Can use the "enable 3G" setting to off the data usage?
setting < general < network

Or for this option, 3G is off but Edge will be on?

yes thats rite but in order to do it, your Iphone needs to be JB smile.gif this is my own personal opinion only, why sacrifice the features when all you need is to be careful with your usage? my cap is 500MB per month and with all my notifications turned on..im only reaching about 300MB monthly...

I think sort of app like this
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/at-t-mywire...d309172177?mt=8
would certainly benefit all here.....
sadly we din see Maxis/Digi releasing something like this for us....
infra cant? i doubt tat.....

if want, let's urge our telco to release such app to us...so that we can monitor our usage....

Sadly no, sometime it can still leak. Personal experience here, just update whenever possible and turn off push notifications too. I've tried everything, it wont give you a 100% blockage.

No problem for me until today the sbsetting shown the data ip 127.0.0.1 and I can go online. I off the edge and data but stil not working. Can anyone help me on this?

you will need data connection to fully utilized the smart phone. High data usage will be the norm, so i think telco did the right thing by having it 'auto configure' to connect to 3G or Edge/gprs. If you don't need the applications, then why go for iphone ?
