Hello everyone... excellent forum.. i've been following it for the past 3 days or so.

I have a question regarding the purchase of the iPhone 3GS. I will be in KL for 3 days starting the 20th of August. I would like to purchase an iPhone 3GS with a HotLink pre-paid plan. I have not booked an iPhone with Maxis (can't pay 200 because i'm not in KL).

Do you guys have any idea or know of anyone who has gone and purchased an iPhone over the counter without having a booking? Any idea if Maxis will have enough stock? or do you think they may sell-out by the 20th of August?

By the way, I notice I only got 29.xGb.... Those who bought 32G also get 29GB? I wonder where the 2.xG goes where?

Protection for ur i3gs is most important. My cousin used all his saving money like about Rm1k to buy all the good casing for his itouch.
I am waiting for my i3gs at the moment now. Somehow, if anyone of u get the i3gs, can please post some picture and let us drool.gif JEALOUS some?

Yes you can. In fact, registering is free ... obviously .. you only need to pay once you buy applications from the store. When that comes, you will need to maintain your credit card information for your profile.

I'm also the 1st batch that pre-order the 32gb. i went to the maxis centre last friday n the ask me to come on 5th of august. b4 that did u receive the sms from them ?

yo bro, my advice is do not put any protection on it just yet. give it a good 7 days try to see if there is any hardware defect on the phone. just to be on the safer side.

Yes, I did, it said Aug 5ft...

you should either go down to the center or give them a call.. I believe the phones should be there already...

Yeah,from my experience on collecting my 32gb on 31/7 in Miri. The stock has arrived,but they let the 16gb buyer to take first cz scare of too many customer. So you can try your luck in the afternoon. If you know anyone who works in the center and be nice to them,they will let you collect the iphone 32gb earlier. from my experience,cz I know a representative inside the maxis center,so she call me up at 1.40pm on 31/7 and tell me that I can collect my 32gb already. And during that hour,most 16gb buyer has collect their iphone.

same thing happens when you buy hard drives and thumb drives from any other manufacturer.

my 16GB 3GS shows 14.3 GB instead of 16 GB. LOL

Normally when you buy a thumbdrive or harddrive, the bigger you buy the more space will be gone for system file and everything that needs memory to operate. That's the law that everyone must understand. Even you buy an 1 terabyte harddisk,you will only get 9++ gb harddisk space left. And every harddisk will have different memory left. Please understand this and do more research on it...

sent my set in as of this morning. their system is down at the moment. sigh... talk about luck!

anyways, the set is with the CS guy and he will inform me first thing when he manages to log in the service request. i pressed for an answer whether can i get a replacement later, but he also cannot guarantee that as the request has not been logged it yet and is pending for confirmation from the vendor side yawn.gif

still praying hard... hopefully he will call me soon... cry.gif

those who had use 3G, i need to check on something

the sms tone, tri tone, sounded like it has blasted speakers on the 3Gs, whereas the 3G doesnt have such issue, is it this way? cos the sound is pissing me off

Thanks to all that replied about the Capacity difference. Actually I know and expect not to get cun cun 32G, but I did not expect to see a variance of 2GB so much... maybe in the order of say 500-1G diff. Anyway, many other users has feedback through PM that this is the same for them also... so I concluded that this is normal...

gosh.. i called 123.. they told me maxis gardens there is no delay in picking up iphone... their system says there is no reported delay there at all.. everyone get theirs on-time.

i told her.. that's impossible.. don't tell me i'm the first reported case.. strange...

Ok. juz back from Bayan Baru Maxis Centre, Medan Kampung Relau branch. The maxis center is totally a mess. I waited 2 and half hour there until successfully get my iPhone. A lot of funny things happen in between their aircon is spoil so the whole center is like suana. i burned some fats during the wait time , they cant find my name on pre-order list, they thought i order 16gb etc etc
but after all i'm very happy to get my phone , the guy that assist me is a very nice ppl. thumbs up for him.

yesterday i collected my i3GS at maxis center,sunway piramid,for me i think that maxis should try to increase their effectiveness on collection on i3GS flex.gif
when i first came in the maxis center,i was like......so many crowd inside doh.gif
then when i came for collect my i3GS after one hour,the stafftold me need to wait some more shocking.gif
i already waited for one hour then ask me to wait again?
then it took me about one and half hour more to take my i3GS and activate
i think maxis should open more counter to let ppl like us to collect i3GS
anyway the service is good thumbup.gif
we should glad that maxis bring in i3GS rclxms.gif
