Hey guys, just testing out the Internet Tethering (since I have lots of data allocation left) and not bad at all. Went very smoothly and fast (Streamyx has been so slow the past many days, so got me annoyed).

Just need to confirm again with you guys that Maxis doesn't charge any extra cost if we're using within the data usage limit, right? I'm using Data Plan 50, so I have 500mb. Thanks.

I was wondering...

1.how long would 500mb data last when using it on your Iphone for normal surfing?

2. How about surfing youtube everyday?

Thanks in advance.

For normal surfing, I think 500mb is enough already.

If you're heavy youtube surfer, 500mb definitely not enough to cater your usage.

I'm currently using 012 number from maxis which already ported out to Digi (Meaning currently using digi service)

I would like to get 24 months iValue 1 with iphone 3Gs 32GB.

It is notice that port in user cannot get 24 months contracts, but what if i port in to get a hotlink plan 1st after that switch from hotlink to get iValue 1 then i'm not consider port in already right? so can i be entitled for 24 months contracts?

If i'm getting 24 months contract, so i can have 12 months installment for the iphone itself?

What bank can offer 12 months installment plan without any charges be it admin charge, or interest charge whatsoever?

If I am not mistaken, I don't think you can do a port in for prepaid plans. You will have to buy a new Hotlink number. Meaning you will have to buy the iPhone outright and then pack in a Hotlink package. I could be wrong though.

No extra cost but do keep track of your usage.

I'm not sure is this the right place to ask this, but I would like to ask everyone that sign a contract with maxis, when you bill comes, did you notice your data charges? there are both messages and data.

with i value 1, you get 500mb free data and 100 free sms, and i signed up for the free 500 sms to maxis numbers for RM8.

but when i checked my bill, i'm still getting charged for it. just sms alone is RM38.90 - iValue 1 sms rebate (RM2.60) - Free sms rebate (RM9.70) = RM26.60

i signed up for the free sms a bit late, so RM9.70 sounds reasonable. but what i don't get is the iValue 1 sms rebate, why is it only RM2.60? 100sms should be around RM10. anyone experienced this?

I think that RM2.60 SMS rebate happens to be the amount you use in that 100. If you didn't use up that 100 free sms, considered wasted. The free sms is interpreted in the bill in the form of a rebate. They can't indicate free or RM0 due to accounting and billing reasons. So the more you use the more rebates you get but limited to the 100 worth of free sms. If you don't use it, they don't refund it back to you.

The iValue1 sms rebate is only for maxis number if i'm not mistaken, so your other SMS costs may come from sending to other networks. Also it may be because you switched to ivalue plan in the middle of the month so after pro-rating, you get maybe 50 free sms or less only. So starting from the next month you should get a rebate of RM10 smile.gif

Over 200 SMS are to maxis numbers, only 100 odd are to other networks. Now that you've said it, I think you may be right about the pro-rating thing, cause I only switched to maxis on 16/9.

yeah, it's to any network, but if you call to Localfone, like Dominos, McD, those numbers like 1300131300, those they will charge.
