pansonic only have colour temperature control but hidden in the service menu.

You still need a colorimeter to do full CMS adjustment and greyscale adjustment. It's not for an average joe to do the tuning and can screw up the setting.

I agree, adjustments in the service menu should be done only if u know what u r doing. Adjusting the wrong item can cause damage to ur set. Also adjustments of grayscale and colour as well as gamma can only be done with a colorimeter or a spectrophotometer.

I got one yesterday...how to check the counter...coz i feel that my unit is display set.
The packing look like been opened before when delivered to me.
When i call to the shop, it say they open up to ramdom check it. See got cracks or any thing wrong with the unit.
They say it is 100% not display set... but i dun quite believe.

The counter means numbers of times "on" the plasma set or how many hours?

Please help.

Thanks.

Check out the Panasonic PV80 thread, the last few pages has the instructions. The X10 employes the same method to check the hours.

I don't think so, X10 doesn't even have PIP mode.

Even if the TV can split screen, you can't watch 2 different Astro programmes if you only have 1 decoder.

There will be a possibility of IR on plasma since she is Astro fanatic as reported by phat_newbie on his Pana plasma tv. Plasma tv cld last up to 100,000hours according to Panasonic website. You may find out the details there.

LCD TV would be better choice but ghosting might be an issue. Moreover, there are rare cases where IR happened too.

Thanks bro, i tried and everything work fine. Only problem i face is i can't press the "on" on plasma to quit.
(I have to switch off the TV set and on back)
And i also got the information i need.
Total time is 78 mins and counts = 25!!!

Which mean the set i got is not a new one. The most i on n off the TV set 5 times.

Yes, i have to agreed the shop give me a very good price.
It is RM33xx with free gift w/ 3 yrs warranty or RM35xx with free gifts w/ 5 yrs warranty.

Anyway, i hv call up the shop and the first time he told me it is 100% new but promise he will check with his HQ.
The second time he call, i told him i manage to get in the service manual and told him about the time n count.
Quickly he told me he not sure what the HQ have done and he will call to ask his big boss.

Lastly, today he call and say he agreed to change a new set for me and meanwhile ask me to use this set first.
I will update the status here when i got the new one.

Thanks for everyone help...btw this plasma is really good n i like it very much!
