If you have a Nike+ sportsband, you dont need an iPod. iPod is only needed if you're buying the cheaper Nike+ sportskit.

Seem to be among the cheapest running watches out there, just did a google. But I guess I should get shoes first. My knees hurt a little already...I run almost everyday nowadays. Saw the Adidas Cumulus for about rm180. But still gotta save up for it. Oh I'm 27 but am still studying lol, in case u guys are wondering y this 27 yr old cannot afford a pair of shoes haha. Doing my postgrad in UPM. |

Doing my postgrad in UPM. but i tink over time, this thread(and the previous version) has seen some comments nt to the advantage of timex watches the basic ones from suunto, polar, garmin aren't too pricy and can relay loads of info.. if you talking abt ones without heart rate, calories burned etc. you may want to consider g -shock, less than RM200 and its realli durable i had one and i didn't hv to change even the batt in 5 yrs, its of coz KO -ed now |

QUOTE(strinq @ Oct 12 2009, 02:50 PM) What about the timex ironman series? Timex is my favorite watch. Currently I have 4 of them (I've used a total of 6 Timex watches). But the question U shud ask Urself is what feature U want from a sportswatch. Only the Timex HRM models is equipped with the footpod U need to measure distance. & I haven't seen any store in Malaysia that sells the Timex with the footpod. Seem to be among the cheapest running watches out there, just did a google. Before I purchased my Polar RS300x SD (last Friday, from Phoenix), I was using Timex Fitness HRM. Coming from a renowned sportswatch manufacturer, the watch feature is all there (1/100th stopwatch, 23 lap memory, etc), but the HRM feature is a bit lacking. & even though U can replace the heart rate transmitter battery Urself, it began to give out erratic heart rate reading after U changed it (well, at least in my case). If U need just a watch to store lap time, any digital chronograph will do la. Maybe with Timex U can store more lap times. But if U need a watch that can measure distance as well, then U're gonna need something else. One of the model U can search for is the Ironman Triathlon Bodylink. But basically, U need a footpod or a pedometer to measure distance. |

hmm i guess a nomal watch with lap times would be sufficient. Or i'll use my handphone for now lol. Thought of getting something to measure distance so that I can just hantam run anywhere instead of round and round a track. K shoes first, girls hp numbers and then some...
Added on October 12, 2009, 5:31 pmOk, off to my run in about 15 minutes. Should be heading for the UPM track today. If you see a chinese guy in specs with red shirt and red shorts and red/white shoes its me. Added on October 12, 2009, 7:15 pmJust came back and I really timed myself this time. 27min 15sec for the 5K. Ran like a madman at the last 400m, is it advisable to do so? Darn...the uni track is way easier to run and my knees don't hurt as much. I'm imagining the comfort of well cushioned shoes...ah well... Hmmm, been searching online but can't seem to find what is a good time for the 5K. Anyone? This post has been edited by strinq: Oct 12 2009, 07:15 PM |

Wait...18min is very fast...the Malaysian record for women is 16min 18secs..
Do you run for your school or something last time? Added on October 12, 2009, 7:42 pmhuh...? mud hill 5km at 18mins?... Malaysian record at the track is 16mon 18secs. Road should be a little bit more. Hilly muddy area at 18min means u must be at least a state runner I think. This post has been edited by strinq: Oct 12 2009, 07:42 PM |
