Guys, I am still confused about the free local calls subject for Value Plan 1 (RM 100 = Gives 337 free minutes). If I exceed the free quota allocated, I will be charge 15 cents/min. However, these additional charges applies after the RM 100 or they only start counting after you used up the free minutes allocated? For example, for this particular month I would used up to 700 minutes, do the extra charges is RM 54.45 cents. Do I have to pay RM 154.45 cents or RM 100 (Since I use below the commitment rate)?

And how do 500mb worth of free data fare well with everyday usage of MSN and google talk? Is it feasible? hmm.gif

Oh by the way can I subscribe to value plus? (The one that gives 8 cents/min and 1 cent/sms to 8 favorite Maxis numbers)

so i would like to suggest value plan 50 + idata2 = RM100.

Reason: Cheaper call rate n bundled with sms too, even though the revised ivalue also includes sms but i think its only for maxis to maxis
*
Hmm why do you suggest this? Value Plan 50 seems to be having a more expensive calling rate to other network which is at 18 cents per minute. Unless of course, Value Plan 1 from iphone deal (15 cents) is only for Maxis to Maxis rate. sweat.gif

Just a question, can I subscribe to Value extra if I were to use Ivalue Plan instead of Value Plus?

hmm.. actually i was planing to get a iphone 3gs from maxis as well but i was wondering can i just get 1 month idata 1 and purchase a iphone separately? since
**idata plan can be purchase separately iphone will be rpp price

because i asked maxis staff they told me can't buy prepaid plan iphone ad since it is cut off by maxis.. so i was wondering this idea can be use?

besides this, idata 1 iphone can use installment?
*
It is the same as prepaid plans. Outright purchases are not available until further notice because there has been a surge in demand for Iphone from contract customers. Maxis have to make ways to put contract customers priority first before they start selling it to prepaid and idata1 customers. smile.gif

no need periodic sms la, just one is enough to say today is a new month. even Digi give you an sms after every call to let you know how much was the last call and your balance

Are you using Prepaid or Postpaid?

Hey guys, just wanted to ask.. I prebooked with a 24 month Ivalue 1 plan. when the time comes for me to collect my iphone, can i still tell them I want to change the plan? maybe to 12 months instead?
*
Yes you can. Currently the amount you paid for are the fees or deposited required for pre-booking the Iphone 3GS. When you are required to go and collect your phone, you can ask them for a change in the plan and pay the remaining applicable amount to Maxis. Anyway, why the sudden change of plan? smile.gif

Anyway, there is a question I want to ask and have been getting mixed answers from Maxis. Some sai Yes while some said No.

As far as you can see, the free local calls for Ivalue Plan 1 is 333 minutes (which are counted as 15cents/min). If I subscribe to value extra (8 cents/min and 1 cents/sms), would I get the discounted rate after the 333 minutes or from the moment I start subscribed to Value Extra?

Base on value extra calculation, I will be getting 625 free minutes to Maxis calls.

I asked the maxis salesgirl the other day she said thats to all networks so long as local calls. the only thing to note is that the free sms is only to maxis and NOT to other networks..
*
Exactly. It's recommended to get a principal package + iData2 plan instead if you make a lot of calls or sms to other networks. smile.gif

Hi guys

Yesterday i went to Maxis Center at the Gardens planning to subscribe for the ivalue 100 plan for 24 months to get the 3gs 16gb.

But then they told me that i'm not entitled for 24months contract because my number is 016 instead of 012. When i asked why, they just told me that this policy is directed by "MCMC" and they can't even answer the "why" no matter how many times and who i asked  sad.gif . I'm a maxis customer, but not entitled for the plans being advertised for maxis customers.

Now i'm stuck with whether getting the 12 months contract with my current phone number(which i have to scoop and extra rm400 out for the 3gs 16gb) or get a new number to subscribe for the 24 months contract.

