as a result With the Speedlight SB-900 set in TTL auto flash mode and used with a camera supporting the Creative Lighting System, the flash mode will auto change to A mode according to camera’s communication status. Previously this flash mode was maintened but has been modified so that TTL-auto-flash mode is restored once the SB 900 again automatically recognized a CLS capable camera.
