aww~ Gud thing that he's not curling into ball the first time you picked him up. He must be very playful tongue.gif

Best is to let him explores the new environment.

he doesnt seem to like to play with any of the toys i've given him though. is that normal? he only likes to attack plastic bag. he'll chase the plastic bag everywhere and drag it around.

Haha no wonder u post at 4.00am in the morning shocking.gif . He is the naughtiest among his sibling. Hedgie can run very fast and do the "drift" when cornering biggrin.gif No wonder the cartoon is call Sonic the hedgehog.

The cinnamon I sold in the 1st batch got really BIG BIG ear and LONG Spike on his forehead, I really miss him so much cry.gif . BTW their father is actually very "handsome", I think their big ear inherited from my male hedgie.

that's normal. ahaha... hedgehog likes to dig & burrow, so don't expect that he act like a cat to toys.

Honestly, you cage is too small for the hedgehog. They need at least 2 square feet (2 feet x 1 feet) of space.
The flooring isn't quite suitable, in my opinion, because it has 'holes'.

Get a bigger cage so your hedgie can move around more.
And take out the toilet floor mat from the cage. Shred some newspaper and toilet paper to use as the bedding instead. smile.gif

One of my hedgehogs stay in this one.
This is what most hedgehog owners do:

My other hedgehog stays in this :

Here's his makeshift cage.

I don't use bedding because it's difficult to clean and my hedgehogs prefer to sleep on a hard surface.

Sure, he/she'll definitely poop and pee but I can just wipe it off with a tissue paper. smile.gif
No need to dig through wood shavings, looking for dried up poop.

I placed a clear piece of plastic on the floor so it's easy to just clean the plastic sheet before putting it back in every week or so to maintain a relatively clean environment. biggrin.gif
