Anyone able to help me with Boot Camp? I tried Partition my drive but the system told me to format my drive to Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
May I know what can I do to continue my step to install Windows by solving this Partition error I am having?

Thank you manual partition using disk utlility or using boot camp assistant? the boot camp partition format shouldn't matter. you're gonna format it to NTFS using the windows installer anyway QUOTE(brucesss @ Nov 16 2011, 01:46 PM) is it true that parallel desktop spoils ur macbook.. some ppl in epi center said so.. true? LOL i wonder where that epicentre fellow get that sort of idea. if it were true, parallel sure out of business already

well yes it's a heavy task but... if u dont want to run heavy task, why not just buy a netbook then most electronics are like this. even if u do ur best to take care of it, there's still a chance it'll die on u in 2-3 years. im not saying they will, but it wont be a surprise. i also wont be surprised if a mac can last 7-8 years having running parallel every single day the only way is to buy a gadget, n never open the box. like that sure can last decades. the way i see it, u already spent ur money on a mac, so make full use of it. and parallels opens up ur mac to so many windows-exclusive softwares, it's really like having a 2nd computer. This is due to the data that is written to the Hard Disk is all over the place. Get a program to defrag the hard disk and you are good to go.

Just started using PD7 yesterday and loving it. Previously using BC, found it to be a bit slow since I'm primarily using it for Windows Live Writer, editing blog and managing photos seemed to be slow and sometimes lag.
Now with PD7, it's much faster and I thought it's quite a bargain since they having the promo until Nov 30th PST.

Hi few question here. I'm new to Mac.
1) After install windows 7 using bootcamp can I remove the windows as my MacBook Pro is running on 4Gb RAM <-- Got the answer from google.
2) As long as I don't launch the boot camp no windows 7 running on background it won't affect my RAM usage am i right?
3) Lastly is Boot camp free? I just launch Bootcamp assistant from utilities then install that's it? My only cost is the windows 7 license am I right?
Just wondering if Boot Camp is free why people still buying PD7 that cost not cheap.
Thanks everyone.

Thanks everyone. 1) If you use bootcamp and boot up into MacOSX, Win7 code won't be executed .. hence, it doesn't affect anything on your RAM. 2) Yes, bootcamp is free and the only thing you need to pay is the win7 license. 3) We use virtualmachine (PD7 or Fusion etc) because we want to run both OSX alongside with Win7. With bootcamp, you need to reboot each time you want to use either OSX or Win7.
