1.8" SSD will not be a drop-in replacement for the HDD. You need to get a SATA to micro-SATA adaptor and the 2.5" case for it too. Yes, you can clone the HDD to SSD and when done, you can just plug in the SSD to replace the HDD.

multiplexer, do you feel the vibration? Somehow, on my old end-2006 MBP, using the same Hitachi 7200rpm/500GB, I couldn't feel it .. but on my mid-2010 .. the vibration is terrible..

All harf drive will vibrate one way or another as you talking about spindle spinning at thousands round per minutes. The reason you don't felt it in the non unibody model is because the inner structure are in separate pieces. Each and every frame/ parts/ screws help to absorb the vibration. On the unibody structure is much minimal and the drive is almost directly attached to the casing, under the palmrest. Hence you will felt the vibration more drastic.

Haha, can vouch on this one .. my desktop is on SSD, my ex-MBA (now wifey's) also on SSD but after swapping with my wife's MBP .. feel the MBP was damn slow, so, upgraded that MBP to SSD too ..

If it is hardware RAID (RAID card), then you need to refer to the manufacturer about the support.

i took the plunge for a Mac Mini Base model...
now i m thinking of sumbat-ing an SSD inside the Mac Mini...
before i decide on which model...
The SATA inside Mac mini is the SATA III 6Gbps rite?
So it can fully utilize a Vertex III or equivalent rite?
