not automatically "now". I know some malaysian babies (both parent PR) have not get their PR >6 months after application date.

By automatically, I mean there are no additional conditions apart from the minor dependent relationship, to get the PR. I've never heard of a child not getting dependent PR status.

QUOTE(r1v3r)
MY birth cert is to annouce = You are a Malaysian. That it the official document of your ID.

The birth cert just means you were born in Malaysia, not that you are Malaysian. It's the "warna kad pengenalan ibu bapa" which will ultimately decide if you get a warganegara blue IC and Malaysian passport.

There's actually a technical reason to this, it has been measured that the forum database server (mysql) a proportionally longer time to show you the last 10 posts of a 2500-post thread compared to a 5000-post thread as it needs to generate the whole result set and discard the first N-10 posts. On a micro level the extra processing is tiny, but on a macro level consider that we get more than a million thread views daily, and there are threads stretching into double-digit versions. So we've arbitrarily imposed a limit of 2500 posts (which we feel is pretty large) and it's become part of our culture.

After having said all that, I will be happy if a volunteer can start a new thread soon wink.gif

Only a non-technical fella wouldnt understand the complexity of an ever increasing database, and the risk that comes with it.

well, my younger one is still waiting for his PR after 6 months. If I don't get it within a year I will just cancel the application.

is a new born baby without IC and passport but just a Malaysian birth cert stated "Nationality = Malaysian" officialy a malaysian? I am not talking about the condition how to be a malaysian, just the paper of identity for a baby born outside malaysia.

Do the current birth certs state the nationality? To be honest, I haven't seen a birth cert issued less than 20 years ago tongue.gif My birth cert doesn't mention nationality, just the colour of my parents ICs.

If Malaysia keeps getting funnier with its racial and religious rubbish, yes.

Sounds like a programming issue than a user issue... but hey, that's me... a demanding end-user tongue.gif

But anyway... I digress.

Will you be making the same request of the O&G thread? That thread gets higher views per posting but seems to have resisted any similar calls to truncate themselves.

I have been somewhat stuck in a very niche industry over in SG and it's going to take a miracle for me to relocate back to MY. I'm tired of paying rent and actually contemplated on giving up my citizenship for the sole reason of purchasing a re-sale HDB.

Would I be making a dumb mistake?

crapp0, i really doubt any one in the right mind would want to retire in Singapore. Anyway with the recent increase of employers cpf contribution does anyone fear that end year increments would be slightly affected?

Alot of "singaporeans" are retiring in singapore. You would just be one of those ppl, unless you dont become a singaporean. Or would you become a singaporean, earn a bucket load of money and then convert back into a malaysian citizen.

k, my bad. I should mention the specific version of malaysian birth cert.

I born in melaysia after independen so I got "Borang A" Surat Kelahiran (narrow long version), that does not state nationality. Then I apply a copy of my birth cert after I temporary lost it, I got "Borang M" Surat Kelahiran (wide and square version) also no nationality data.

My kids were born in SG, so they got the green colour "Borang W" Surat Kelahiran (A4) that stated in bold ".... adalah warganegara" from Malaysia High Comm.

How does "overcrowding" affects you?

If you compare it to KL, Damansara area the crowd size is pretty much similar.
