same here. i luv the apps be it free or paid ones. from nonsense apps to real useful stuff.

i got friend who change from Omnia to Touch HD just for the big screen but when he saw my iphone and the apps he said 'shud have bought it'. and another friend who try so hard to change his Touch Pro appearance to look like iPhone.

and their phone is much more expensive than my 3GS.
*
Too bad lah macam ni, how i wish u guys give answer like 'iPhone is Cool gadget!' 'all my fren around use iPhone, sure i kenot lose!' 'iPhone is fashion man!' . . . Etc
So i can grab cheaper 2nd hand unit at
Garage sales after a month ma, lol.

Back to topic:
I plan to book at end of month, from what i observe here is 32GB will be slightly faster than 16GB, what does MEP means? U guys suggest me to book at machines or Maxis outlet? Cheers n thanks in advance first ! smile.gif

Oic, now i know what is MEP then smile.gif
Hmm, if i am not wrong, the only advantage to book at machines is they accept more choice of cc besides those few bank tat only accepted in maxis official outlet.
Aiks, sakit kepala !

(My CC is CIMB, which is not accept by Maxis, i got no choice to go for Machines)

And also, can we ask the Machines to included that "Prepayment" into the total bill to enjoy the 0% installment plan?

I wish too, but in fact Maxis only accept Maybank, HSBC & Public Bank CC.
That's why i have to go for Machines, and choose 32GBS (which i thought will be slightly faster than 16GBS ... T_T)

Cheers

my situation was the same as u, using cimb cc so need to buy from machines to do installment, actually the experience wasnt so bad coz machines know how to handle their customers, u can call the shop directly without going through 'proxy' call center, they kept me updated of any development of the delay n informed me politely/patiently, booked at machines mid valley on 28th July n got my phone on 13th August, 32gb black

During activation (when the machines staff contacted Maxis to add idata2 to my existing VP50 plan), the maxis girl wrongly added idata3 to my plan. And the machines staff scolded her (politely ^.^) because of her screwing up. He even helped me to follow up with them the next working day in order to change back the wrongly added plan to the correct 1. Saving me from doing the dirty job later (possibility of numerous trip to maxis center in future).

Extras of buying from machines:

-Free machines membership.
-RM20 rebate for next purchase.

Oh~ now i see, actually can up to 12 mths, guess i need to call their customer service and check check, lol

Finally book my iPhone !!!

booked: 30-Sept
collected: -
waiting period: -
model: iphone 3gs 32gb black
venue: Machines @ One U
Booking Fees: RM200

Here's the story, just now i decided to went to Machines@Sunway to book my iPhone,
after i step in and ask the sales person about iPhone booking,
she straight away say "No, we dun take any booking anymore"
Then i was like get stunned there few seconds, then i ask her why?
She said cause they have lots of list need to be clear, and some people even wait up to 2 or 3 months (WTF??) so they decided not to take any order at the moment,
untill they clear most of the waiting list only reopen the booking.
And the counter guy add on and said "Unless u want to wait for few MONTHS la, then u can TRY la" i am speechless and walk away from there.
I call Machines@One U right after i leave there to ask them whether are they still accept iPhone booking, the person who answer the call say YES, OF COURSE, and answer my question politely.
So, i rush to One U to place my order, and now waiting for their call !

Cheers

I have heard about the 10months 0% before. The procedures are different. If i'm not mistaken, U need to swipe full amount at the shop first then contact the bank to make it as installment. Then they will review ur request. I think its a bit risky since it is subject to approval. Just my 2 cents. ^.^

QUOTE(MaikeruRyu @ Sep 30 2009, 08:29 PM)
For CIMB 0% installment plan, the procedure is like this. 1st, get the shop name and call to CIMB card centre to inform about the purchase. After they give green light, then proceed to charge your card full amount. Then call to the card centre again to convert the purchase to 0% installment plan. Only 2 options available: 10 mths or 20 mths. 10 mths will attract 3% handling fee while 20 mths will incur 5% handling fee.

So if RM2000, 2000 x 3% = RM60 charges. The charge will be reflected in your statement. Monthly installment will be RM2000 / 10 mths = RM200.

Alternatively u can use EON Bank credit card too. The advantage: No need to pre-inform card centre. They allow longer installment period:
6 mths - 2.5% handling fee
12 mths - 3%
24 mths - 5%
36 mths - 7%

RHB Credit card also allow retail purchase conversion to installment plan, but the handling fee is very high, 9% for only 12 mths.

Yah, that's what the CIMB CC center told me when i call in to double check last night,
usually they will will approve your application if your purchase is at least RM1K and above,
for more details can download this PDF smile.gif

Just saw this news on Taiwan iPhone forum, their side is having 3Gs shortage too, and the good thing is their Telco give away a value rebate to their phone bill which worth NT500 (approx. RM50+)
Now i want to ask, what is the action that our lovely Maxis take to all the long waiting iPhone 3Gs customer?

Congra Bro ! Mine to share yours is 16Gb or 32GB? smile.gif

@stevenX
1) You can stick to your current plan and subscribe to iData plan smile.gif
2) Yes, for Maxis Center they only accept Maybank, Public Bank, HSBC & Citibank. Other than that, you may need to get it from MEP store wink.gif
3) Check here http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/
