maybe ur external hdd is in ntfs format. By considering ur problem is ur external hdd is in ntfs, you have two choice then. 1. reformat your external hdd to fat32 filesystem. (you will lose your current data in your external hdd) 2. download "ntfs-3g" for mac. Here (can just copy like usual) This post has been edited by aizad02: Aug 5 2009, 02:11 PM

just an add up to shoguniphicus reply. IMO, if u're into designing and printing it's better to get an imac.but if mobility is ur big concern, perhaps a 13" would be better, coz for 15" the prob is,first the weight.second is the size itself.if u're looking to use a dual screen with an lcd screen, what's important is the max resolution ur mac can go to.that will determine the quality of the picture on the lcd later on.btw, my personal opinion,9400m already enuff for normal use, unless u're going to use ur mac for video editting, then will u need the 9600gt.

QUOTE(daydreaming @ Aug 18 2009, 09:48 AM) guys, 1 question here. the macbook pro, can we actually close it and project it using lcd as shown in the pic below? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « my desk is very small actually....something like from the edge of the monitor (left side) to the mouse pad or first IPod shuffle. i intend to put my mbp on the bed or somewhere, since i got another drawing tablet. haha, this is actually a big headache for me. what to do, my room is so small, i cant fit a bigger table anymore. :| unless i remove my bed n sleep on the floor. u can set it using the power management la,so u can close it while running on the LCD.but my concern is,the gap between the keyboard also helps in heat dissipation.if u close it,where will the heat goes? plus,i'm not sure for MBP,as i'm using a MB, and the resolution is 1280x800.that size won't fit the big LCD screen.i think big lcd uses 1600x something rite?

for the casing, i would highly recommend to use the hardshell one instead of the soft build type. This's due to our MB's aluminium, the casing will help to avoid bending of the aluminium. Just be extra cautious when taking out the casing, as there're cases which it will scratch our mb.

QUOTE(ginolo @ Sep 8 2009, 05:04 PM) Issit? how bend? tot soft casing is better because when remove, there will be no worries. that's the good part of soft casing. but, there're also cases where the aluminium bends..the casing itself, it's the nature of aluminium, easily bends. IMO, the hard casing would help the machine to keep intact.
