QUOTE(elsheik @ Aug 28 2009, 08:35 AM) I went to Maxis Center @Gardens yesterday to order/purchase 3GS with hotlink package. aiyakkk... and guess what.....? Maxis has already pulled out that offer. According to the staff there, it has been taken out of the package offer since early Aug 09??? She even showed me a brochure of those packages offered, and Hotlink offer was scratched using red marker. I was really NOT HAPPY. Can Maxis do that? Their website says otherwise (i mean, it still shows prepaid package with outright purchase is still offered). Can someone enlighten this. about to go to subscribe hotlink 3GS package too erm.... so i have to forget bout iphone 3gs for now |

just asking, the cheapest possible to pay per month contract tis IVALUE (RM30) + Idata 1 (rm30)= rm60 per month?
is there any cheaper alternatives except the prepaid plan? Edit: prepaid plan is not possible anymore, so is the ivalue+ idata 1 = cheapest? This post has been edited by Jcvendetta: Aug 28 2009, 12:52 PM |

@Jcvendetta,
iData 1 doesn't give you rebate off the price of the iPhone 3GS. U also don't have to be locked in with a contract period with iData 1. Also I've NO idea Y u people are saying it's no longer to purchase the i3GS via the Hotlink prepaid method. It's still possible except U aren't allowed to pre-book; as stock levels are low only those who's signing on a plan will be given preference to purchase the i3GS. Those wanting to purchase via the Hotlink Prepaid outright package will just have to wait till there's adequate stocks. |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 28 2009, 12:58 PM) @Jcvendetta, meaning, if i take idata1 +ivalue, then i buy the iphone at 2490 + rm 30(ivalue) +rm30(idata1) per month? since u said i dont have to be locked with a contract period, it means i can cancel the rm30 (idata) anytime i want? iData 1 doesn't give you rebate off the price of the iPhone 3GS. @Jcvendetta,
Yes U can cancel the iData 1 plan at anytime so I guess after the 1st month U can cancel it lah. It's not the same as the Hotlink package because the Hotlink package gives you 500MB of data services FREE p/month for 12 months. |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 28 2009, 01:15 PM) @Jcvendetta, wa, then definitely the hotlink plan more worthy. so i think the idata2+ivalue is thebest alternative then. what do u think?Yes U can cancel the iData 1 plan at anytime so I guess after the 1st month U can cancel it lah. @Jcvendetta,
Y would U want to latch on an iData plan if you're getting the iValue plans; in the iValue plans, U oredi paid for X amount of data usage. U might as well go with a ValuePlus 30 plan + iData 2. |

Can anyone from Maxis explains what the heck is going on the pre-paid plan? I pre-book the phone early this month and did mention I want the pre-paid plan (and they said there's no problem), now the phone is arrived and I been inform to take the phone, but when I go to the shop, they want me to switch to iValue plan, or I will need to wait for 2-3 months (according to them, they are going to oh-hold the phone in their shop for 2-3 months because Maxis are not allow).
On-hold the phone is shop for 2-3 months?? And force people to take iValue plan? What type of service is this?? |

QUOTE(LEVIATHAN @ Aug 28 2009, 06:15 AM) I'm using hotlink, and I bought an iPhone 3gs early August via prepaid plan and gave it to my mother. Now I'm buying another set, this time with iData 2. Am I correct when I say commitment fee means, doesnt matter how much ur monthly usage is, u still need to pay minimum RM50 monthly, even if ur monthly usage (calls n smses) is still below RM50, but if u exceed RM50 then u need to pay RM50+RM x(extra charges)![]() To pre-order an iPhone, I'm required to convert my current prepaid number to postpaid, select a postpaid plan, and on top of that, pick up the iData 2 plan? ![]() In the picture above, what does Commitment Fee mean? Is the fee to be paid once during the sign up? ![]() Say, I sign up for Value Plus 50, and then iData 2. With that, my monthly bill will be RM50+RMX (iData 2 monthly fee + whatever usage for a particular month). Am I correct? Kindly advise. so if u opt for idata2 ur monthly fee will be:- RM50 (commitment fee) + RM50 (idata2) +(extra charges *if ur usage exceed RM50*) n im not sure if MMS charges are considered data usage or not p/s: to safe more, opt for e-bill, safe RM5 monthly |

QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Aug 28 2009, 11:27 AM) @tj01, Hi TinkerBel... well I just want to confirm that are we really confined to use the iValue 1 plan for example to a pro-rated 500MB usage on a daily basis? We've previously cautioned re pro-rate of charges by Maxis; just too bad U didn't read those posts @vectorian, What issue are U referring to that you're keen to find out?! If you can kindly paste the link to the discussion you mentioned above would be greatly appreciated cause I can't seem to find it. |

@avars,
U will be charged separately when U send an MMS but when U download the MMS the size of the MMS will be included in as part of ur iData plan. @vectorian, No the plans aren't pro-rated on a day to day basis. It's only pro-rated for the 1st month when U sign up. For example, ur bill cycle is 5th of the month, that means U have up to 4th of the following month to spend whatever your plan is. If you've signed up and purchased your iPhone on 2nd of the month, your plan will be pro-rated for the 1st month. |

Heya Tinkerbell or teikwing or whoever knows,
Wanna ask info regarding the Easy Payment Scheme, From my understanding, as it states in the first FAQ page: "Easy Payment/Monthly Installment Plan for iPhone 3G/3GS: Maxis Centres: QUOTE 0% interest Easy Payment Plan available for iValue Plan subscribers only (iData TBC). Prepayment of monthly fee is required. For more info, refer to iValue Plan & details in Post #2. Only applicable to credit card holders of selected banks: Maybank (up to 24 months) Public Bank (up to 12 months) HSBC (up to 12 months) Citibank *No processing fee for HSBC & Citibank (credits to jssl & silverarrow) Machines Outlets: *Rates might be bank-dependent, do verify with respective banks before purchase QUOTE Accepts Maybank , AmBank , HSBC , CIMB & Citibank Surcharge for 6 months and 12 months Installment Plan , 2% for 6 months and 4% for 12 months . More information about the installment payment, call Machines 1U @ 03-7727 2606 (credits to boringpig) > Amex Gold CC: 0% interest on installments for purchases made up to December 2009 (credits to tinkerbel) > Direct Access MasterCard: 0% interest on installments for purchases made up to December 2009 (10 months installment =min. RM1000, 20 months installment = min. RM3000) (credits to jackhammer84)"| So basically it seems to me that if I buy at the Maxis Centres I can only use the said cards for the purchases of the iValue plans right AND if bought at Machines can use other cards too ya. Situation is I do not want the ripping off iValue since im already a postpaid user hence i wanna take the iData plans which Maxis finds unworthy of being within the Easy Payment Scheme. So I was thinking yeah, if a Direct Access Card is used as mentioned, which is for any purchases within the limits defined, do you think I could still purchase the phone with iData using that scheme hence enjoying the 0% installments? Thanks! Hope its clear what I'm saying! |

As far as I know Direct Access 0% installment plan still charges certain percentage of processing fee. It's better call up CIMB and check.

I just saw the Iphone 3GS advert on tv3 for the first time. Does this means that the iphone 3GS bulk stocks finally arrived here in Malaysia. No need to do booking anymore? I thought that bookings are for launch period only but there are still discussions on certain threads here that some people still haven't received their pre-booked units until this day
So can I just walk in to any Maxis centre and purchase a unit COD tommorow? |
