QUOTE(zio @ Sep 2 2009, 02:44 PM) I found it harder to find the 67mm Yes it is. El 77mm filter es el standard de facto por todos de la lensas pro del Nikon :)Ironically somebody just mentioned it to me the other day, without even me asking.Shops tend to stock the larger ones. Oh wait, might have gotten it confused. Is 77mm the de facto filter size for Nikon pro grade lenses or is it 72mm? |

QUOTE(alpha_company @ Sep 3 2009, 02:41 PM) SB600... i dont think the SB28 supports iTTL. I owned an 11-16 Tokina months ago. Its great. Then i fell in love with Nikon 12-24 (and hated 11-16 end to end) and i live happily ever after Added on September 3, 2009, 2:44 pmlighter, u got the tokina 11-16..did u compare any other uwa lenses before buying? I thought that bluish purple tint on that yawning lion is natural. This post has been edited by the_tranny: Sep 3 2009, 03:01 PM |

QUOTE(razuryza @ Sep 8 2009, 11:10 PM) the flash still fires.. if not.. how to trigger? it just the flash no so hard.. but.. if u close up, still can get some light from it.. Hihihi yes of course it ACTUALLY fires but not to coincide for exposure alongside with the external one. Its just that "by term", the built-in flash "doesnt fire". |

Which means, strobing has got nothing to do with overheating. Its how one strobes that opens up possibilities of oveheatings. So in the case of flashes, theres no heat buffer. Heat-gate aje yang ada. |

QUOTE(fisherman10 @ Sep 9 2009, 12:21 AM) Hahaha adaaaaa... Gigabyte/Asus ada buat hydro-based heatsink 16valve untuk SB900!! Siap dengan liquid nitrogen tu!kidding!!! Added on September 9, 2009, 12:29 am QUOTE(Isepunye @ Sep 9 2009, 12:21 AM) what do u mean heat buffer and heat gate??? already tingtong hahaha Heat buffer tu tempat pengumpulan haba untuk diuruskan keluar. Heat gate tu konsep yg digunakan untuk bagi warning kat system flash tu bahawa jumlah haba adalah X-j or Y-kiloJ dan supaya flash to buat keputusan untuk off kan diri dia atau tak.now using energizer 1750 mAh... is it ok? Ok je Energizer tu. Tapi Energizer body dia cepat jugak panas (bak kata sorang lagi tranny kawan saya kat KL ari tu! tak tau la ye ke tak.) QUOTE(Isepunye @ Sep 9 2009, 12:34 AM) Hahaha kalau berani dan tak kisah dipandang senget dan serong Just wanna add ... Situation A ======= Exposure Setting A, SB900@TTL - outdoor under the sun Situation B ======= Exposure Setting A, SB900@TTL - indoor in dim light You might be able to burst or shoot continuously with little rest in situation A and not getting overheat at all, but you might get overheat quickly in situation B despite the same exposure setting. Its the flash output. |

QUOTE(jsc_tidus @ Sep 9 2009, 01:07 AM) is it because the flash need to work harder in order to fill the poor lighting condition in situation B? QUOTE(fisherman10 @ Sep 9 2009, 01:15 AM) in A he fire maybe 1/10 adi enough but in B he might need to fire 1/2 to be bright enough and light up the whole scene. There you go So its all about how much power per output the flash uses that results in heat emition and ultimately calls for heat management and bla bla bla .. Not to mention, if you shoot in north pole or sahara So one shooters flash might overheats faster then the other shooter's depending on what, where and how they strobe. |

Haishh .... just an illustration of how environmental factor ie: temperature affects how heat works and managed.
And its flash lah sayang, bukan kameranya. Yang tingtong sangat bawak D90 pergi kutub tu apasal |

QUOTE(blstz @ Sep 9 2009, 06:39 AM) It's funny to see most of the users here have no overheating problem or at least got the problem solved after installing the new firmware. The firmware is just a software level fix in logical calculation of what temperature is deterrmined as "overheat". Its like ... owh i used to only have to score 70 marks tops to get an 'A' now i have to get at least 95 marks to get an 'A'. They just fix the "if X = Y then Y should freak out and yell overheat!!" part of the flash OS.I think it comes down to how much flash power is being used and maybe because there's a temp. limiter function in the SB900, so it makes it like it keeps overheating. I've tried using Canon 580 EX II speedlite, quite happy with the performance. So does the SB900 heats up as fast as the Canon? Im just worried after i get the SB900, end up potong steam only. On another note, just wanna ask, if i use my built in flash as commander, will the working range from my position to the remote flash be less compared to if i use a SB900/600 as commander because it's brighter. Since if i understand correctly, CLS works by sending flash light correct? Thanks Well maybe theres circuitry level fix that Nikon somehow manages to patch through firmware update. But thats like adding another conductive rod to the circuit board via a firmware update Yes. Logically whichever closer to the remote unit is less prone to failure. And the working distance is ever relative by the commanding flash power as well, plus factor of obstructions within that range. By the way, SB600 cannot do Commander. Only SB900/800 can. |
