is it possible to change ivalue1 plan to idata2?
can idata2 make calls or have to get additional plan?
*
any change of contract will involve termination, thus the charge of fee and margin

y u wan to change from ivalue1 to idata2?
ivalue is line+data, idata is data only(for those who already hav maxis value plan line)

if u not already has a maxis postpaid line, ur onli option is ivalue, not idata

QUOTE(Icehart @ Oct 15 2009, 08:09 PM)
As far as I know, the commitment rate is still the same for both iValue 1 and iData 2 bundled together with the lowest applicable plan - value plan 50. So that's 100, makes no difference for both options  hmm.gif
*
Icehart,

commitment more or less same, but not equal actually

iValue has a flat rate of 0.15/min for call(all network), 0.10/sms(all network)
while ValuePlus has 0.12/min(maxis2maxis) or 0.18/min(other) for call, 0.05/sms(maxis) or 0.15/sms(other)

it seems equal, onli if u hav a balanced number of contacts who is 50% maxis, 50% others
but if u hav a lot Maxis contacts, clearly ValuePlus has bigger advantage over iValue(cheaper)

anyhow, all change in plan are possible to subject to termination of contract(iphone 1)
and thus, u might hav to cover back the saving u get from iphone too(RRP - purchase price)

guys...caught with a thing here...
i jz receive my bill
the pro-rated part
supposingly, if u divide RM50/500MB, u ll get RM0.10/MB
but my pro-rated amount is RM16.19, and listed for 3.xMB usage
but it does mentioned below tat prorate amount from 500MB plan is -15.xx
end up i hav ot pay another 0.33

jz curious, how is ur monthly bill show on this part?
the amount of data transfer u used? the total rate, or the used rate?

QUOTE(CrossFirE @ Oct 21 2009, 08:53 AM)
you mean there will be opening to buy solely iphone without signing any contract sooner or later in the future?
*
it was, and it will

currently it is forced to becoz the supply they acquired is insufficient to meet all demand
choosing between contract and no-contract, of coz they will go for contract customer
those are the people who not just get the phone, but continuing subscribe to their service, a consistent income source
whereas outright purchase of phone only is....phone only.

u can wait til the demand ease down....or just buy the iPhone 3G 8GB

bcoz by the time u waited, may b it is next round they release iPhone 3GX/4G
3Gs will become wat iPhone 3G is today

QUOTE(avars @ Oct 24 2009, 09:25 AM)
Bro, I'm on vp50+idata2 n i donno dat previously (b4 adding on idata2) if im using data service it will deduct from my monthly RM50. Dont it count as extra charges? Reminder to u, do note the iphone price difference between ivalue plans n idata plans.

By the way, i did asked here before, the feedback from existing ivalue users but no 1 shared their views.
*
jz go check maxis site on the plan...value plus has voice/data/sms counted in the commitment
the thing is by default, the rate for the data is pay-as-u-use, which is 1cent/kb
so eventually 1MB will cost u Rm10.24
compare now u assigned to iData2 plan, 500MB for RM50 added on ur bill
ur bill now add only RM50, if is Pay-as-u-use, its RM5120!!!!

HUH!!!?!??? if onli top up to iData, the deposit is not refundable???
*
when u register for booking, the deposit is paid, later when u pick up the phone, it will become part of ur payment for the phone, of coz it is not refundable if u decide to quit the booking, unless they delay u for months and not delivered, and u quarrel with them. what u expect? commit and let go freely as u want?

QUOTE(Qool @ Nov 26 2009, 10:30 AM)
hi everyone, can anyone help me on this.

I'm on ivalue 100 since last year April and contract will end this April 2010.

If say i want iPhone 3Gs, could i signup for another ivalue 100 or any cheaper idata plan and get the phone?

What will happened to my current contract for Dec 2009 -> April 2010. will I have to pay for the 2 contracts for this period?
*
dude...getting another iValue plan on dif tel line? of coz 2 contracts then
if u mean the same Sim line, i assume u r talking about something like renew ur contract earlier, and go for buying a phone...not sure if tat possible, better ask SC

but y not wait, since iPhone 3G not much dif from 3Gs, jz wait til ur contracts ends
and likely u might hear of newer model (3Gx??) around later...jz decide later...jz suggestion

Heh, the Maxis CS I spoke to last time insisted that VP80 was for local calls only even though I have proof otherwise. Go figure  shakehead.gif

Nevertheless, I'll try again since I need to check about the rates and whether iValue supports IDD132. Wish me luck *bg*
*
different CS staff can tell u different thing, mind u biggrin.gif
but if u check Maxis site...it does not list out international call rate in it...so.....hmm

QUOTE(faytleingod @ Nov 28 2009, 01:32 AM)
during booking, the sales staff ask me to choose a plan, i chose

2 years contract
valueplus80
idata2 (rm50)
my current sup line (RM30)
iphone is at RM 1,990

im here thinking, if i change it to
1 year contract
valueplus80
idata2(RM50)
current sup line (RM30)
iphone is at RM 2,090

