Hey people, can you believe that after I had gone for the sinusitis surgery and 7 to 8 times of hospital referral after the surgery, but until today, the problems of my sinusitis still remaining at least 95%...!!! Is this sound very ridiculous??

I was facing a very serious nose problem since so many years ago. One day, I found that I have had enough for this, because of my life and works were really been effected by this problem, so I decided to go to see the specialist, then I came to this so-called “ENT specialist” DR ONG CHUN CHIANG clinic.

This doctor said I got a very serious sinusitis and suggested me gone for the surgery. I was agreed. However, he never done the CT scans for me before the surgery. So without the CT scan, how can he clean up the secretions inside of my nasal cavity correctly??

A week after the surgery, I went back for hospital referral, some questions I asked and the answer was given by him were really make me frustrated, and he keep giving (actually I need to pay) me the medicine, even though I have not finished yet. Every time I went back to hospital referral, I have to pay RM180 to RM200 that was not cheap, ok??!!

When I found that was something with this so called “Specialist doctor”,  I went to see  another 2 ENT specialist doctor , after talking with them, and done the CT scans by of  them, it  made me more confident in believing that it was really something wrong with the 1st “specialist doctor”.!! I was really get shocked after seeing and listened from the doctor about my result of CT scans.

Brought my 17 wk pregnant wife to see mr Gan tong née at Sunway hospital. She is suffering daily headache and sinus pain.

During the first visit she was given antibiotics and some nasal spray for a week as he said that there are some sinus infection. During that week, she was fine for about 3 days and then all the symptoms came back. After a week, brought her back to mr Gan tong née again as she is still having the same issue. He then gave her Rhinocort Aqua nasal spray and ask her to use daily for two weeks. Today as I'm writing this, she is on that nasal spray for 1 week now and she is still suffering from headache and sinus pain.

Overall mr gan tong nee is a friendly and nice doctor but am not sure about his treatment. From what i read above, it seems that he likes to recommend his patients to do operation and at most time from what i read above, doesn't treat the problem.

sigh.... Heart Pain,  seeing my wife still suffering everyday. I tried all sorts of other remedies, bought a sharp plasmacluster ion generator, using tea tree oil, switch off air conditioner, humidify that room and still no cure or relief. Sigh...She is now trying to use probiotics in her neti pot as well. 2 days now... Hope this remedies recommended by some sufferer online will cure her.. Might bring her to seek for second opinion if she doesn't feel better in the next few days... Maybe will try dr Khor at Jalan Pudu..

My good friend also recommend Dr Gan Tong Nee for my sinus issue but after i saw your report on Dr Gan, i think i have to think twice.  haha..

How is your wife condition now?  I heard that sinus caused by nasal parasites and there is a very famous chinese dr from Bukit Mertajam can  cure the nose blocked and sinus issue.

I went there before, tried once and I dont believe about the worms he show me...
The treatment just to keep blowing....

Dr Khor is pretty "low grade", he nearly killed me.. i suffered from a serious tonsilitis that cause me alot of pain, and cant eat, cant sleep, cant drink, and he gave me tons of panadols and some antibiotic, RM230, later.. i hospitalised due to this..

I had the exact same symptom as above but I recovered after I've been to Dr Khor whereas the GP failed me. Was sick for a week until I visited Dr Khor.

A little bit of Dr Khor from my viewpoint:
He is good.
I went to him because I was suffering from fever and very painful sore throat for a prolonged time - about a week. Seen a GP but wasn't recovering.
Somewhat from hearing me speak only, he is able to diagnosed my problem is with my nose then only he prompt me to the endoscope and CT scan. That brief moment I was trying to tell him my symptoms but I don't think he's taking in what I'm saying also.

The way he talk does give a streak of impatience or lansi but not impolite.
I don't know how to describe it.
Maybe it is just the way he communicates, direct and straight but not with proper connecting sequence.
Imagine hearing that you need an operation to cure your sickness after diagnosis without first knowing what is wrong, why it happens and why requires operation.. these kind of sequence is missing.

I planned to visit Dr. Koh Tat Ngee from Gleneagles soon. It is not that I don't trust Dr. Khor but it is what people always said to look for 2nd opinions. After all, Dr. Khor wanna cut me up which is no small matter of taking medicine only.

Anyone can share something about Dr. Koh Tat Ngee?

That's odd, he always explain to me thoroughly whenever I visit him for my sinusitis problem

Dr Malina (ENT Specialist) from Tropicana MC any good?

Any experience with her? I am due for a surgery next Friday, also to ask, if I should go for second opinion?

i did surgery under Dr Bala from TMC 6 months back for sinus problem, it went well so far.

i had a swollen lymph node on the right side of my neck which lead to a visible giant swell on the neck and been dragging the problem for 2 months +.

so i went to consult Dr Paul Lim in Sunway (recommended by both recommendations i received and couldnt see any bad comments about him online.)

he is nice and humble. he was able to diagnose my problem accurately (which is same with scan & lab test results i had later) by merely touching and some scoping in my nose.

the problem solved after a minor surgery by him.

try not to mention about consumption traditional medicine to him. i did consume and did tell him about it. he was not scolding or angry but he frequently advice me to stop consuming traditional medicines and pimples on my were due to consumpion of traditional meds lol.

I just want to share my experience with my favorite ENTs.

His name is Dr Hj Md Husain Said. And yes if you look up in medeguide.com his name will come out first on the list. Since he works solely in SJMC the fees would be very expensive, but it's really worth a shot. He's very friendly and gives me a lot of explanation about my health conditions.

I had tonsillectomy, turbinate reduction and balloon maxillary sinuplasty and septoplasty on 2012. I was charged MYR27,384.03.

I also found that early this year that I had a severe right sphenoidal sinusitis. Again, he has assured me that he has been performing numerous balloon sphenoidal sinuplasty. I'll be having my second surgery this 30th of Jan. It will be going to cost me around 20k. But I don't mind because he's Dr Md Husain. 

Damn.I went to dr.khor today.It was quite an unpleasant experience.
I got scolded for being in pain .He is too straight forward and he stares the heck out of ur eyes when he is talking to u.He seems to have more potential to be a lawyer than being a specialist.
So this is what i asked him and how he answered me back:

ME:Why cant we close the curtain?
Dr. Khor: No you cant.
