Thanks TinkerBel for clearing that up. Feel confident now with the iValue 1 I decided on during booking.

Cheers!

Heya Tinkerbell or teikwing or whoever knows,

Wanna ask info regarding the Easy Payment Scheme, From my understanding, as it states in the first FAQ page:

"Easy Payment/Monthly Installment Plan for iPhone 3G/3GS:
Maxis Centres:
QUOTE
0% interest Easy Payment Plan available for iValue Plan subscribers only (iData TBC). Prepayment of monthly fee is required. For more info, refer to iValue Plan & details in Post #2.

Only applicable to credit card holders of selected banks:
Maybank (up to 24 months)
Public Bank (up to 12 months)
HSBC (up to 12 months)
Citibank
*No processing fee for HSBC & Citibank
(credits to jssl & silverarrow)

Machines Outlets:
*Rates might be bank-dependent, do verify with respective banks before purchase

QUOTE
Accepts Maybank , AmBank , HSBC , CIMB & Citibank

Surcharge for 6 months and 12 months Installment Plan , 2% for 6 months and 4% for 12 months .

More information about the installment payment, call Machines 1U @ 03-7727 2606 (credits to boringpig)

> Amex Gold CC: 0% interest on installments for purchases made up to December 2009 (credits to tinkerbel)
> Direct Access MasterCard: 0% interest on installments for purchases made up to December 2009
(10 months installment =min. RM1000, 20 months installment = min. RM3000) (credits to jackhammer84)"|

So basically it seems to me that if I buy at the Maxis Centres I can only use the said cards for the purchases of the iValue plans right AND if bought at Machines can use other cards too ya.

Situation is I do not want the ripping off iValue since im already a postpaid user hence i wanna take the iData plans which Maxis finds unworthy of being within the Easy Payment Scheme.

So I was thinking yeah, if a Direct Access Card is used as mentioned, which is for any purchases within the limits defined, do you think I could still purchase the phone with iData using that scheme hence enjoying the 0% installments?

Thanks! Hope its clear what I'm saying!

As far as I know Direct Access 0% installment plan still charges certain percentage of processing fee. It's better call up CIMB and check.

i bought from machines, use cimb cc

Iphone Price: RM2590 (32GB, idata2, 1 year contract)
minus RM200 paid for deposit = RM2390

plus 6% bank charge for instalment = RM2533.4

divide by 12 months = RM211.12 monthly

p/s: bank charges may varied, like 1 of the forummer said we could report the shop, from what i know the bank charges should be bear by the shop not the consumer

I just saw the Iphone 3GS advert on tv3 for the first time. Does this means that the iphone 3GS bulk stocks finally arrived here in Malaysia. No need to do booking anymore? I thought that bookings are for launch period only but there are still discussions on certain threads here that some people still haven't received their pre-booked units until this day sad.gif

So can I just walk in to any Maxis centre and purchase a unit COD tommorow?

@gyver & megatron007,
Chances are that U won't be successful in getting ur i3GS tomorrow if U just do a walk-in COD. Booking periods at the moment are about 25-30 days.

ha ha. the legendary megatron007. one of the few pioneers of the iPhone thread in LYN!

way before i even got hold of my first generation iPhone thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

anyway, i reckon that "COD on the spot" will only be a reality once the hotlink equivalent goes live again.

that should be a good indicator, maxis is having stock surplus and a healty inventory level

Does it means that, the prepaid plan is back on track?
We can purchase the Iphone without contract?

@skysblue,
Please refer to my previous post just before this; it states, Maxis has NOT re-opened pre-bookings for Hotlink Prepaid customers!  mad.gif

Bro.. it is common sense if you read this thread. Every single new booking no matter iValue or iData will need to wait up to 30days.

No.. only iValue Plans but you can arrange directly with your card issuer if they provide flexi payment for purchases above RM 1k. As mac.tay mentioned above, CIMB allows that but you need to call them first before making the transaction.

I have a big question.. Will i get charge if i use my wifi at home and then disable edge and 3G using iphonenodata?(when wifi is off, i can't access to safari, maps and apps store) .

Apparently, my phone bill for this last month is RM800 over - for only 2 weeks. It is because maxis have not approve my ivalue 1 plan..due to some confusion between the dealer and maxis so my charges are base on Maxis mobile internet charges. Now they promise to waive the rm 800 cos i suppose to be in Ivalue 1 plan so the data is consider as my data for last month.

I got shocked when i find that my bill is Rm800 because i only online using WIfi and shut off edge and 3g. Even if they charge under the maxis mobile internet fee (0.1 cent /kb) but it wouldn't be so expensive. It will be around 80mb = RM800. As in my iphone - i only used (sent 13kb and recieved 153kb) because i accidentally use the 3g on the first day to download an app.

I complain to Maxis today and the girl at center said that if the wifi connection is not stable, then it will switch to edge /3g. is this true? but then, i had disable the edge and 3g? Now i have to wait for my bill to be itemized in 2 days to find out.

thank you