Anyone experienced this case before? pls share  smile.gif
*
I am facing a similar situation as you too. I am porting in from Digi to Maxis, but the sales personnel told me that I am only eligible to sign up for the 12 months contract plan. There are some factors you have to consider and it will depends largely on which plan you are planning to take. If you are taking iValue Plan, calls made to other cellular network will be quite expensive. In this case, keeping a second number from other network providers would help you to save, but this savings only apply if you make lots of calls to both Maxis and other networks. If you notice, SMS to other network providers will be charged on top of the RM100 from the iValue Plan.

If you are opting for the more expensive iData plan, it will help you to save more on calls made to other networks, but you'll lose the savings opportunity derived from iValue plan when you purchase the iPhone.

Thanks for sharing bro. Will consider buying a 2nd hand one if the price is reasonable.

You can wait for the outright purchases or go to some selected MEPs to purchase outright. The problem is there's a long waiting queue as Maxis tries their best to satisfy demand arising from contract customers first. sad.gif

Thanks tinkerbel

btw is there anywhere on the maxis site i can check for the complete info for the ivalue rate plans? eg. call and sms to other operator charges
*
http://maxis.com.my/personal/iphone3gs/rateplan1.asp

Call and SMS are charged at flat rates regardless on which network you made calls to. Also, free local calls here cover calls made to maxis and other operators and is on approximation basis. smile.gif

Hi,

I've contacted Maxis and they have told me that as long the number is not originally a Maxis number, then I cant sign up for the 24 month contract. Even if i convert to Value 50 plan first then order my iphone, also cannot. And no matter how long ago you have converted a digi/celcom number to Maxis also cannot. Only way is to get a new number which is really troublesome because all my contacts and official matters are registered with my current number. Headache
*
Quite in the contrary. I was original a Maxis user before porting to Digi. Now I plan to shift back to Maxis but was told that I am not eligible to sign up for the 24 months contract plan too. Anyway, where did you ask about this and did you have the promoter's reference as in name or number? I figured it would be good to give him or her a call to enquire more about this. smile.gif

@fx2800,
Moving from iValue 1 to iData 2 huh?! Even if they allow you to move, you'll have to probably pay somewhat of charges.  Plus there's a bigger chance of moving plans if you're upgrading ur plan but in your case, Maxis will probably see it as a downgrade of plan since your monthly commitment to them is now reduced.

iData 2 is not a call plan.  You need it with another plan be it any of the ValuePlus plans or the Standard plan.  Y do U wanna change btw?
*
As far as I know, the commitment rate is still the same for both iValue 1 and iData 2 bundled together with the lowest applicable plan - value plan 50. So that's 100, makes no difference for both options hmm.gif

Can you change supplementary line to a prepaid line?
However, any change in supplementary, be it account or transfers, need the principal's approval before any changes can be implemented. My advice: Get a new line, if that's OK for you. smile.gif

@tinkerbell,

Hmm, guess i have to cross check with the staff in maxis center.
*
Get a black and white information if applicable as some staff from Maxis Center seems to be as confused as us. Last time I was asking if Value Extra were available for subscription for iValue Plan 1 subscriber and I get a no from 2 maxis staff (From Sunway Pyramid). I was told otherwise by the promoter when they are trying to sell the iPhone to me. Lastly, I resort to calling customer service, record the call so that I can always screw them when things get into the wrong direction. nod.gif

Hello all. I intend to purchase an iPhone 3GS 16GB. But I don't wish to subscribe to any voice contract since I have has DiGi prepaid line. Is there any place where I can purchase with Hotlink prepaid package. If not, can I subscribe to iData 2, 12 months only without any voice contract? I could see in Maxis website saying that iData can be purchased separately but iPhone price will be at RRP. Many thanks in advance.
*
You can't. Every iData plan must be bundled together with voice contract plans. The only way to obtain an iPhone and keep your Digi line is to subscribe to prepaid plan (which is not available) or buy from someone from Garage Sales. smile.gif

Maxis currently doing iphone offer to my company as below:-
Business Value Plus 50

Iphone 3G 8GB      RM790

Iphone 3GS 16GB      RM1290

Iphone 3GS 32GB      RM1790
Business Value Plus 80

Iphone 3G 8GB              RM590

Iphonr 3GS 16GB            RM1090

Iphone 3GS 32GB            RM1590
Business Value Plus 150

Iphone 3G 8GB                RM190

Iphone 3GS 16GB            RM690

Iphone 3GS 32GB            RM1190

On top of this, i need to add on unlimited data plan RM99/per month to my business value plan. E.g. RM50+RM99 = RM145 per month.

