I just had two applications for credit cards at two different banks rejected. should i be worried? lol..

Maybe or maybe not. What sort of cards have you tried to apply and are you eligible or not ? (e.g You're holding a classic type with low CL and you are trying to apply for a Plat card .... highly likely to be rejected lah. No offense, just an example)

Additionally, it depends on whether

1. You have cc's already or not and how many ?
2. Have you defaulted on anything before ? Or disputed anything within any banks or not ? (And maybe you have not paid your mobile bills for months till you get letter from telco)
3. Have you become a guarantor before or not and you so called "friend" decides to take a payment break ?

nope, i havent had any cc before. just started working for 8 months. The banks called me, saying that my address on the ic and home address is different, but i already gave proof that im staying there.

I applied for 6banks and 4 rejected me ... its normal since ur juz started to work unless ur pay is more than RM2.5k and bank still rejected u...Rm2k and below bank will reject too

Am sure you have quite nice collection on CC too. All my card are AF free except Amex Plat CC. Now considering to downgrade the card and also placing my application for SCB Infinite as well.

Just got my Amex bill with the RM800 AF reflected on the bill. Looks like I need to call them and see if I can get a waiver or will have to just ask them to downgrade my account to a Gold card.

hm... i wouldn't want to continue my platinum membership too and my next AF will be around October ,and also because the amex gold offer for the MR seems in par with their platinum which is the reason tempting me to downgrade . ( have gain enough from amex like longines, ipod, 10x platinum partners ) . If they can waive the 2nd year AF , perhaps that will be the only reason i will keep it

I remember one of the forummer (hye or tgeoklin) here mention that prompt card application only need RM60k current CL to qualify. No problem for you lah tinky ( highest net worth individual for women category @ LYN)

Even if your income is slightly less than the requirement, the bank will still consider to approve it. Just use your Amex Plat cc as a reference, I am pretty sure the CL is good enough to meet the eligibility. However, it's up to you to make the decision, whether you need the card NOW or you don't really utilise the main benefit (such as access to plaza premium lounge, golfing facilities, etc).

Banks assess your ability to pay based on a few factors. Income is only part of them. They also look into your job nature, company, commitment, debt status and spending pattern, just to name a few.

Is it normal if your card number appear in the Merchant Copy receipt?? Coz I get my copy with only last 3 digits number showing?

p/s: I'm new to this CC thingy. This is my 1st CC & my 1st purchase using it. ;-)

There're two Maybank CC centre. One at 1 Utama and the other at Menara Maybank (Jalan Tun Perak).

That day, I went to Menara Maybank CC centre to redeem on the spot. The Smart Tag is out of stock. Therefore, I changed my mind to redeem Petronas vouchers. Waited for some time and the officer in-charged with the gift redemption is not there. I was able to check my TP point with the terminal they have. I also returned a survey form and 3000 TP will be rewarded. Let's see if I'll get this TP.

Just complete a survey form and get 3000 TP in return? It sounds good!
Hope it's not something like a 10-page form.
