hi guys..i got a prob..my kitten doesn't really eat as much as i would love her to eat..i bought blackwood for her..and she actually nibbles just a few..gave her some canned food from firskies,and she seems to be loving it.should i change the kibbles from BW to RC?it kinda worries me coz,she seems to prefer wet food than kibbles..i tot wetfood consists around 20% meat and the rest is only like water..pls help.

almost all cats are like that.. if u start feeding them wet food, they will prefer wet over dry... except for a few of my cats thats don't like wet food LOL.. lucky me

what food do you feed your cat before?? if it is RC for sure they will prefer rc than bw... rc taste more yummy than bw.. obviously u can even see from the look of RC which looks more oily and juice from BW which look too dry like iams.

if i'm a cat i will demand for RC and also orijen eheheheh....

so if u feeding ur kitten rc before, i guess u need to change it back to what she love.. else she will start demand for wet food all the time.

by the way, if u feed rc before, shouldnt you be mixing it with bw when u change it? mixing it with old food will also help for them to get use with the new food.

else stop feeding that wet food, before they turn into addiction mode.. you can try just leave the BW in the bowl.. and monitor it from day to day... if there is decrease of amount, meaning your cat will still eat it if they are hungry (no choice right)... and later they will get used with that brand... remember, cats are fussy like a DIVA!

some wet food brands are good... but some are not.. the good one is always expensive like Science Plan.. they have meat product instead of the cheap fish.. they have meat, chicken, turkey, etc. which contain hight protein n fat.

and yes, wet food has more water... water is very important for cats... lacking of it will turn them into dehydration mode and die. that's the reason why, when u have sick cat, u will offer wet food to attract them eating and drinking (water from wet food).. so they stay back healthy like before. vet do not offer dry food to sick cat.. because sick cat obviously lack of water.

cat eat dry food will need more water than who is eating wet food. since the wet food itself has water already, so they dont drink much.

so both have pro and con...

pro = easy to get, cheaper, eat to feed, convenience, help to reduce tar tar on teeth, all in one nutrition if u get the premium food
con = must need to drink alot of water

pro = they love it so much, alot of water so u dont have to worry about lacking of water, easy for them to chew, cheap if u get alil bit quantity..
con = bad breath, tar tar build up on teeth, addiction and will always want it.

ok.so do u think its a good idea for me to try orijen?theres a guy online here selling orijen for rm67 for 2.5kgs..it states there for cats and kitten all breed.i still have a lot of BW left..thing is, i forgot what the old owner use to feed my Pixie....still thinking of changing the food to orijen..

You should try what Elfreakz suggested.
Don't keep changing the food to fit your cats whims.
Your cat will eat the kibbles when he or she is hungry.
Also if you want to change the food you should do it slowly.... meaning mix old food and new food together and slowly decrease the old food and increase the new food.
My cats used to eat RC too and when I changed to BW they just sniff sniff and walk away!
But I refused to give in and in the long run they gave in and ate the BW until today

Well... the same case happened to my friend who has 11 cats in the house.
She also feeds the strays around her apartment.
Because of her neighbour who complained she was also served with a letter from DBKL.
However because of her love for the cats she fought and negotiated with DBKL.
So... DBKL said that as long as her 11 cats stayed in the apt she is allowed to keep her cats however the strays had to go
So my good samatarian friend caught all the strays and sent to her father in law in the kampung so all ended well.

i just bought the ear cleaner, last time i bought the ilium ear mites drop, but forgot to buy the ear cleaner, but the vet give Hartz brand as she doesn't have Ilium Octiclean...but after use it, really good, fast in melting the wax...

Don't keep changing the food.. why? because end of the day you don't know which is suitable for your cats. Different cat = different owner = different preferences.

keep changing it will not only making the cat stomach stress, but also hole in your wallet hehehe.

all cat like human will feel shock for new food.. slowly they get used with it as daily food.

last time my cats never like Science Plan.. and now? they are crazy over it..

so stay with the currently food.. try to avoid the wet food, else you will have a super DIVA cat that will write what she/he want to eat everyday infront of your bedroom door

normally small kitten very less to have problem with choosing food.. since growing kitten will eat anything they see... but again don't teach them with the wet food.. only if u r willing to spend and prepare wet food for every eating time.

Good to hear that.. the ear cleaner liquid will always help to make the wax soft... some cats, the next day it will become more dirty... why? because just now u clean with the ear cleaner, so some of it go into the ears and soak making the wax soft... when ever the cat shake the ears, that soft part go out from the ear, which u see the next day. keep cleaning it, and dont forget the ear mites drops

you cat might hate that process repeated.. but believe me, they will satisfy later on

btw, juz curious,,how ofeten do u recommend me to bath my 2 mth old kitten?and about the ear wax thingy, i mean, should i do it or juz send it to the grooming centre?do u do it every week?

1 times in 2 weeks is enough.. if they are not dirty or do not have any parasites. even 1 times a month is ok if they are always clean. but for 2 mth old, u need warm water, and make sure u dry it straight away after bath.

you can bath yourself... if your cat life span is 20 years old.. you need to learn bath your cat, rather than visiting grooming centre for 20 years

i only go to grooming centre if i need them to trim alil bit of the furs... like around the paws, and private part

eh since u already buy the ear cleaner + ear drop.. u can do it yourself.. why send to grooming centre?? no point buying that 2 product...

like i said, ear cleaner + ear drop u need to do it as what the instruction given... if im not mistaken 4-7 days right.. so clean it 4 to 7 days .. 2 times a day... until u see no more wax come out after u clean it.

ear cleaner first, use cottor or q-tips or tissue.. soak it in the clean, and wipe insde the ears..
then apply few drops ear mites drop..

