QUOTE(munky @ Sep 29 2009, 11:19 PM) aiseh. Damn expensive la if i use gprs/edge/3g. Nvm and thanx anyway for the quick reply. Will think bout other ways Well if you're already a Maxis subscriber you can pick one of its Maxis 3G bolt-on plans. There's a 500MB monthly plan going for RM58. If you're not a subscriber you can pick one of its Value Plus plans at minimum RM30/month. At most you're paying some RM8 or more extra depending how you mix and match.

QUOTE(Blast_Cyrus @ Sep 30 2009, 12:48 AM) even i switched off wifi, but once i switch safari on I still can on9. how do I disable that? Basically you can't. The iPhone is designed to be an internet always connected device. However, if you want to disable this functionality there's a procedure to do this (but I am not sure if it still applies for current models or OS version). Check the stickies in this forum.

@Blast_Cyrus, To completely disable GPRS/EDGE/3G, you will need to disable APN. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/868281/+4

QUOTE(Secret Choong @ Sep 27 2009, 03:05 PM) yeah, it's to any network, but if you call to Localfone, like Dominos, McD, those numbers like 1300131300, those they will charge. Hi, I'd just like to clarify on this, I just called the hotline and they told me the 333 minutes is only for Maxis numbers? (I'm very confused). So which one is it? If I call someone who is on Digi, is that covered by the 333 minutes? Thanks for any info This post has been edited by tnsai: Oct 5 2009, 04:07 PM

Exactly. It's recommended to get a principal package + iData2 plan instead if you make a lot of calls or sms to other networks.

Getting Started

|
Hello All, I bought an iPhone 3GS at Hongkong and now in Toronto. I signed up for the data plan and all works well. Now when I go back to Malaysia, can I just sign up for the iData for 500MB? Or do i need to sign a contract with Maxis? I dont want any contract so what is my best option? I'm also contemplating getting a BB bold but the data plan for the Bold is quite expensive ($55 for 10MB) compare to iPhone ($30 for 500MB). So the question is, can i sign up for the iData plan without signing any contract with Maxis? And can i bundle the iData plan with my corpate voice plan? Thanks, PS. If you have Ping! you can ping me at jonhong, since I'm not always on this forum. This post has been edited by jon_jai: Oct 6 2009, 02:18 AM

@jon_jai, Yes U can sign onto a Monthly Pass plan without any contract and that can be added on to your corporate voice plan. Also, we have another dedicated thread for Ping! but anyhow I've Ping! you - just don't know if it's too "early" in your part of the world This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Oct 6 2009, 11:32 AM
