my desk is very small actually....something like from the edge of the monitor (left side) to the mouse pad or first IPod shuffle. i intend to put my mbp on the bed or somewhere, since i got another drawing tablet.

haha, this is actually a big headache for me. what to do, my room is so small, i cant fit a bigger table anymore. :| unless i remove my bed n sleep on the floor.

u can set it using the power management la,so u can close it while running on the LCD.but my concern is,the gap between the keyboard also helps in heat dissipation.if u close it,where will the heat goes? plus,i'm not sure for MBP,as i'm using a MB, and the resolution is 1280x800.that size won't fit the big LCD screen.i think big lcd uses 1600x something rite?

Why don't you try to put your MBP standing vertically. Please don't put on your bed, it will generate more heat.

For Screen Resolution, Yes, it will auto resize.

One question, might be off topic for abit, but iam looking for specks transparent plastic cover the other day, but machines have those for the older MBPs. Is the speck cover for the early 2009 13" out yet?

no.. its due to the nature of aluminum

although unibody macbooks are sturdy and strong, its also at the same time delicate

nothing can stop it from warping.. it's due to nature. some apple will replace, some they wont coz it's still within their 'tech specs' (read about this in macrumors)

its more on how you hold it or carry it, as u know.. aluminum does not usually react well under pressure, it does not flex like plastic or other composites does and returns to normal.. when it bends it bends, it cannot unbend back

even a simple act like putting into sleeve and taking it out can also cause warping

for me i recommend getting the screen protector, i got the matte surface one so it helps reduce the glare and glossy-ness too.. i would also recommend getting a trackpad protector so the trackpad wouldn't get stained..