Guys.....i just received some VERY farked up news about my baby girl Raisa....she is currently at the vet clinic in upm serdang...she is VERY sick....her kidneys have totally shut down due to her age, causing her to be dehydrated and drastic lost of weight. Also her fur is dull and her breath stinks....the vet is trying to revive her kidneys with dialysis...she has to be admitted...will see the result in about 3 days...if the kidneys responds, then its all good...just need to feed her special food for awhile...if not, her chances of survival are very minimal...might have to put her down...

Bloody hell, I hate this...shes been with me for NINETEEN YEARS! How the hell am I supposed to live my life without my baby girl? Shes been with me half my life...i cant imagine life without her. I DONT WANT to imagine life without her.....

Im so farking scared right now....i pray she pulls through...shes always been a very strong lady and have pulled through some mad situations before... Oh god I would even give up my fiance right now just so that shes gets better....

Help me pray guys, pray that she gets better...PLEASE!

First of all, im sorry to hear about your baby girl..and the sickness that attack her..

Secondly, i do hope you did not keep on saying that word like "fark", "bloody hell", etc.. you sound angry more than you feeling sad. so kinda distracted when reading like, errkk "should i feel sorry or what .. sound like mad" ehehehe... but i do understand, if you mention all that words because you blame yourself for what u have done to her, maybe lack of attention and etc.

Thirdly, you are still consider lucky than people who suddenly lost their beloved cats immediately with no health track. My cat past away with no 100% result. vet can only give sickness possibilities on what happened before her death. i was in shocked like nobody actually care, since she past away after 2 hours struggling for death.
Since you have time now, spend more time with her.. i do not have time to spare with my RIP cat. cos she seem to be in good condition with no sign of sickness at all. You still have time to prepare for her and yourself. i do believe you know the best between you and your baby girl.

I'll pray for your beloved cat, cos i miss my RIP cat

Yup, all of them spayed except for 1 since he is still a lil kitty.
They are not 'chatty' cats, rather quiet. But we do hv strays around. And its mating season, I can see/hear d strays howling & walking around looking 4 love hehe...

D problem is 2 of my neighbors (distance) come complained 2 me abt cat stool infront of their house. Which I've explained they were not my cats doing since it looked gooey & vry smelled strong (kibble eating cat hv kinda hard stoll isnt it?). I've xplained there r many strays around, it must b them!

Problem is their pemalas attitude, senang2 je point finger 2 my cats sbb nk suruh I clean 4 them.

Thanks 4 ur support, I've made my mind...nobody will take my babies away...i'm gonna fight tooth & nail 4 them

yes like i mention just now... cat is territory type.. the stray smell something fishy inside your house... which is another indoor cat.. thats why they poo and pee infront your house. even worst sometimes the MALE stray spray their strong odor. it happen to me.. what i do, i go and clean it...scrub the poo and pee outside my door. but now seem to be LESS happen infront my door... i dont know why, but i still see or hear stray cat sound... normally if i wash the outside floor i will use clorox so the poo n pee smell won't attach on the floor forever

since the problem occur because i have cat inside my apartment. if you see other house, the stray didnt disturb but only my door LOL. so obviously they attract with my cats smell inside.. even worst, when they pee on the door, the urine go into my house, since there's a hole right under the door LOL.

nobody do complaints here... although they did put No Pets before, but someone taken it off the wall. stray cats can be seen around. or maybe a house cat that live out door. because if u walk around this apartment staircase, sometimes u see cat food bowl... they are feeding them...the next block u can also see long hair cat walking and playing at the car park oh ya, people keep rabbits too i saw few people bring beautiful rabbits...

Waaa...really nice neighborhood la u hv. Vry pet friendly. Just hope people @ my place r more understanding...@ least if they dun want to help those strays, dun prevent others.

Been monitoring Felix's furball incident for few days now after took him to see the vet on Monday and everything seems fine but one thing which worries me still is his appetite. Felix always has nice appetite before he went for spay surgery especially during the month he switched from Iams to Orijen. Now he's fine too and vet confirmed he's healthy. Vet suggested to get a supplement to make Felix grow on his appetite if I'm concern about it. Will the supplement works like wonder?? The hairball meds in other hand is Felix's favorite too bad I can't give him much to prevent diarrhea. If the supplement does work, would Felix grow fat?? I hope it does coz I need a kitty pillow .

cats are like human too.. different sizes. longer cat, shorter cat, fatter cat, slimmer cat...

it is important to start growing a cat from kitten age... like when they are 2 months old, let them play like cat, let them eat like a cat.

i prefer a average size or slim cat. as long as healthy.

i have a fat cat too... what's pity about her is... she have to lay on the wall to groom her self. while the other average and slim cat can just seat on the floor and bend their body to do clean. while this fat cat, have to lay on something so she can twist her body, without it, she will roll on the floor LOL

she hardly play... very lazy.. when playing, she's always the slower one to hide LOL.. she can't hide under the sofa.. not enough room for her.. she can't hide under the tv cabinet... too small for her.. and of ya... its very hard for her to jump from one place to another place. she's always this mouse on the floor being bully by the others..pity right?

she's on serious diet now.. she may not like but she must do it.

does the vet saying your cat is too skinny anyway??? u need to see the father and mother.. are they skinny? if yes, potentially your cat will also look the same size as their parents.
