i dun think the initial booking details you printed out before paying the RM200 deposit are important. It is the receipt after you have paid RM200 that is important. Your receipt should have the model you want as well as the plan and confirmation of the payment. Those details are good enough for you to collect the iphone on 31st.

you just need to show your official receipt for the deposit payment and IC, then u can collect your brand new iphone...

another two weeks to ago, how suffer to wait for the time to fly...

but wats in my mind is y all d hassle of producin booking numbers when infact, the maxis resellers dun really need dem. if they dun gimme the iphone on d speculated date, im gonna create a fuss and collect my deposit lar tongue.gif haha.. see if we can buy one on dat day via direct full payment in maxis centres.

Yup, if the deposit is not for securing a unit of iPhone but for the registration, then why people that wish get prepaid plan need to pay so much? I can just grab a Hotlink starter pack and wait until Maxis launch the phone... doh.gif

The reason that I can see why Maxis is asking for deposit is to roughly estimate the number of iphone 3gs required to be shipped to Malaysia. I may be wrong, but I believe the stocks are not here yet and that is why their deadline is 24th so that they have enough time to get the stock shipped here. If they have asked only booking without payment, that would be suicidal as probably only 50% would be interested and the extra stock would be deemed useless. I guess they have learned from the previous iphone 3g mistake.

Just like you pointed out; Maxis need a rough figure of units that needed to be order right? So, by right those who had paid for the deposit will get their phones as expected, since we should have higher priority than those walk in customers, right?

It wouldn't do Maxis much good if they ffk those buyers that already paid for the deposits; it will only bring more bad news for their service to other potential customers..

Knowing the rough number is one thing, getting the stock for everyone from Apple is another. What if Apple cannot meet the demand (hopefully they can), tats the only reason why Maxis cannot provide the iphone to everyone.

@cheaterbug,
Er.. what goodies are U referring to? I'd been following this thread but no mention of any goodies from Maxis.

@xandman,
hMmm.... hari ini baru dapat ah?! Thought it was Wed but nevertheless I'm sure you're enjoying the speed biggrin.gif - told U U'll haf no regrets with the upgrade biggrin.gif

@Cyrus2k,
I don't work for Maxis but I'm sure Maxis will give preference to those who's paid the RM200 deposit. They're also asking for preference so that they're able to accommodate everyone with the request and make sure everyone gets what they want; assuming if 2000 people booked the i3GS 16GB White and they only have 2000 units of that said model, they'll keep for those who's paid. However, if 2500 people asked for the same mode, I guess Maxis will just have to turn away the last 500 of those who requested for that colour and offer them the other colour or something like that.

@janson_kaniaz,
If U can wait, I'm sure Maxis will be able to accommodate everyone biggrin.gif

@tinker
My post was moved from the other thread. Before me was someone saying he had a chat with maxis staff, and something about goodies. So i immediately replied asking about the goodies.

Added on July 19, 2009, 8:10 pmive talk to the maxis personnel yesterday and i found out that the u can use the existing prepaid number without have to buy a new prepaid card or any sort of payment... just pay the amount and then over there just choose ur plan (of course like myself im going for the prepaid plan.)

and after chit chat with him, he told me that the shipping of the iphone 3gs will arrive today (on 19th july) and will be distribute to all the participant outlet. hope he's telling me the truth thou.....

and just want to share some information with u guys... the bookings only valid until 24th july 2009, and after that no more bookings and what i heard is u'll be given some goodies? (thats what ive been told, so cross ur fingers)

just wanted to share with my fellow friends who's still in the dark about the maxis offer...

thnks...

@xandman,
rclxms.gif I told U, U'll love the i3GS! If U had decided earlier U wouldn't have had to wait this long tongue.gif <rubbing salt on wound>

@cheaterbug,
Yeah I figure as much - the other thread is meant for discussions on the rate plans; anything else on booking should be on this thread instead hence our Mod moved it for U. I also kinda figured out what U meant cause I read the other discussion after I responded to your post biggrin.gif

I didn't read about these goodies earlier so I wasn't able to check with my Maxis Insider; however, I think the goodies will probably be premium items. I suspect it could be during the PC Fair to boost sales? *shrugs* Anyhow, no point speculating about it here until it's been officially announced so let's put a close on this topic until it resurfaces as an official announcement from Maxis biggrin.gif

I agree wholeheartedly! My 3G S is way faster than my iTouch (if that's a fair comparison)
Also I'm quite happy with the battery life. It lasted for more than a day for my usage

Hi,

Does anyone know if Maxis is going to give us a confirmation on your collection date when you make the pre-booking payment or we can only find out a few days after the pre-booking deadline on the 24th? I'd like to know the collection date during/before making the pre-booking payment as I might not be around after 31st July.

@allornothing,
Battery is really subjective because it depends on what and how U utilise the phone. If U just use it for calls and don't do anything else, it probably can last U for more than 3 days tongue.gif

Also, am not sure if it's right to compare the i3GS to the iPod Touch *shrugs* I don't have one and never used an iPod so can't make the comparison.

The receipt we get doesn't show the model/date/plan details anyway. But its important becoz it shows you HAVE paid the non-deposit RM200, thus ensuring you your unit on collection day. Its the email printout that contains all the rest.

Check ur receipt and that email to confirm.

Yes..we can see those questions asked over and over again. These forumers should do the forum a favor and call Maxis or Machines to enquire "if" they offer installment plan at all.

Given that tinkerbel mentioned that Maxis does not offer installment plan, they only option is to ask Machine or any outlets that are offering the iPhone 3GS.

We are making the best effort to provide as much infos as we can and for those who diligently providing information, thank you for helping and indeed appreciate your support.

And again, we are not Maxis representative and are not paid to promote them. Just facilitating and helping others to choose the best rates and plans.

Cheers

Got an email reply from Machines that they do not accept zero percent installment for the iPhone 3Gs
