Is Shangri-La shop overpriced?

Went there just to browse, saw 18-200VR for sale like mine, but price tag says RM3,288. Aik? I don't remember my dad paying that much when he bought the 18-200VR. I was pretty sure the price was RM2,300 or so. That's RM1,000 difference, almost!

Or could it be 18-200VR II? Didn't have time to ask.. sad.gif

haha, the price is jz for show only
most Malaysian shops r like that
u have to ask them for the real price

is it the card is quite thick n hard, feel like high quality paper?
then it is real Nikon MY warranty
*
Then my D5000 set might not have Nikon Malaysia warranty liao. It only comes with two warranty slips (yellow and white), but not a hard card type. I believe most of us get the similar set. Better call Nikon myself to confirm this as the shop told me it comes with Nikon Malaysia warranty.

does it say on your warranty slips stating NIKON (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. as distributor on BOTH slips? if so i think yours are malaysian sets..so no worries..

i think different models have different type of warranty card
maybe its due to where it is made?
like SB-600 made in china i think is having the yellow n white 2 warranty slips
SB-900 made in Japan is having the hard card warranty
im not sure, best call Nikon MY for confirmation

Just checked www.nikon.com.my on their authorized dealer list. Found the shop that I bought my D5000. I think mine should be in good shape from warranty perspective. smile.gif

Tat's the warranty lar.. whistling.gif .. The yellow is the body (MY warranty) while the white grey one is for the kit lens.. (international warranty).

The next thing u should do is login to tis web site and check ur serial no : see the body is one of the batches tat called back for checkup.

http://www.nikon.com.my/plugins/d5000_verification/index.php?

.. if yes.. then take it to Level 11, PKNS building @ PJ.. behind IJM building... they will do the rest for u. (less than 1.5hr)

Else it's good to register your body with them too..... BUT MAKE SURE U BRING ALONG the original purchase invoice from the shop and the warranty slips with you and u MUST BE FREE OF H1NI... (((( Nikon there really celaka .. they forced me to signed up a declaration that I'm free of the virus, washed my hand with the given ANTI-Bact gel tat looks like KY even though tat stupid gel doesn't work against VIRUS , and get my body temp checked before they started to attend my needs)))) wat the $%^%&%. !!!! mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif

haha... Same thing here... Just sent my d5000 for checkup today. They want me to fill up the form and wash my hand with those gel there then only allow me to get in. After get, before they serve me, check my body temp... Haha..
But it only took 1 hour for the checkup.. Hopefully no problem after the checkup.

There is one guy sent his lens for checkup.. The SWM motor spoiled.. To repair, it cost 500+ excluded labour...

Not a lot have that golden "N"on the lenses. Few of my best guesses would be a Nikon AFS 24-70mm f/2.8, Nikon AFS 105mm f/2.8 or Nikon AFS 60mm f/2.8...

Evening went back to gadget world. Argued i was not made aware that i was buying an AP set. Furthermore now i do not trust Gadget World can rectify my faulty camera.

Finally exchanged with nikon malaysia for extra RM150. Got two nikon malaysia warranty card. one for the body and lens.

Unfortunately at home when i checked the serial no it is a faulty one. Now i have to send it back to nikon malaysia. at least i know nikon will do a good job.

Bru... as far as i know mine was the call back batch.. when i key in the serial no ... they asked me to return for rectification...been using it more than 1 mth with no Problem too but i called up the HQ since i'm nearby ..{my nick told u alridi} and i talked to one of the technician there... giving hell lots of excuse which i the truth anyway... the Camera belongs to my daughter [1st yr Mass Comm student] needs it almost daily for her assignment.... so he told me to bring it to him personally and should not be a problem and get it done ASAP.

So Papa went there .. told the cute 'Ah Chi' there i'll wait for it to b fixed as been told by them within 1hr... i sat there for about 20min... went to Level 8 for cuppa then went back to them again... {in between they noticed i'm indeed a veri busy man wit hell lots of phone calls}
complained about the stores @ Level 8.

and later my staff called me and asked for permission to go for his lunch break .. i told him to wait and won't b long... and later slipped away for lunch wit him @ Old town..... enjoyed another cuppa and bites b4 returning to them to collect my gal's D5000.

i dun want her to get to trouble while using it and i'm not in kl or MY... then cheah lat lor. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif
