I just called them, they give reasons such as 'oh iphone is a smart phone, we can't do anything to stop your iphone from using edge/gprs/3g

i want to tell her... so iphone is smart, means maxis people are stupid? XD

hmm might be a good idea... i tried calling maxis call center two times with two different person, both tell me that i can't get it... T-T

same la..i asked maxis call center they say cant..then i went to maxis center the guy at the front say cannot. then the time i want to convert my line the girl can do it

Guys, i'm a bit confuse here. Say if i would to take iValue1 from Maxis, do i need to subscribe to data plan as well? I thought with iValue1, there is already a free 500MB data comes with it, no?

You won't need to sign up for any extra plans if the plan oredi comes with free data U will however need to pay should ur data usage exceed the 500MB.

you can ask them to block you but once you reboot/restart your phone, it will auto connect again. Smart phone

for all those who tried to ask maxis cs to disable 3g& gprs and failed .. wad u all have to do is juz cal them n say u wan to disable it ...need not to mention ur using iphone.but do take note tat dun remove ur sim once u disabled ur data settings..if not the iphone will somehow auto enable ur data settings...

chrome shelled regios..if i wan to switch to digi i've done so since i got very nice number for digi. but since all my friends are using maxis. no choice

too bad then..cos i oso wan 2 switch 2 digi..im maxis user =_= ...however...very funny bcos each year like got different batch of frens use either mostly maxis or mostly digi ..>< ..then when some lost contact....left 50:50 xD

but if i'm not mistaken, Digi is one flat rate for all networks across the country rite? so doesn't matter if your friends are on digi, maxis, or celcom, etc....

they told me the same too, cannot disable it. so i just login to my account, uncheck the 3G and problem solve. when i need to use 3G, i just send *136# to activate it and login to account to disable it again when i dont need it anymore.

haihz... without an app to keep track the usage. gonna be hard to estimate.
the iphone default usage is pretty much inaacurate.

it just showed 400mb++ of usage(inclusive up/download).
the amount of data usage deviated by a whooping 200mb++ leh.

It's weird ur data counter is off by so much; maybe because ur on a JB set.

Also just what haf u been using the phone for? I've never managed to fully utilise my 500MB.

dint manage to JB the phone due to some complications during restore on the 1st week of usage. was unable to restore it back to 3.1.2 and now stucked with 3.1.3. fw.

to be precise. upload is at 41mb. download is at 401mb.

ermm... daily facebook-ing(4-5times daily). livescore(3-4times a weekend). google maps (less than 10times during last month). downloading some apps(though MOST apps are downloaded with wifi or from itunes). below average gaming (with auto scores uploading etc feats from the games)

but for now, i guess i will use wifi whenever i can. since i have wifi in my office, and at my house as well.

If you download software thru. WIFI, do make sure that your phone is not go into sleep mode. Once in sleep mode, the WIFI will cut itself off after 4mins and your phone will switch to 3G to continue your download. This can fill up your monthly data allocation easily without your knowing.
