Usually I go vacation with my partner, it'll be my DSLR and my tripod and the two of us. I mostly take pics of us for memories. And usually never pics that don't have us inside.

QUOTE(Sp00kY @ Sep 14 2009, 09:14 AM) IINM mAh does affect recharging time...but are u an event shooter? for casual shooter like me, my sony cycle energy is good enough... the recharging time i think is affected by mAh but only for larger flash bursts only. for smaller bursts, can hardly tell the difference. i compared both side by side before purchasing the ones that can hold charge. http://products.sel.sony.com/battery/cycle_energy.php i can shoot more than 1k with sb600 (not full blast of course)...its cheaper than eneeloop.... sp00ky, for me.. already very fast recycle time when at low-burst, so i don't mind.. i'd rather have those that can hold charge... these type of batteries have longer lifetimes as well, IIANM

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 15 2009, 02:20 PM) Yes is due to bad contact, I haven't got mine. Just that I read about complaints like this when I was reading reviews of it. So was just wondering how common it is among D90 users with MB-D80. It could be rough handling.. Maybe they dropped it. It's really hard to imagine how it can spoil when the build is so darn solid. Before I forget, the Internet is still the Internet. Don't believe everything. |

For DSLR, CMOS is always better than CCD in high ISO performance. This is the main reason why Canon was ahead of Nikon years ago for their consumer grade cameras because even low-end Canon DSLRs used CMOS. Now, only the D3000 uses CCD and the D5000 and beyond uses CMOS already (and suprisingly now, for consumer grade, the Nikon CMOS sensors have better performance than Canon CMOS sensors).
For phone cameras or cheapo cameras, probably it is the other way around many years ago, but nowadays even the phone CMOS camera sensors are getting very good already and nobody uses phone CCD camera anymore. This post has been edited by shockk: Sep 17 2009, 04:35 PM |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Sep 17 2009, 04:37 PM) I don't think you can use built in motor on the body for SWM lens. I'm not quite sure about this. No experience on it yet (and don't wish to have one *touch wood*) I believe it is true as well. I can't seem to find a way to turn off the built-in motor inside lenses. I've heard the the body's motor AF is much faster than some lense's motor (not sure how far this is true). |

QUOTE(victor8008 @ Oct 1 2009, 08:59 AM) clean the contact points in ur lens. usually this happens with the kit lens as they have plastic mounts. but personally, I have never encountered such problems before with all the kit lens I have used. I only have to say that it is user fault whereby the user didn't take good care while changing/mounting lens. |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Oct 1 2009, 01:09 PM) Happened to me a few days ago, on/off also same, unplug battery also same. Then decided to release and reattach the lens ok already. Phew, make me panic only Haha. But it is very troublesome of you are covering an event and the problem happens. Anyhow, from what I read in other forums before, the problem only happens with plastic mount kit lens and very rare to happen on metal mount lens. |

18-105mm is enough. maybe u can't really snap those flying sky high. but for those on the ground, taking-off and landing shouldn't be a problem. furthermore, can snap photos of the planes when they are parked and also other stuff.
