yes, seem like experienced, ego....

honestly, wat he said is quite make sense.

"if the pantai operation really works, u wont come to c me".
*
He is very egoistic but I gotta say, he knows his stuff.
I used to be his patient for years cuz of my sinus and I had 2 operations done by hm. One to remove my sinus cuz it was causing me a lot of problems like sickness and stuff and the other to chisel my nose as the pathway collapsed due to getting hit at the right angle and sufficient force to break it. Best parties, he didn't even put me to sleep cuz my resisttance to anesthetic is rather high but he did put anesthetic to umb my nose before chiseling away and I felt awesome after the op was completed.

It was done the second time because some subpar ent from assunta performed a pathetic operation on my nose and it collapsed again.

I recommend both dr khor and dr koay from sunway, my current ent doctor but bear in mind he's also arrogant and does not explain much.

Dr koay costs more and best u make appointment before visiting his clinic

I just went to sunway dr.koay, his explanation is exactly same with dr.khor (pudu). mean the shit pantai ent didnt completely cut the affected area and didnt correct the position of my nasal septum.

i was wondering which dr. should i stick with. dr. koay or dr. khor?

any1 can help?

I had relatives who underwent surgery from dr khor and it seems fine.

Dr khor is definitely cheaper but if money is not a problem to you, go for dr koay from sunway, if u want a better in terms of attitue or humble doctor, go for dr koay from sunway's brother who is also an ENT in gleneagle. More costly of course

U can consult dr khor on this matter. He seems to be willing to help when it comes to matters like this.

Koay seems to be in a rush all the time

Another specialist is
Dr.Ng Peng Chua
35A,Jalan 14/20
46100 Petaling Jaya
Tel:79576181

My cough already about 1 month but cant recover especially midnight & so go to seek for specialist.

I felt his explaination quite ok but the fee really DAMN Expensive!!

RM125 - consultation fee ( as the Nurse told )
RM130 - spray & put 1 instrument inside my nose to check
RM75  - medicine
So total RM330, i thought medical center only will charge high.
Luckily i bring enough money because there only can pay cash.

Suddenly felt @_@ cause unexpected so high of charges even jz a small upstair clinic...hope the medicine really can cure my problems.
*
125 is ridiculously expensive and 've mv heard of him. I rather visit dr koay, either one of the bro

First visit for me was RM252.70. This includes medication.

sometimes cost me more than 400 depending on what kind of sickness.
everytime i go there sure use the scope which costs a bomb for nothing cuz few years back in my blood test they detected something that indicates cancer cells in my nose and from then on QCB kept using the scope to check if there's any tumors growing.

it isn't necessary anymore çuz it costs like 80 bucks or so each time sad.gif

Hi Cedriccheah,

I saw your post and your experience on the FESS and its complications after that. I went to Dr. Gan also recently, in fact, just last week, when my nose was bleeding for about a month and did not heal after seeing a GP, so I went to Dr. Gan in Sunway. Went for a follow up this week with Dr. Gan, the bleeding was healed and he asked me if i want to do a full Sinus Scan to see if my Sinus is ok...

So I agreed since I always have this sinus problems with my sensitive nose and i thought it would be good also to find out.

Scan was alright as there was no tumour or something like that, but bad news was my sinus was clogged/narrow and I had quite a big POLYPS on my right side of my sinus. So, to make the story short, Dr. Gan advised me to go for FESS (Functional endoscopic sinus surgery) to take out the Polyps and also to test and see if the polyps type, worry it is Iverted Papilloma which may cause cancer in the future.

My question is, since you have experience on the FESS and had complications, I was worried also. I do not mind going for FESS if that will solve some issues, but do you think I should check with Columbia hospital before going for the FESS? What should I check with Columbia?

Most importantly, how are you feeling right now after all the hassle with FESS (2 times) and 3 Specialist in Columbia? Do you feel totally alright now or any complications still now?

Hope to hear from you soon.
*
I had POLYPS 2 months back and in between of my nose and cheek was hurting very badly and one of my eyes too till i had to close the eye to lessen the pain. it was swelling hence it blocked my nostrils too

I did not have surgery but instead I took an injection and meds to lessen the swelling. From what I've learned it is not necessary to remove it unless it occurs too frequently.

Dr Khor and Dr koay, they're different doctors and i recommend both of them.

Dr Khor has his own clinic at jln pudu nearby tung shin and i had 2 operations done by him and it costs alot cheaper compared to dr koay, maybe due to the fact he has his own clinic instead of leasing from an expensive hospital. Read my posts earlier on my experience on failed operation from assunta.

Dr Koay is from Sunway hospital, fees are expensive but not as ridiculous as Pantai. meds costs more than Dr Khor too. hospital rates

Dr Khor contact number 0320783055

SO Dr Khor will do operation at tungshin hospital?
Tung shin hospital accept medical card or not?

minor ones will be done in his clinic, he has an OT upstairs, otherwise it will be done in tung shin. he uses the hospital's facilities as well.

of course he accepts medical card but it also depends on the illnesses.

Ya,this operation is cut the swallow part on my trachea. But this is not normal case . My case is caused by carelessness of GH. I wearing a tracheostomy now. (google plz )

Dr khor suggest me not to do this operation becuz lot of ppl fail,he jz ask me keep wearing tracheostomy whole life n i m  jz 20yrs old.

Very confused now la. Another Dr told me he can do this cause normal ppl can cut their trachea up to 7cm and my swallow part jz 3~4cm only. Dont know want to take whose opinion?!?!?!
*
Maybe the doc wants ur money and ur be one of his another subject to practice his skills on?
If the op failed, ur screwed for life as well

am having sinus all my life, it never a problem but until recently...and now i'm struggling here to look for surgeon, having sibeh sharp headache, along the vertical line from nose bridge till forehead middle....had been started since few years back but it was mild then, just headache then nauseous, all normal physicians jest end up asking me issit i'm pregnant...damnit...and then happen again and again, all can't find out what happen and even one refer me to neurologist?? now beh tahan liow, only can subside after strong painkiller, if not whole day whole nite holding my head.

been to dr.koay when was 15, instead of treating my nose, i got my onsil removed, no doubt he's a friendly doctor, but think back like suddenly my parents fork out thousand just to remove something(nothing?)....now scare to go private sector...cos i know anything they wanna cut u open.
*
That depends, I too had my sinus removed but I had to as it was giving me alot of problems. At first Dr.Khor suggested that i should remove it and the problems will be gone and i refused as I am afraid of operation. Nearly every 2 months I had to visit the ENT due to various problems and in the end I gave in and had my sinus removed. Heck, I have never felt better and all the problems were gone for a couple of years. Dr Khor performed the operation on me and his fees were very reasonable like 2k-2.5 only.

If it were done by dr koay, it will cost alot more.

the 2k-2.5k that was paid for the operation was worth it as i saved on the amount of times i have to visit the ENT to get myself treatment and the time wasted on travelling.

I would suggest Dr Khor as the price is not expensive at all for an ENT and he is good.

Dr Khor the BEST if you ask me! My whole family being his patient for years. He just plain straight "tell you straight in your face the issue and problem (no sweet talking or sugar coat even terminal case)"
i always get lecture by him > windows close >poor room ventilation> go swimming> always on Air cond but he friendly after all.
*
haha u too? i too always get lectured by him but in the end i followed his advise.
I no longer swim and have a better ventilation in my room and I vacuum my room entirely and it did help my sinus by alot.

Dr khor...the same row as tung shin? If i m not mistaken, i saw him before dr koay. Yes he was kinda straight forward n somehow tak bertapis abit. I remember he told my mum that my nose is senget...with a pen he poke n point my nose while explaining to my mum. I was like wtf?!! That time still primary school but his action made me dun wanna go back to see him again. Only after few years my mum beh tahan i sneeze so much and brought me to koay.
*
Yeah that was him a few years back, kinda arrogant I'd say and I too went through it but seems like he's a different person now but still a good doctor.
QUOTE(BobbiBites @ Jan 29 2013, 07:40 PM)
Actually can any of u tell me ur condition after removing the sinus. I heard from most oeople that u will still continue to have runny nose but this time u got nothing block it...so bili beleh all the hingus down right? Then one of my fren told me she felt worst now. And after her operation...she was in pain so much that she cant even blink her eyes. Then after 10days they sorta removed a gauze tampon like deep from her nostril n she was bleeding nonstop. Scary leh
*
Fr me when the sinus is inflammed, mucus will start running down my nose on stop and all kind of funny sickness appears out of no where. I remembered the last problem i had before agreeing to remove the sinus was, I woke up from sleep cuz I felt a sharp pain on my eardrum but when I sit up straight the pain is gone but when I try to lie down the pain came back again. Had to go through the entire night sitting up straight till his clinic opens and that was a torture
