There are some quite useful shortcut i've been using, eg. press n hold # button to set silent mode, press and hold * button to switch on bluetooth.

My only problem is, how to prolong the vibration when new message comes in silent mode, u know in silent no sound, so need to rely on vibration.

Hi all...proud owner of Black E71 bought it from cwtan99...still needs to refresh back my memories to use symbian phone coz all tis while i am using SE phone...had installed Garmin ver 5 on my E71 but the when i open the garmin..it will take like forever to get the signal strenght...is there any chance that the reason was due to low battery.....

haha...cant really choose the vibration method unlike Motorola...
btw, pressing '0' at the homescreen for long period will bring up the internet browser...

Hmm i don't think so.. did u select assisted gps. If not go to settings/general/positioning/positioning methods. tick assisted gps

mine is using assisted GPS...my fren also using the same and his signal quality is better then mine..we tested together at the same open space....

Ur friends same phone,telco,garmin version,maps with u? Do u install personal POI into ur garmin? How long is long?

Same phone E71..same version of Garmin...I dunno bout the personal POI ...wats that and how to check...My garmin version is 5.50....same with my fren..i installed it yesterday and he installed it just now by the same installer...

my fren phone took him less than 5 minutes to connect but mine more than tat ...even i had to closed down the application because bored waiting for the connection...

did u enabled the connection?
try look at the top left...there should be a few 'bars' icon...if not, u click there, and then choose 'use internal gps'...

hmm.. Wah 5 minute? Mine only 30 sec max . But it still depend on ur location. Use it the car if heavy tinted will take longer la. so i assume u 2 use the same mapsource right ? Y dont u giv ur phone a full charge 1st then check again. POI is located in ur garmin folder.

hey sifu's out here. i've been trying to search for a RMVB player for this phone on google. downloaded one application tat claims to be RMVB player. but the application cannot be fired up after installation.

appreciate if you all can point me in the right direction to get a RMVB player, if there is such thing la.

Hi Everyone,

I just bought a brand new grey steel 4 days ago from E_trade_PJ and loving the phone every bit.

However I have few problems with the phone already
1. Incoming call the phone just hang
2. Pressing the menu button, the menu will no pop up but some small blank display on the upper right hand corner. Need to restart the phone to solve this. It happen 3X in 4 days.
3. After installing GARMIN ver 5.00.10s60.9, it drains my battery! 1 day 3/4 of the battery is gone with normal use.

Anyone face these problems before and any remedy to solve this?

the garmin drain ur battery life coz there is a background app running even after u exit garmin...
install v5.00.50 and it is disabled by default...

answer for no3. - you need to use JbakTaskman to terminate the TSRautostart process and from your garmin folder, delete these two files :

\sys\bin\CardRunner.dll
\resource\plugins\CardRunner.RSC

Terminate also no much use... It will pop out back in a couple minute or hour.. Best way is to upgrade to version 5.0.4 above and disable it using garmin software.

today when i was at Sunway Mentari. i can see my reception bar going up n down like see-saw. then it kept switching between 2.5G and 3.5G

then i could feel my phone was damn hot, and then i couldn't receive calls/sms and couldn't make any calls/sms.

i off-on the phone again then it went back to normal.

could this be because the network was fluctuating that caused the phone to kinda hang?
