I bought a Promo Biz class ticket in June 2012, and specifically ask whether i can change the return date or not, as its few months away and i cant confirm, so i just pick the nearest date that i will return to KL.. and the lady on the phone told me as long as i fulfill my flying out date, return date can be change without any penalty. So I'm happy with her answer and paid for the ticket.
So I fly out as stated on the ticket, no issue, and recently i realised i need to go back to KL a day earlier, so I called and ask to change for the date i needed, to my surprise i was asked to pay for the penalty (RM200) and fare difference (RM2000+) and of course I'm furious as im not told when i bought the ticket, actually im alright to pay for the penalty, but not the fare difference. I tried to explain to the lady on the phone that i wasnt made known on this penalty thingy and she told me my ticket is a promo biz class ticket and this is the money i need to pay if i want to change. So I told her i specifically asked for this clause when i bought my ticket few months back and requested that they trace the call as im very sure i was misinformed. She agreed to investigate and will let me know the outcome. As normal procedure, i guess i should be given a case no or someone that i can call to check with to know the status of the investigation, and this lady, i think she's very frus with me asking her to investigate and quite rude to me saying she will call me on the case status, but i insisted to get a case no or someone i can refer to if she never call me back.
Waited for few days and no call back (no surprise) and thinking back she's really rude to me (doesnt let me explain myself and keep barging me, until i've to say, are you finish and can i talk now) so I lodged a complaint on MAS website..I know its a Promo Biz class ticket, but she should not be so rude to me..i mean even if its an economy ticket, i should not be receiving that kind of treatment..
After few days of the complaint, i got an email from MAS saying they will waived all the penalties and allow me to change the ticket. which i did not expect it as I just want to voice out the rude treatment i received and am happy to wait for the investigation outcome, as im very sure i was misinformed.
Anyway, I am happy with the outcome since i can change the ticket to the date i wanted..
 Were both the penalty and fare difference waived?

yes, and im surprised with that. as i do not expect any waiver at all, i just want to complain coz of the rude treatment. Hmm!! Pretty sure it was u MAS lost your luggage on flight KUL to SIN. You have the same nick with the complainant. Added on December 18, 2012, 11:24 amyou sure its me ? this is my 1st complain to MAS, as its my 1st business class ticket.. previously all my tick are just economy :-) [/quote]

i dont see my nick there.. thanks for pointing to the topic, quite an interesting read.. as long as your complain are reasonable, im pretty sure MAS will do something about it.. like for my case, im not expecting anything from them (mayb an apology) for the rude treatment.. but not the fees waiver.. im happy with how they handle my case.. how strict is MAS when it comes to domestic flight with 23kg check-in luggage???

Not strict if flight not full. I commute every 3 mths KL to BKI. Sometimes my luggage comes up to 25kg & they just close their eyes. Unless if the fight is full, then they will charge but u can always ask for discount. So instead of charging you 5kg, (mine usually exceed to 25kg), they will charge 2kg or 3kg only. disappointed with MAS stewardess attitude and hospitality they provide, my family was flying to melbourne with MAS, then my sis was pressing the buzzer button to request for something but after some time nobody came so my sis decided to went over to them. right after they saw my sis one of the stewardess replied to another colleague of her saying "tu dia datang jugak sendiri tak yah kita pergi sana jauh jauh" something about it i cant recall the whole sentence the stewardess said. my sis herself also a stewardess was so shocked that the stewardess said such thing because if a complaint were filed definitely they are gonna get in trouble.
