@ashin83,
It's good to keep a tab on ur usage; just check out the meter gauge in ur iPhone.  I notice Maxis bills U for whatever you've used but come month end, it'll be re-credited out hence it'll all balance up.

I too am waiting for my Maxis bill to make sure there's no wrong charges *smiles* but ah well... I'm patient smile.gif

Yes, that's how billing and accounts works. They usually details all of them one by one as usual and then only applies the 'specials' as per subscribed. That way they can see the ins and outs of the money flow. I believe some concerned individual was scared the hell when they saw the high charges and overlooked the smaller chargeable number. Its easy to make an exaggeration when you only wanted to see what you want to see and make it a reality.

Thats why they have a summary in the front page of the bills. The summary will detail all you need to pay for the month. The payable number is highlighted.

How to apply easy payment plan? Goto maxis or bank first? Never apply such thing before.
*
When you pay for the phone (upon arrival and availability) with the credit card, just mention that you are opting for the easy payment plan. They will provide an application form and will make photocopy of your IC (and credit card if not mistaken). Then they will request for easy payment through the credit terminal. You may be required to provide authentication and permission for the bank to proceed. There'll be a telephone call (depends) via the store. Then its just as easy as signing the credit card statement/printout.

However if your credit card is not from one of the participating banks, you can always swipe in full and then call out the bank to convert it into split payments of 6, 12, 24, 36 months depending on the available choices. Some banks have pre-requisites like 6 months split payment only for RM1000 and up while 12 months only for RM2000 and up. Don't forget that the processing fee (depending on the number of months chosen) is applicable. For more information check with your banks.

The conventional recommendation/advice is always true. If possible, save up and buy it later. Its not fun when you see your monthly salary being held up with installments and left with little cash to work around.

can do like tis?

Yes, some credit card companies have flexi-payment schemes. Usually the divides are 6, 12, 24, 36 months with varying interests. The interests also depends on the amount committed to flexi-payment. There's usually a minimum amount for 6, 12, 24, 36 months installment periods. How to do it? First make certain that your bank offers such a service and know what are the rates. Then just swipe the amount in full. Then call in to confirm that you want the last transaction converted into flexi-payment. Tell them how many months you wish to commit. The customer service executive will calculate the approximate amount you need to pay every month. Then wait a few days up to a week for them to approve your application.

Approval is usually guaranteed provided you satisfy the following:

- Enough free credits every month. Meaning you do not have other flexi-payments at the same time. Lets say your credit is 6000 but you already have 4000 committed for other flexi-payments. So you have balance 2000. Thats not going to cut it.
- Your credit history or payment history is satisfactory. The banks have ways and formula to calculate your statistics like your age, your monthly salary, etc and come out with a probability of 'fleeing payments'. If you fall within the safe category, then it'll be approved.

Hi guys,I bought my iPhone3G with maxis plan last few monthe but I feel that my home button a little bit stiff compare with other iPhone can I claim warranty with maxis? They will give me a new unit or just reapiar the button for me?
*
Well if you reject the current phone, most likely you'll get a replacement. Maxis don't run a repair service. However, whether you will get a new one or a certified repaired unit, I am not sure. But in my opinion, its good that it is stiff now. Cause it'll definitely 'loosen' up a bit after some time. So you do mean, dead stiff as in there is a problem with the button placement?

All existing iValue subscribers are automatically upgraded to this 'enhanced' package. Its across the board. Maxis upgraded their subscription plans to make it more competitive. Just last month, iValue subscribers have been receiving sms notification from Maxis about this offer. Also existing subscribers with iPhone 3G are also sent an invitation card to notify them of this upgrade/change while also offering them a RM500 rebate on their monthly fees if they choose to buy the iPhone 3GS.

Also, last month I have received my Maxis bill with a special deductions on the amount of sms-es I've sent. It is properly and appropriately showed in the bill. So no worries guys... you're all under the same 'new iValue' plan.

I'm currently using 012 number from maxis which already ported out to Digi (Meaning currently using digi service)

I would like to get 24 months iValue 1 with iphone 3Gs 32GB.

It is notice that port in user cannot get 24 months contracts, but what if i port in to get a hotlink plan 1st after that switch from hotlink to get iValue 1 then i'm not consider port in already right? so can i be entitled for 24 months contracts?

If i'm getting 24 months contract, so i can have 12 months installment for the iphone itself?

What bank can offer 12 months installment plan without any charges be it admin charge, or interest charge whatsoever?
*
If I am not mistaken, I don't think you can do a port in for prepaid plans. You will have to buy a new Hotlink number. Meaning you will have to buy the iPhone outright and then pack in a Hotlink package. I could be wrong though.

I'm not sure is this the right place to ask this, but I would like to ask everyone that sign a contract with maxis, when you bill comes, did you notice your data charges? there are both messages and data.

with i value 1, you get 500mb free data and 100 free sms, and i signed up for the free 500 sms to maxis numbers for RM8.

but when i checked my bill, i'm still getting charged for it. just sms alone is RM38.90 - iValue 1 sms rebate (RM2.60) - Free sms rebate (RM9.70) = RM26.60
i signed up for the free sms a bit late, so RM9.70 sounds reasonable. but what i don't get is the iValue 1 sms rebate, why is it only RM2.60? 100sms should be around RM10. anyone experienced this?
*
I think that RM2.60 SMS rebate happens to be the amount you use in that 100. If you didn't use up that 100 free sms, considered wasted. The free sms is interpreted in the bill in the form of a rebate. They can't indicate free or RM0 due to accounting and billing reasons. So the more you use the more rebates you get but limited to the 100 worth of free sms. If you don't use it, they don't refund it back to you.

aiseh. Damn expensive la if i use gprs/edge/3g. Nvm and thanx anyway for the quick reply. Will think bout other ways
*
Well if you're already a Maxis subscriber you can pick one of its Maxis 3G bolt-on plans. There's a 500MB monthly plan going for RM58. If you're not a subscriber you can pick one of its Value Plus plans at minimum RM30/month. At most you're paying some RM8 or more extra depending how you mix and match.

even i switched off wifi, but once i switch safari on I still can on9. how do I disable that?
*
Basically you can't. The iPhone is designed to be an internet always connected device. However, if you want to disable this functionality there's a procedure to do this (but I am not sure if it still applies for current models or OS version). Check the stickies in this forum.

Has anyone noticed recently that Maxis's network is dodgy? Here's what I mean:

1. When in a busy area but 3G signal at its maximum, sometimes voice quality degrades to robotic high pitch noises.
2. You misses calls when you're accessing 3G data.
3. 3G data rate is crazily slow or doesn't respond at all even with 3G signal at its maximum

Places I've been with the above issues: Sri Petaling, KLCC, Midvalley and Pavilion. Please tell me my phone is faulty. tongue.gif
