Some forummers have reported they've successfully made the purchase via Hotlink prepaid package; as to whether or not they've previously pre-ordered, I think they must have had.

but U can always try ur luck; U probably would have a better chance going directly to Maxis to make the purchase than purchasing from MEPs or APRs.

Everybody goes through the same hassle/inconvenience.  Wait times are different so I would say luck plays a role too.  Also, appreciate if you can post constructively here instead of asking and commenting the same thing over and over again

some MEP allow u to purchase phone with prepaid plan...u should try ask those MEPs...i recommend MEP at Ampang Point...u can get ur phone within 3 weeks. 

The truth is, what do you want from your phone, If you want to be a normal Iphone user or a person who would jailbreak. By jailbreaking (like me) you avoid the warranty. IF you do get the phone from anywhere else, for example lowyat, you still dont have warranty, the only warranty is with the shop and if they cant repair it completely, no difference actually.

So bro, if you could wait i would suggest a few more months and get it from Machines. If you really can't, then I would suggest the usual, start lining up at MAXIS for you 1 month wait

no, since Maxis is the ONLY legit distributor/importer of iphones, so Machines get their phones from Maxis and is also bound by Maxis terms & conditions, which is now only contract applications are allowed to book. This applies for 3GS though, for 3G i dun think u need to sign any contract.

there are a few (or maybe just one) MEP that enables booking via prepaid, thats how i got mine, Maxis service sucks so i really dont want to sign their contract, please read previous posts for more info.

simple, dont get it from apple distributors, they're the last vendors on maxis list to get the phones, go directly to Maxis Center or any MEP to book your iphone, but u must be ready to subscribe to contract, contract subscriptions apply for all official iphones in malaysia regardless of vendor.

either that or u wait until all the hype dies down or when there's ex-stock for an outright purchase.

went to maxis store at midvalley just now to convert my celcom to hotlink. see a guy pick up his iphone there.. hehehe when i can get mine...

if you havent noticed my previous posts, i too subscribe to the prepaid plan, if you go to any Maxis Centers, confirm u will not be able to take hotlink plan unless this has been changed, anyway last time i checked, still cant.

only 1 MEP that i know of is allowing booking via prepaid.

all the while i tot hotlink plan is not available for order since its stated in maxis site and i enquired at machine at the end of august. just keep on waiting and waiting till managed to find out in this thread that under hotlink plan can be booked as well. else i would have gone to orange end of august, and by now might obtain the phone already

ya...this morning went there already. ampang point branch.

ya...eventhough the gal at the registration counter told me that its only for postpaid, but i did call n ask yesterday b4 i went there this mornin. just inform tat gal. but she told me hafta wait for 1-2 months for 16gb black
