i cant recall but i read sumwhere that the unibody macbooks (and pros) and the new ipods with mic support uses a different kind of headphone port. instead of just two 'rings' for left n right channel, they have three...the extra one for the mic. somehow this port is slightly loose than normal. when plugging in my headphone to my mbp, i also have to adjust the jack sometimes to get it to sound right. i didnt have to when i plug it into my 1st gen ipod touch (old port, no mic) and also my previous 2006 mbp.

I just tried with my iPhone earphone + Mic and it's works. it detected as "Headphones with Built-In External Mic" while the internal it's disable. here is the picture.

When I 1st got my 1st 13" MBP, I got a stuck pixel, even apps also can't fix it. Ended up calling the shop and Applecare. but I got replacement after 1-2 weeks due to no stock.

My suggestion is why don't go back and try to ask for exchange/fix?

i bought my mighty mouse from ebay US with warranty.. and cheaper price too, since it was bidding. it make me laugh because the mouse was assembled in Malaysia. what other apple product is assembled here anyway?

Why don't you try to put your MBP standing vertically. Please don't put on your bed, it will generate more heat.

For Screen Resolution, Yes, it will auto resize.

I think you should try editing batch of photos using iPhoto and you will face the same problem.