Q1) my iphone havent arrive. when arrive, i still can change my package right? it's just how much they charge the iphone right?
Q2) i got internet at home, i seldom use phone to surf web, so signing up the 1 year contract with the extra RM100 on the iphone is better than keep paying idata RM50 for another 12 months right?
Q3) if i chose the 1 year contract, after the contract, i can terminate my idata plan?
Q4) paying by citibank credit card for 12 months installment, no hidden charges & 0% installment?
*
A1) yes
A2) ur decision, but yes, better option
A3) u can choose to discontinue the plan
A4) check with Maxis when u pay for it. Clarify before u pay

QUOTE(tHe^CuLpRit @ Nov 28 2009, 06:24 AM)
I'm on Value First now and I wonder if this can be paired with iData. In the Maxis site shows the lowest is VP50.

you can

i'm in dilemma.. i dunno which plan to choose.. i hope sifus out there can suggest some opinion to me..

currently i'm on VP50 wif family plus 30, total is RM80 per month

plan 1: if i purchase ID50 (12 mths), total is RM130 per month and i get the iphone for RM2090

plan 2: if i change my plan to ivalue1 (12 mths) wif family plus 30, total is RM130 per month as well but i get the iphone for RM1990

plan 3: if i purchase ID30 (no contract) wif family plus 30, total is RM110 per month n i get the iphone for RM2490

i gt connection at home.. n i seldom on9 at outside.. actually which plan is valuable for money n save?
*
my fren caught an issue on this (he is 3G, the first batch)
he was also moved on wit iValue plan
end up when they convert the line to iValue from Family plus
there is no longer Family plan append to his account.

it seems when u r on iValue, it is not under something tat qualify for family plus
i'll need to clarify wit my fren for this

btw....VP50 and iValue1 call rate does dif
would suggest u go wit ur plan1 (before clarifying Family plan issue) if ur target call recipient are mainly Maxis line too

QUOTE(ivanseng @ Dec 13 2009, 03:38 PM)

1. Maxis ppl are saying since, i don't buy Iphone from them, i'm not entitled to Ivalue Plans or Idata plans. I'm only able to subscribe to normal Value Plus plan + adding Value Extras of Mobile Internet Services. Is this correct? (from Maxis ppl A)
2. Value Plus plan + idata plan is better since Mobile Internet Services cannot support Iphones, it only supports normal, PDA phones, smart phones. So i need to subcribes these? (from Maxis ppl B)
3. Configurations Settings: What does they configures? Does it take a long time? Will if affect the warranty?did they do any jail-break to the phone?
4. Does Digi plan are much more better?
Maxis ppl A giv u correct answer, B giv u wrong idea...
any unlocked iphone can use here, and yes...u do not entitle for iValue/iData if u not buying iphone from Maxis
but if u opt for iData2/iValue1, the similar data package from Maxis Mobile Internet is RM58 for 500MB too...
tat is...if u already own a Maxis postpaid line...

my suggestion would be....
if u already own a maxis line for this, jz get the Mobile Internet for RM58(if u actually opt for 500MB), the B is crapping, ain't iPhone a smartphone too???

if u not own a maxis line, but u wish to own 1, as mackiddo said, book and wait for the line(depends which plan u want, and if u willing to wait a month), then swap it and sell the phone after u got them (so u hav a chance to make some cash out of it may b)

if u not own a maxis, and u not really intend to hav 1, jz think of bcoz u want a plan for ur iphone...
yes, try consider Digi unlimited plan...or a plan which meets ur need...
it wont be tough for config, jz google around or surf here...u should find steps for it

juz a curious question here....

since i bought iPhone from other ppl already, but i wan buy a iData1, izzit possible??
*
no

iData is jz like iValue, its a subscribe-as-u-buy
allowing existing Maxis postpaid customer to buy the iphone, keep their current call plan, and add on data for iphone...

u can onli get the Maxis Mobile Internet
http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/mobile/br...earch/index.asp
Monthly 500MB pass = RM58

QUOTE(Survivor @ Dec 31 2009, 09:48 AM)
If you are on Maxis plan for the iphone, I think one of the possible ways to check whether you have excessive data usage is to constantly check on the Maxis Customer Service website on your "unbilled amount". If the unbilled amount is oddly large figure, you might be able to stop it before it gets even larger.
*
nope...that's does not tell the picture

i monitored mine....
the unbilled amount reflects my phone/sms bill only....not the data part....
I would believe they only count it into the unbilled once u exceed usage quota, because after that, u are on pay per use basis, every bit is prepared to be billed.

hi there, juz wanna ask..

1. i'm foreigner, if i wanna purchase iphone without the contract do they still need my application(I.C, pass, blablabla)?
2. when i'm in my country can i change the simcard to my country simcard?

thanx b4 smile.gif
*
1) u can get the outright purchase (should be available for 32GB), which sell at Retail price, but probably they try to bundle the prepaid plan for u, with the data.... If the prepaid plan is to sign-up, yes, you need to register for it.

2) iPhone sold in Malaysia is unlocked version, so you can change to your country's telco SIM card when u return home.

*
dude....stop confusing urself....

jz make it simple.....
ur usage is less than total commitment, u pay the commitment (let say RM100)
if u use more than it, then pay the total, which ever higher. got it?

It should be that way but it isn't. My brother's maxis bill, monthly commitment, RM50 but total usage RM90. Therefore, he should be paying RM90, isn't it? Apparently not. Maxis adds up his monthly commitment and total usage.
*
may b u need to calculate it in details....
see if it is matching
the usage exceeding the allocation along wit commitment is charged at different rate...
