Just saw this news on Taiwan iPhone forum, their side is having 3Gs shortage too, and the good thing is their Telco give away a value rebate to their phone bill which worth NT500 (approx. RM50+)
Now i want to ask, what is the action that our lovely Maxis take to all the long waiting iPhone 3Gs customer?

In actual fact, it is worldwide shortage.

Look at the memory card price? is increasing week by weeks. What happen? Well Iphone has been ordering lots of NAND flash from Taiwan big manufactures. This cause memory card shortage and iphone manufacturing delayed.

For those who got it within 30 days... consider yourself lucky

woww...that must be caused by malaysian students flooding into UK for their new term n buying all the 3GSes haha...when i was there...3GS are readily available in shops, just walk in n u can buy d iphone on d spot...just that UK set is locked to O2..if its simfree..i must sambar one punya...n its far more expensive than malaysia...people there will buy simfree iphone like ours at a premium price up to £750...crazy

n now d supply is short...surely it will reach £800 - 900 mark easily

and yet,im still holding my decision to book one due to the hype n shortage...just gonna wait till all d excitement gone then i will opt for one

i booked mine on 15th of september at maxis center sunway pyramid.. honestly speaking, i don't even bother to go and ask whether my phone is ready cos i know the answer

15th september which counts to roughly 2 weeks time is still acceptable. Mine has been more than 30days. Booked on the 28th of August.

if by next week the iphone doesn't comes. I'm gonna get my RM200 back no matter they say non-refundable or what crap. Because on the booking receipt, mentions 30 DAYS FROM REGISTRATION DATE and there's no terms or conditions stated on that piece of paper mentioning of any delay or etc.

booked mine on the 6th in sunway pyramind too, no calls , sms or email so far.. will try my luck this sat

Added on October 1, 2009, 9:03 amerm when i booked the first time, i was given 2 pieces. on the second time which is a week later, they gave me 1 piece only. i asked them why is tat only 1 piece this time, according to the lady, the piece of receipt with reference number is actually for maxis reference only. It's not necessary for us.

What is the rush? Using it now or later does not make such a big difference until u need to have the money refunded

anyone here got get the prepaid plan to get the iphone?

I got it with prepaid plan when Maxis first launch and I pre-book it from Maxis web without contract. I believe Maxis had take out the booking for prepaid without sign any contract with them....

Yeah ,I got the prepaid plan to get the iPhone. It is cheaper to me as as I do not use data or call too much.

It is not a matter of rush.. i got the money and yet i abide with the 30days period and i should be getting within the timeframe specified. If they can't supply it then why put a 30days from booking date to collect the phone?

If u noticed from the postings here, there are ppl who are pressing Maxis to give them the phone even after 2 weeks. Sometimes they give in to these customers and ppl like u lose out ie allocated units to u may be given out to those ppl who make a big fuss at their office.

yea.. for those that making noise.. u almost 80% can get the phone on-time.. i dont want to choose this way also as i feel very embarrassing.. but no choice

What is the best way to check the status of the iphone? MY receipt didnt state waiting duration is 30 days. Booked @ 26september at the gardens.

it is quite embarrassing to make a nuisance in the public especially from where i live is just a small town and people could recognize u.

Hah! Its true in need, but that is the only fastest way to get the phone. Otherwise, might have to wait for 3-4months before maxis release it to you. I guess im going to make some noise by next Sat as it is the due date of 30days. We paid for RM200 for the commitment, maxis have no reason and excuses on delivering the good on time. We can commit, why maxis cant?

yes i booked at MEP since i never tied contract coz i will use it with other simcard at oversea...n if i want refund my deposit i can do it...do u all not feel persecution when Ur deposit can't be refund..?

Haha. But its true right? almost can see Maxis 3GS advertisement on TV everyday but, there do not have the supply to feed market demand. What for placing so much advertisement.
