Excellent setup Jack. How big is your room? Ya, I be intrereste to set up a room like that as well.

Thanks. My room is about 11' x 19'. The 110" screen is kind of squeezing the front space a bit though.. wished i had a wider room.. smile.gif

Hi,

Dont de 2011 hv analog ins?? If so u can get a mid range player like de oppo bdp83 to hook up to it .. u'll b gud to go..

Ermm, u r willin to change screen position jus to get a svs bin? I d jus as soon get de box n be done wif it.. I wouldnt venture to undertake such a big mod jus for a sub change..

Yes, the 2011 does have the 7 analog in and I do consider the bdp-83 option as well. I saw the deal happening at XtremePlace and quite interested. But I don't have plans to go down to S'pore any time soon. How to bring it back?

Hmm, I got not so good experience with my previous Rel Stadium II box sub, and feel that the cylinder SVS sub gives much better perfromance. Actually I also like the smaller footprint for the bin as well. it's just that the height got into the way when placed in front. Maybe I should audition a SVS box someday to see if it works for me...

Thanks for the advice and am considering to get a new AVR with the the Audyssey thingie.. hoping it can help to equalize the sub as well.  . You're right. I have not heard HD sound so far. sad.gif Was thinking to get a BD player with HD audio decode because my VSX has 7 pre-amp in, BD60 was it but then this oppo BDP-83 is now out.. sweat.gif

HTKAKI, will you be bringing back a BDP-83 from Singapore to poison us??
*
I wouldn't be bringing BDP-83 as I would be busy.

How vast difference is PCM /Analog compares to bitstream? I bet megatron007 has the answer for you tongue.gif Taukeh, time to change your avr? brows.gif

My setup :
Front : Mirage Omni 260
Center : Mirage Omni CC
Surround and rear :Mirage Omni FX
Sub : SVS 20-39 PC+
AVR : Pioneer VSX D2011
Source : TViX 4100SH, PS3

As you can see, I do not have any corner for the bolster  sad.gif . My previous box sub was sitting between the center and front right speakers. I can move the bolster to the front right corner behind the speaker if I shift the whole screeen setup to the left a bit. But it will be quite a bit of work... sweat.gif So I will do it only if I know for sure it can give me a better result..

You could also lay down the cylinder on its side if you don't have the vertical space. I remember reading on AVS that somebody from SVS commented that there shouldn't be any problem laying down the sub on its side biggrin.gif

Thanks. Actually I am quite happy that I have finnally managed to DIY the manual mask for the screen to get the 2.39:1 ratio. Thought for it for many years before finally get it done without costing a bomb. It now makes watching movie with a lot more theater feel because of the "widescope". smile.gif

If no trade in deal then just sell off 2nd hand in this forum or hifi4sale website.

Can share some details about your manual masking system? I suppose masks from top and bottom? What kind of dark material you used for the mask?

Somehow I got pyched to believe cylinder was better too, and that's why without thinking twice I ordered the PC+ when SVS got the export permit to ship direct to Malaysia for the model last year. So now, I am stuck with it and will not be easy to justify to the HM to change it to box again. sweat.gif

Guess I will put priority on getting the HD Audio now, and if can find time and the urge, move the bin to the front to test and make the meausrement to determine whether it's worthwhile to move the screen. Actually I shifted the screen myself up about 1 foot before. So I am well aware of what does it take. Basically it will be the cost of few wall plugs and a day of my time. Wish me luck.. nod.gif

It's about 12feet away.

I won't dare to call it a masking system wub.gif It does cover top and bottom and it's basically just using right angle rack support. I guess it's only ok for dedicated dark room becasue if the room is well lit, you can clearly see the racks. Will try to take some pictures to show later. As for the material, it's actually from long black drapes that I bought from IKEA many years back. I bought it at that time to use it as curtain to darken and reduce the sound reflection at the near side wall when my setup was at the living room. The material is black enough but it definitely doesn't absorb light like black velvet material.

Got a feeling that someone will complain already as this is supposed to be the official subwoofer thread.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Jack28HT, i have the similar problem. Room aint wide enough to put PC12Plus up front as it would be blocking my screen. So, I can't put it at ideal positions (after sub crawl). Ended up at 4th best position.

I had problem worse that all of you guys in here.
I ended up having the sub faced in towards the walls.

Yesterday, i held my breath and just "kan kan lai" revamped my entire living room and rotated my whole setup.
Half way through I almost panic and wanted to give up as I'm not sure if it's gonna help me find a better sub and listening position.
From 8~1in the morning, I sat down when it's all done, ran YPAO and re calibrated with a SPL which I borrowed from "Aiman04" and surprisingly, YPAO did a good job, everything was spot on! And it sounded wonderful.

Yes I had a null area, "htkaki" and "Jack from SVS" was spot on.
Now I took down all my acoustic absorbers, and it still sounds great. Too tired to put them back on and experiment on the improvements.

My thanks to "htkaki" and "Aiman04" for the tools and insights.

Sure no problem, but it ain't mine. Better if you'd ask before hand.
Anyway I still need it for another week, Need to do the room EQ's with panels to harmonize my small little area.
Now I really need to work on the diffuser project liao.

Its in a different league la bro. For sure the pc12+ is way better than the pb10.
As an entry level sub, I would say pb10 would excell in a small room environment, though.
But giving the size of my living room now, pc12+ would give me more headroom as suggested by Jack fr SVS.
