thanks! Nope... no filters... can't afford those yet.
I'm a heavy lightroom user, so I just shoot in raw and work on my composition. Once I think I can handle that instinctively, i'll try not to rely on LR and get it right without PPing
here's some food for thought. halfway through my holiday i got sick of taking photos and looking through a lens, and decided to leave the camera in the hotel room for the rest of the trip, and enjoying the sights with my own eyes.
=p i hope none of us here take DSLR's with us if we ever go on a holiday with our partners.
That's my point. i was obsessed and forgot how to simply enjoy sights. everything i saw... i tried hard to figure out angles, composition... it got exhausting.
if im not mistaken, the d90 and d3000 have the same sensor so image quality shouldn't be any different. I've held the d3000 and it's tiny, with less controls. u get what u pay for.
yes, buying a cheaper body will give ur lens budget more breathing room. lenses do make alot of difference anyway, more so than the body most of the time.
its all about priorities. but if u want to keep your body for a long time and improve our gear bsed on lenses, then i'd suggest splurging that 1k more for a d90 instead of a d3000.
Nope. The D3000 is using same sensor as the D60. It is a CCD sensor. The D5000 has the same sensor as the D90 which is CMOS. I think the newer CMOS sensor is the one that has very low noise at high ISOs. Yup, if you can afford it, get the D90. The D5000 is nice but you have this recall problem. You don't know whether all the new D5000 out there have are from the good batch. Nikon is not transparent about bad batch serial numbers.
If you're gonna buy a few lenses in the future, better go for D90 as well as it has the in body motor. Then get the D series lenses. Image quality is same or better than the AF-S/G lenses except you don't have the SWM motor.
ah... am I mistaking this for the D5000? My bad =p
Ya, I got D90!! shutter count not sure, less than 30 I think Definitely much better than D60 in term of handiling and speed However the full functionality and the 'best' are yet to be discovere le just got it, not much chance to use till now
try the video!
the jelly-effect when you're panning sucks but you'll have lotsa fun with it nonetheless

i wud kaw kaw deny that sony is nice ahahah never like sony
au contraire! Sony makes very aesthetically pleasing products. The T-Series laptop line makes the geek in me gush when I see it in the wild. They really know how to design, both visually and ergonomically.
i am thinknig of getting a tokina 11-16 too , but i am not a fan of third party brands and my heart tells me to get the nikon 12-24...i need to try both first.
Time and time again, dslr magazine reviews have shown that third party lenses tend to do better optically, with house brands being better at focus speed (usually) and build quality.
Do u guys know how much is the new nikkor 50mm f1.4 price in the Malaysia market..is it worth it..can someone explain to me what's the diff btwn f1.4 & 1.8.? Which of the two is well recommended?
I have used both. If you get the 1.4 it usually comes with a Silent Wave Motor for smoother focusing. The f/1.4 is 2/3 a stop higher than the 1.8, and can be very much faster (at 1.4, you only need one third of the shutter length by the 1.8 for the same exposure). And of course, more bokeh =p
But 1.4's come at a high price... about 1k. compared to the rm400 for a 1.8.
Purely my opinion.
