how much for 18-200 and 18-270?
Added on May 10, 2009, 3:09 amI eventually ended up returning mine on my Nikon mount. As much as I love the range and optical quality, the indecisive AF is unbearable when it couldn't find focus on a black duck on a pond. from: http://www.flickr.com/groups/tamron18_270/...57609760340855/ This post has been edited by alpha_company: May 10 2009, 03:09 AM |

QUOTE(HiroBoroi @ May 11 2009, 12:52 AM) I think they're worried that some high school kid with third hand D40 and cruddy kit lens may post mind blowing pictures that will spank their D3's silly one of the reason too..btw, i guess just leave all those high end slr threads and keep d60/d40/d40x/d5000 thread separate. I know canon and sony have all in one threads but i need to remind you guys that d60/d40/d40x/d5000 has NO INTERNAL AF MOTOR and thus require a thread of it's own. QUOTE(Firdaus92 @ May 11 2009, 04:02 PM) yes it is true ..but there are still many older stocks available at shops.. it is so very new that nobody even notices. this happens when d5000 came out and nikon malaysia decided to make the 18-55 VR a D5000 kit lens and used the lens that came before VR on the D60. I do need to remind you guys that there are three AF-S 18-55 versions. Those older stocks of D60 comes with VR lens but a normal nikon sling bag if im not mistaken (can anyone confirm about the bag?) Newer d60 models have the previous 18-55 lens that came out before the VR version. but nikon malaysia gave a black leather nikon professional bag. much2 bigger and have a lot of space. some might say this is wrong but i've got the box to prove it. the box states the lens version included. the older stock have the RED VR on top of it. ![]() Added on May 12, 2009, 3:09 am QUOTE(razuryza @ May 11 2009, 04:27 PM) i dont just make accusations without proof. you dont have proof..so u kot yang main cakap This post has been edited by alpha_company: May 12 2009, 03:10 AM |

i say it's new stock because:
1. the shopkeeper told me that their d60 stock finish and just got new stock. he said previously it has VR lens but now don't have anymore. 2. you can ask anybody and they will say that d60 WILL come with 18-55 VR lens. it is just very recently, a few weeks before D5000 comes out, that the new D60 stock arrives with the older 18-55 lens and the 18-55 VR goes to the D5000 kit. 3. you can ask any sellers here in trade zone, and some of them already has the newer stock with the older 18-55 lens + nikon pro leather shoulder bag. 4. yes malaysian d80 kit comes with one 18-135mm lens but in other countries like the US, there are more kit lens options to choose something like Sony Alpha series. 5. There are foreign D60 kits that has two lenses 18-55VR + 55-200 VR if i'm not mistaken. there are also a gold version of D60 that has golden shutter button & also a golden D60 plate in front of the camera. even d90 got different lens package in other countries. 6. if different country punya stock, they won't have warranty by Nikon Malaysia. if different country punya stock, it wont have a warranty card stating "NIKON MALAYSIA" on it. |

QUOTE(omg528 @ May 12 2009, 09:05 AM) if you want to have 10mp camera under 2k. i suggest going for D60. if you want higher flash sync 1/500, then go for D40Either get D40 or D60. If you want D90 kinda performance without internal AF motor, get D5000. but this costs more. Added on May 12, 2009, 2:27 pm QUOTE(JKEC @ May 12 2009, 12:43 PM) juz bought 1 D60 in last week. the new batch of D60 DOESN'T come with VR lens. free with nikon pro bag (big!) & nikon 4GB sd card.. you see razuryza ... see what i mean.and ' or 1=1 -- is right. some even say that even 70mm below dont need VR. and btw, the comparison of the two 18-55 lens are in kenrockwell's page. he tested and said that 18-55 VR is almost exactly the same. It is most useful and significant for 70mm and above. Like 55-200 VR, 18-200VR II, 70-300 VR II. This post has been edited by alpha_company: May 12 2009, 02:27 PM |

QUOTE(JKEC @ May 12 2009, 10:27 PM) alpha.. u r correct. need to google yourself but from what i've read ED II is better than ED.i purchased the new d60 w/ kit lens which is exactly the same pic u posted. i dunno what is ED II means? better? lagi baik? or market strategy from nikon? but from what i've read in kenrockwell's review, VR has the same performance with ED II except when shooting between 1/2 and 1/30 of a second. then VR makes a difference. please refer hto the link below: HERE |

QUOTE(aaron1kee @ May 13 2009, 09:13 AM) what better lens? comparing 18-55 EDII and VR? VR better? plz, if you say VR better, tell me how much better? the "better" part of it is negligible.if i'm comparing nikon 17-55 f/2.8 against 18-55 EDII, it's worth mentioning that the 17-55 is "better". if you compared the normal 55-200 & 55-200VR than it makes a substancial difference. now this is "better". VR is most useful and have a significant role in tele ranges. didnt i say this quite a few times already? This post has been edited by alpha_company: May 14 2009, 01:52 AM |

QUOTE(calvin_gsc @ May 14 2009, 01:18 AM) VR cannot compensate for blur caused from subject movement, only blur cause from camera shake which is the sole purpose of VR. QUOTE(illegaldragon87 @ May 14 2009, 02:00 AM) yup buy a flash stand or just make your own.but here's the problem: 1. Nissin 622 is the only current 3rd party flash that CANNOT work with phottix PT-04II in wireless flash mode. 2. Nissin 622 can work in manual mode and would fire WIRELESSLY ONLY IF u use the built in flash. Point the nissin in the same direction and make sure that the nissin can detect the built in flash fire. THE problem with this method is the picture will almost certainly be overexposed because both the built in flash and nissin firing at the same time. Other flashes like cybertik and falcon eyes can be used with phottix PT04II and dont need to fire the built in flash for the cybertik/falcon eyes to fire. QUOTE(illegaldragon87 @ May 14 2009, 02:46 AM) no need to buy... it comes with the flashgun... n not necessary tat u need to point in the same direction de... u can point the flashgun upwards so it wont make it overexposed.... what i mean by point in the same direction is to make it easier for light sensor detect the built in flash fired.point upwards if you want to use bounce but if high ceiling or no ceiling no use also. and keep in mind that even if you point upwards or whatever, the options for getting the flash you want/like is greatly reduced because pop-up flash still needs to fire and frontal flash fire is unavoidable. i recommend using a diffuser but u really need to try out the angles. sometimes i use a large squared styrofoam for a bounce flash and it does wonders at close range. need to experiment on your own to get the right exposure and angles. "did u know that u can adjust the power of ur pop up flash?" - do i need to scan my manual book with the part containing the subject to you? i know alreadi la.. "u could always set ur popup flash to 1/128..." - u SURE2 ckp and confident u ckp all betul and correct.. muahahaha. wrongo mongo info this is D40/D40x/D60 thread..not D3 or other nikon dslr thread mind you.. "u can always mover the flash away from ur subjects..." - u need to take into consideration the place also. if there's not enough space tell me how u want to do that? come on..want to teach aperture and shutter speed to me and zellleonhart ?...next what..u wanna teach bokeh and dof when changing aperture size? p.s. i dont know everything but at least i dont need to show off "bcoz we rock...we know how to control lightings..."
