thanks,

from the understanding,
say a 50GB file
and if remove certain audio languages, subs, extras... the file will be lesser (say 25GB) ... rite,

in that case the Remux version and the Ori BD vesrion for AQ & PQ shud be more or less identical (+- few % tolerance)
is that rite....

mucho gracias

For us..main reason to remux is not for space saving, but to make it easier for budget media player to play those 'hard to play' movies.
ar118 has a point there.

But Remux meaning for an Encoder is different...those movies encoders uses it to add subtitles, add/remove HD audio, extract video from Bluray for VC-1...the meaning very wide.

Remux short form for Re multiplexing...meaning demux first, then remux it back...but ppl seldom use the word demux

What the whole process does is actually separate the video, audio, sub etc from the Video file. Then you can choose which language you need and what subs to add it, attach or take out...after that, mux it back together to make it into the Video file again.
But nowadays it does not only do that, there are many other features added in into the Remux software...example is changing variable bitrates, adding chapters, change audio etc.

Some of the popular Remux software:

etc

ah! you see, if BD was ripped to ISO.. and your player can play it there is no reason to remux.. hence if player is good, then no point to remux.. keep it original thumbup.gif biggrin.gif unless you planning to make own director cut edition..

http://www.acryan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=101&t=3972

Hey guys and gals,

Our very first firmware release based on the Mini is out, it is also based on SDK 3.0, so a couple of changes have been implemented.

Asian: http://www.acryan.com/downloads/PV73200/Fi...r2956_Asian.zip

European: http://www.acryan.com/downloads/PV73200/Fi...56_European.zip

Change log will follow, Eugene hasn't had the time to get me a change log yet. Bear with us. biggrin.gif

haha..I know all this cause I own a crap sarotech....need to remux most of the time to remove second audio and stabilize the bitrates..
If not hang, audio cutout etc...

But nowadays I see that most encoders are keeping below 9gb for most new movies...meaning more friendly to the budget media players.

YAMJ (Yet another Movie Jukebox). It is a GUI interface which better organise the media files complete with Pics and all. Something like moving from DOS to Windows interface. It will make the POHD or other Media players have a more classy feel.

Good to hear that the AC Ryan team is working directly with the Creators of YAMJ to get the YAMJ on the POHD.

Take a look at this post (No. 2048) for an idea of what it look like :-

One question here, if we dl those HD source quoted with "IMAX", is it a 3D version HD movie? Do we need the special 3D spec in order to enjoy the 3D effects? Plz correct me if I'm wrong

IMAX is just a High Resolution format for movies created by IMAX Corp. It can be 2D or 3D. Not necessary must be 3D.

Berjaya Times Square Theatre used to screen IMAX movies (Mostly 3D) but now they are just mostly screening normal resolution Movies enlarged on their BIG screen. Take note that these screenings are not IMAX movies and when enlarged on the BIG Screen they become worse quality than Normal Cineplex standard.
