Just make sure that u turn ON Airplane mode while using wifi.
This will disable the 3G/EDGE services from local telco.

No la, no need to turn ON the airplane mode. Just remember to turn off the "enable 3G" & "Mobile Data" if u r using Wifi for ios 4.1.

Yep just turn off data. No need to turn on airplane mode. For me , i get 5gb/mth so ni problem at all. To others, dont think when you on wifi coverage, 3g/edge not transmit data or u'll be suprise by higher bill from maxis.

The officer at 123 also told me to ON the "Air Plane" mode when using wifi to avoid cellular data being tranferred, this is crazy we cant receive any call if we do that.

Maxis employed bunch of idiots that cant count the bill properly and cant give advice.

guys, need help to find out Data Plan for celcom. I'm just activated my Xpac prepaid. my credit decrease so faster la... i have turn of all the necessary function, but it still decrease my credit...

any suggestion? which the cheapest data plan? I'm only using around 200mb per month

for maxis data plans (regardless 100MB,iData or iValue etc.)

for 1st statement you guys rec some might be charged for extra usage,this is because of the pro-rated

i take owikh84's case,he activate the data package on 25/10 till 06/11 (only about 13 days : 100MB/30days x 13 days = about 44MB is owikh84 was entitled but he definitely exceeded the limit he was entitled )

Like mine Bill Cycle is 7th of each month.

I registered for plan on 3rd, mine is 1gb per month.

So 1 day en-titled for 30mb average.

Checked on my 1st bill.

No trouble yet..

Yes there is unlimited data plan for maxis, I subscribed it last May and another forumer got it last October at the same place.

a lot of people out there not aware of the pro-rated like u do.i mean if think logically,if u activated the svc for 10 days but u expect the telco to give u full data for 1 mth?

as for unlimited,it's only available for certain groups of customers(corp/SME,EBD etc)

noted that when I went to check at Maxis CS yesterday.
what I thought previously was I will be charged RM18 from 25/10 till 25/11 within 100MB limit.
from ur above statement means I will be entitled 100MB if I activated the data package from 6th monthly.

I believe your statement date aka BC/bill cycle is 7th,so any service that you wish to activate,remember to activate any service on 7th

Just something to share with u all.. My friend she is using maxis and her data exceeded abt 100mb and her maxis bill was RM1k so maxis charge her to maximum RM250. After that we make noise at MC KLCC till a supervisor come out and finally they waive RM60 for her.. Better than nothing la... Condition is this is ur first time first mth of ur data package and u must be a prompt payment...

Hahaha...Nola maxis wont have chance anymore cos after the RM60 waive we go Digi and port liao....
