QUOTE(truth_seeker_09 @ Sep 3 2009, 09:55 AM) For Citibank, my experience, u need to apply online will be faster, which means you submit ur details online. then some1 will call you. Then that sale will help you to push it faster? that was what i did. i think thats not a real online application for citibank. its that u send ur phone number online to them and the next day the agent will call u to send u the application form online. u still have to print out the form in order to 'fill' them. It ends up i had to fax the form back to them. and seriously i dont think the sale did push it faster...coz after 2 weeks i called its still processing.... why you want Citibank? i gonna to cancel all my cc from that bank.. haha.. sorry being anti citibank.. haha.. make sure you have citibank branch around you. else forget about it. may i ask why do u need citibank branch around u to have the cc? |

btr999: when u got problem with the card and if you are in urgent. you will crazy for calling/using their Phone banking service. this cannot that cannot. they can do this and that only. u cant even really able to talk to person in charge also. (not sure if other bank also bcome like this?)
well, not going to share the details story. in short they are just slow and not really concern about customer needs. furthermore, i don't see any good feature about their card. for the discount also cannot compete with other cc. maybe the gift for new applicant will be more interesting? that's all. |

We avoid being judgemental about the product unless it is substanciated by a story. If you have a bad experience then share it with us here if you have nothing to hide and willing. Otherwise I guess we will be in bewilderment as to what was your bad experience with Citibank. CC products and experiences differ from one person to another and not necessary you have a bad experience, everybody else will have the same problem too. Same thing with feature, gifts and discount - different people will have different expectations. Unfortunately Citibank does not meet yours but were you expecting the bank to go all out to shower and pamper you with priviledges that are individually tailored to you ? Even a platinum card holder from this bank would not get such treatment! If you don't like them then just cancel the card ... simple, no headache involved and no need to be upset. These days if a bank refuse to approve my card application (even more if they ask me to do things which I don't fancy) then I told them to just withdraw the application and thank them. It bewilders them all the time coz they expect me to shout and be upset. I myself always have a story about a particular card product and I did share the story here and even offline. (in PM to whoever asked me) I don't work for Citibank to say the things in their defense above. (I too have my fair share of good and bad experience with them) I just find it puzzling that we always come across people who rants when things don't meet their expectation (not just here but in other threads as well) but in actuality did not understand what was the product offering and whether it meet the person's expectations of what the product should deliver. QUOTE(keeseng12 @ Sep 3 2009, 10:34 AM) if that's the case, meaning i'll just need to key in an additional PIN when purchase anything online? hehe, the extra security is that you'll need to key in the additional PIN lor (people feels safer when required to do more verifications ma Hmm, i don't see the extra security purpose here. Please correct me if i'm wrong. although not all websites support that |

If that website supports the extra security, highly likely it will reject your card if you are unable to provide the PIN. It is just an extra layer of security to ensure that your card info are not being misused. Bear in mind online fraud can happen without the physical card being compromised. Means you still have the card in your possession but someone is abusing it online coz just need details. With the extra security ... ahhh ... that's something only the card holder would know.although not all websites support that |

QUOTE(miaomiaolala @ Sep 3 2009, 01:43 PM) More often than not, the PIN management in located in your respective Internet Banking system. Sorry I can't be of much help here. How I work mine out was I registered and created the PIN whenever a merchant site redirect me to my bank's website. Again ... not all local cc have this security feature and i don't know why this feature is not a standard feature across all cc similar to the EMV implementation. (EMV = Chip based card ... Malaysia was one of the first country to be EMV compliant thanks to the rampant petrol cc abuse several years back) |

i believe you are reffering to Mastercard SecureCode or Verified by Visa programme, it's available at selected banks, those that I know of are Eon Bank , MBF , HSBC, Public Bank , not sure about others

the maybank islamic visa petronas, 1 of the feature is non compounding charges. does that means the finance charges is 17.5% per annum only for 1 month & the following month no finance charge for the carry forward outstanding?
and if you have this cc with you, no need the petronas mesra kad anymore? |
