@tnsai,
The 333 free minutes are applicable for both Maxis and other network operators. This is so because u basically have paid for the usage in your plan.

@scofield,
Your plan will also start when you collect your iPhone. It will then be activated on the spot and you'll be able to use it within the next 2-24 hours depending on what plan you're signing up on.

Cool thanks!

Hmm, I find it weird and a bit.. insane/unreasonable that we cannot check what is our current data usage(just called Hotline). I think the customers have the right to know if they exceeded their data usage etc.

Of course, it could be intentional, so we don't know if we have overused our limit or not.

what a ridiculous plan smile.gif .... I'm only paying sgd$7 for 1mpbs 30GB per month under Singtel corporate plan. and the voice plan ? it's only sgd$12 per month with 100minutes + 300 sms free.

Corporate Plan definitely have subsidized plan. Or maybe your company have 100 users and the accounts are attached to Singtel for 20years. During my last employment, I dont need to pay my phone bills. cool2.gif

Hey guys,

Currently I am using RM80 maxis phone plan with RM99 unlimited data plan. I want to purchase the iphone via maxis 12 month contract. I know there are many plans. But ivalue 2 for RM155 looks good. Nowadays I don't use the data much but think if I get the iphone I will probably use more. Is 1 gb enough for surfing on the iphone and sharing connection and surfing on the pc? Not going to download files. Any advice will be much appreciated. Thanks.

a highly subjective question TBH.

but if it was me, 1GB is definitely insufficient for my consumption; to tether.

whilst it is extremely lucrative to have 1GB on the iPhone, but once it goes to the big picture (tethering to PC/MAC), it is far than satisfactory.

But bro I will only be using it to surf. Not going to download. Also just want to confirm that there is software to tether from iphone to pc via wireless. I know it is a noob question, but hey nokia 5800 xm user here going to be converted to iphone user. Also can I check my data balance on the phone itself, like how much mb I have used? What plan are u on bro?

as i was mentioning earlier, the question is highly subjective. it may be a lot for you, but not vice versa.

tether using, either the provided USB cable or bluetooth. no exceptions.

yes. as per, the included image from my iPhone

@icechiller555,
Depending on how often U intend to tether, 1GB may be just suffice or insuffice. I don't tether too much on my iPhone but it comes in handy when i'm out and about. I'm currently subscribed to the 500MB data plan and find it more than suffice for my usage.

PS: I haven't Tethered much since I haven't travelled outstation recently.

@jon_jai,
You can't add-on iData plans to your existing plans. If you want to add on existing data plans, you have to go for the new plans which were introduced by Maxis recently:

RM58 for 500MB p/month
RM78 for 1.5GB p/month
RM88 for 3GB p/month

but opting for these additional plans might as well u upgrade ur entire plan ... but then you wated money on the price you paid for the iphone as that price might be reduced quite a lot if would have chose a higher plan when u bought the iphone ...

Problem is, I ask already sad.gif they don't allow any upgrades without incurring a heavy penalty for changing contract

@earl-ku,
But that wasn't his question. I believe jon_jai oredi has an iPhone and has no intentions of getting another one. He just wants to know if he can subscribe to a data package to be used with his existing iPhone; hence those are the only plans available.

@hlsp7a,
Your RM100 you pay monthly includes:-
# 333 minutes of free local calls
# 500mb of data usage
# 100 SMS
# 10 MMS

Anything exceeding the above, you'll be charged @ RM0.15 p/minute for voice calls and RM0.10 p/SMS.

Hi there! I came across with the promotion and I would like to know if it is worth it? This installment plan comes with 500mb free data usage monthly.
