Hi guys i read somewhere that the male should be older than the female in order to mate? Pls advice since i have a juve male and an older female, planning ahead.

i see.. coz this is 1st time i breed dwarfs previously got syrians.. then i should put them together now am i right? they're currently living side by side inside own cage..

wan2 ask those ppl who bred their hamsters b4...do they give birth in the house (the hamster house) or at the nest they made themselves (not in the house)?

Min's changing colour for some reason.

She used to be cinnamon with beige ears, but the edges were starting to darken into black like a normal hamster!

Not only that, he coat's changing colour too! From cinnamon it's slowly turning into golden from face first. Very subtle at first, but now her butt is so obviously lighter than the face

Her eyes are no longer deep red too, darkening into the normal black eyed hamster. It's like an ang moh baby's hair and eyes darkening with age rofles.

Is it normal?

It really depends on the hamster, some would accept younger males, some just don't like inexperience males. Your female shouldn't be too old, coz it would endanger her life if she breeds.

Syrians are different. The way we breed them is different from dwarfs. If you want to breed dwarfs, put them together. But if you are putting 2 adults together, they may fight. So use neutral ground to test their aggressiveness and if they accept each other, then put in the same cage or tank. Make sure it is washed clean and deodorized.

Depends on the hamster. Some give birth in a hamster house or shelter, some just make a nest using hay and tissue.

2 WW..actually i have only 1 but the Uncle vet so nice to give me 1 to pair my WW...so,i bought a big wired cage..with 3 storey..they seemed to be friendly,sleep together etc3..

JUST NOW!!i mean.Really NOW!!

they are "ehem2" but my female WW keep running from the 3rd storey to the ground floor while the Male WW are above her...is this how they mating??so scary leh..

robo is an active hamster so it wont so "friendly" and let u handle in hand so easily.if u wan hamster which is friendly to u, ww and syrian is good. u should do your research b4 u buy robo.

your female ww will run because she is not willing to mate with the male for some reason. u will stress her only. if u are dont have the knowledge about this, pls dun mate them first, ok? when u bought them and how old are them? is them reach the age for mate? saperate them in diferrent cage and, check is they are sibling or not since they are from the same petshop.

AGAIN, hope u can do more research about hamster.

well,actually.the hamster is already like..4-5 month and they are not sibling for sure because i get my female WW from my friend.i bring my female and male WW to my nearest vet to make sure that they are fine and can mate already.i do make research before buy.i know that they are really active etc3..i just want to try new experience.they had been together like 1month together. sleeping together,play wheel together.. etc3...

erm..how do you guys that the female are already pregnant??

erm...guys...anyone got video hamster giving birth??i need KNOWLEDGE..i searched in youtube but all of the video only show the hamster already give birth...

err... u do not need to see how the mama ww give birth @.@

the mama won't feel comfortable as well... just leave her alone when she gives birth... she will be able to take care everything...

less disturb to her is better...so you actually stress her less and give her more space as well

Well... if she is pregnant...just provide her more nutrient foods...dog biscuits...chicken meats...water(very important)...

And remembered covered the whole cage with newspaper or cardboard for 2weeks after birth...

minimal disturbance like sound...movement...

only disturb her when add foods and water for her everyday...

pregnancy for WWs around 18-21days after mating de... then after birth 10-12days baby WWs will be able to open eyes and around 14days able to start eat solid foods de... usually I put soak bread with water at 10days after birth de

Dates is high in sugar content,not recommended
