For those interested in SVS NSD subs but not sure whether to get the PB or the PC...this might help you decide.
Here is the reply from Ed Mullen of SVSound when I ask him which is better.
"We recently made a few tweaks to each subwoofer and the amps, and the latest (current production) versions of the PB12-NSD and PC12-NSD have virtually identical FR and max clean output performance. So pick whichever form factor you personally prefer and which best fits into your decor. "

Found this interesting piece of information for SVS subs from another forum.
Hi,
I just went thru the process of deciding which SVS subwoofer to buy. If you are looking for one too, the attached advice from an SVS tech support might help you decide. The SVS tech support guy's replies are in bold:
************************************************
Hi there,
I am going to buy an SVS subwoofer. My application is probably 90% home theatre and 10% music listening.
My room is roughly 6.5m x 3.5m x 3.5m.
Which model do you recommend for my room and where should I place the sub woofer?
*********Here's an idea of what will be required for clean/linear/uncompressed subwoofer operation in your size room at various playback levels:
Low To Moderately Loud: PB10-NSD SB12-Plus
Moderately Loud To Loud: 20-39PCi or PB12-NSD (equal performers)
Loud To Very Loud: 20-39PC-Plus or PB12-Plus (equal performers) PB12-NSD/2
Very Loud to Room-Shaking / Dolby Reference Level*: PB12-Plus/2 dual PB12-NSD or dual 20-39PCi (equal performers) dual 20-39PC-Plus or dual PB12-Plus (equal performers)
*Dolby Reference Level requires clean/uncompressed bass peaks (not continuous levels) of ~117 dB at the listening position.
If you are outside of the USA, please note we currently don't export cylinder models. Placement near the front stage results in seamless blending with the mains/center, with minimal potential for subwoofer localization. Front stage placement also makes it easier to properly phase the subwoofer with the mains/center using the subwoofer distance control.
And why aren't they exporting the cylinder models?
Hi Ed,
Great stuff! Thanks for the sound advice. I am actually located outside the USA. Why aren't the cylinder models exported? Was hoping to get a cylinder one as they are more efficient in design and space.
********They are currently not CE certified. We are working on a design revision to allow export of the cylinders. We get a lot of request for them.**********
The SB12 was looking good till I saw your suggestion. The lower range PB12-NSD with the NSD driver is actually better performer under louder conditions than the SB12 plus with the higher range db12.3 drivers? Wow....cool information. Does it have anything to do with being ported and non-ported?
********The PB12-NSD easily outperforms the SB12-Plus, particularly below 40-45 Hz. Even though the SB12-Plus uses the 12.3 woofer, the laws of physics limit how much performance can be extracted from a 14" cube sealed subwoofer. You are correct, the much larger cabinet and the vented design of the PB12-NSD greatly improve output and efficiency at the deepest frequencies. In fact, the PB10-NSD also outperforms the SB12-Plus below about 40-45 Hz for the same reasons.******
I hope this communication from the SVS tech support helps newbies when they want to buy SVS subwoofers!
Cheers!
Get the idea which SVS to get?

QUOTE(attentional @ Jun 12 2009, 09:26 AM) RM2850 12R RM2250 10R from A&L puchong Eh, they still sell Velo 'R' series? I thought that was discontinued and they only sell the newer 'Q' series. Anyway, that price above can definitely bargain down more. Already the 'Q' series can get cheaper than that.

QUOTE(easternred @ Jun 11 2009, 07:40 PM) Would like to have your firm confirmation on this in order to arrange for expenses and such. You are interested in PB12Plus, right? I am waiting for the quote and response from the floor. As it seems, not many are really keen. If it couldn't fill up to a 20' container. Then, I shall use air freight to bring it in. Will decide on Wednesday. For the rest who is REALLY keen, pls update your name and model no. on the SVS list. If you are ordering on your own esp those in East Malaysia, just indicate (self-order) in the list.