Contract 24 month...

Is it worth to take?
Thanks!
*
Worth to take if you need to online and uses a lot of data when you are online with iPhone. Otherwise, you can reduce the amount by going for iData plan 2 and 3 to save more on the monthly commitment fee payable to Maxis. smile.gif

QUOTE(tssoo @ Oct 21 2009, 07:30 PM)
i thought is about the same that maxis offer to public...e.g. RM1290 for 16gb 3gs monthly commitment for them offer us is 99+50 = RM145.
To public is RM1290 for 16bg 3gs then monthly commitment is RM155 for ivalue 2....

Mean only RM10 diff for monthly charges for 24 month...

Further more, we can collect the device on the spot when signing up
*
There's a difference in the data volume allowance. One is unlimited and another is 1GB only. wink.gif

Guys, one tip here to avoid being scammed by MAXIS! I am so angry at them

When you buy the phone and packages. Make sure they double check them. And call them after a few days. I just got my phone barred and here's how it happen

I bought my phone right from the roadshow. just 2 months back I got the 8GB 3G with iData2 which you all know the price 500MB for Rm50 I expected them to tie my iData together with my value plus plan

but I got barred today and I was curious and went to check my unbilled amount RM273 which is not possible since my value plus is also Rm50 which if correctly use is RM100 flat

I had a very long session with the maxis people over the phone they say I dun have idata tie to my account... like WHAT??????????? and thus my usage is very based on my data usage which only amounts to 300mb
I say that's not possible. But they refuse to barge down until my statement comes out which it hasn't and tell me that minimum 3 days to unbar my phone.

This is too much. I am not going to pay a sen till it make sense.

Stupid!
*
Care to elaborate more on the bolded part? Wish to know more. smile.gif
Did you buy it at RRP, or at rate plan? If so, which plan?

You mean from those threads at Garage Sales? Currently Maxis does not offer outright purchases yet, so you have to pay a premium to get it from other sellers without waiting for a month or tied to any of Maxis' contract.

1. anyone familiar with maxis call plan charges please help me here. I'm subscribing to value plus 50, i found that every month there is an item Usage Charges which cost me around RM15.  i thought there would only be extra usage charges when we called more than RM50. i'm pretty sure i didn't make call or sms more than rm50. so whats this usage charge for?

2. there is another plan in maxis Value First RM30 per month, i want to downgrade to this plan, but am i bonded to value plus RM50 contract? can i change plan without penalty?
*
I believe the three item are Call Forwarding, Call Waiting and Itemized Billing. The charges for Call Forwarding was discounted under the discount section. Not sure about call waiting, but you can save back yourself RM5 by subscribing to internet billing instead of the traditional mail delivery. Save back your RM5 and environment too. smile.gif

Has anyone noticed recently that Maxis's network is dodgy? Here's what I mean:

1. When in a busy area but 3G signal at its maximum, sometimes voice quality degrades to robotic high pitch noises.
2. You misses calls when you're accessing 3G data.
3. 3G data rate is crazily slow or doesn't respond at all even with 3G signal at its maximum

Places I've been with the above issues: Sri Petaling, KLCC, Midvalley and Pavilion. Please tell me my phone is faulty. tongue.gif
*
At times Edge are faster than 3G network, so it's a game of luck to get fast internet access from your iPhone. Despite a full 3G signal, it's as slow as dial up sad.gif
