after reading this thread. i really need to advise my gf to be careful when her iphone with ivalue100 comes. will definitely install the application to disable EDGE/3G and will teach her to only enable it whenever she needs to use data.

Maxis is getting kinda scary lately with the excessive data charges. i've experienced it myself before but not on the iphone though. luckily mine wasn't alot because it was still within my monthly commitment range and i only paid extra 40 bucks. but still, like everyone mentioned. we have no hard proof to show that we really did not use it.

Just changed to DiGi last week. Took up the unlimited broadband thing, so now I dont even have to worry about being overcharged for data... biggrin.gif

good choice. i've always think that unlimited data is the way to go for iphone. seeing how Maxis charges an arm and leg for it. Digi's unlimited data plan is the next best thing since sliced bread.

i've change my previous digi plan to the new 50/month package + the unlimited 3G at 58/month.... i just check my bill online and its 280++  rclxub.gif
my normal usage for calling is around 70-80 with the old plan and the new plan is cheaper though..
seems like digi wants to be a dracula like maxis  shakehead.gif
but still i think they will waive it for me  smile.gif so i am going to call them up in another day or two  whistling.gif

i read it before that digi's bill is very scary. they will charge you data usage as usual. but then when come the end of the month, they will waive it because you have unlimited data. to me, its just marketing ler. let you see the amount big big, then deduct from unlimited data plan. make customer siok! smile.gif

Last night I connected my iphone to my PC and iTunes asked me "to update to new carrier settings".. i proceeded and now I can't set the APN settings under General>Network anymore.

My phone just sucked up RM5 of my credit overnight laying idle.. sweat.gif

Oh, I'm on DiGi btw..

or you can try using sbsettings to disable your data with Data Toggle if your phone is jailbroken though.

hmm... how come v dont have apps like what sg iphong users have??

google around and search on appstores, shud easily find data usage trackers apps to keep in track with their data usage. (exp: SingTel data usage, iBBOM, Broadband on Mobile)

they can key in their mobile number, and package type/monthly data allowance, set their billing due date, etc. and walllllla....

they can simply keep track of their data usage. and receive alert and how much time do they have until the next billing date, so they can fully utilize their data.
*
because, if we have apps like this. Maxis will:

1. lose money because everyone won't accidentally exceed their data usage.
2. users will make full use and maximize their data usage base on their data plan.

but still, you can occasionally check the accumulated data usage using the *100# > 8:perkhidmatan > 2:internet mudah alih > 6:check status.
*
after choosing mobile internet, i only have

1. Hour
2. Day
3. Check 1Hour/1 Day pass
4. cancel auto renewal
0. back

no status.....

but if i'm not mistaken, Digi is one flat rate for all networks across the country rite? so doesn't matter if your friends are on digi, maxis, or celcom, etc....

correct me if i'm wrong.

LOL I lazy scroll thru the 62 pages ma...tell me la pls....do impress me that iphone user are helpful and nice ppl hahaa....getting it this afternoon!

clearly you do not understand what are you purchasing from Digi.

if you actually bothered finding out more about the iDigi plans. data quota is 1GB, any exceeded is free of charge but speed will be throttled. so you do not get overcharged like what happens in Maxis.

Please be less ignorant and be a smart consumer.
