Even if you closed it, the voltage is still applied until you restart. If you forgot about the stock value, there is several profile with stock values, just load other than what you use (usually Profile1)

sound driver i think if use win 7, u can use the driver from win 7 means win 7 already had driver for it, or u can update ur driver to the latest version 6.50, try search for vt1708s, for sleep mode, me also have problem with it, cannot wake up,

I don't think its related to graphics driver or any sort.

If you don't have problems I suggest you don't update the BIOS. Its noot hard, download the latest BIOS, put it to your thumbdrive and go to BIOS and start EasyFlash

i can confirm that by updating Vista completely, my brightness control with the AMD/ATi drivers problem has been solved. now can change brightness w/o having to restart.

Ok. Something weird happened.
I was testing the laptop sleep function after updating Vista, and it seems to work perfectly now! and I can wake-up the laptop without any screen blank issue.
but after I did that, my laptop now runs with the fan at quite high speed (like when the laptop usually starts up).
now i get a noisier laptop but my temp in air-conditioned room is now 36 deg (idle). biggrin.gif

problem is now, I tried turning the laptop off and on, and restarting, but the fan speed is still the same. so it seems to be some software issue perhaps. hmm.gif
