Added on July 28, 2010, 2:47 pmYes, u need to pay the tax at any Indonesia airport departing outbound.

QUOTE(luvjim @ Jun 7 2010, 07:26 PM)
Hi, anyone know if coming back from Denpasar to KLIA do I need to pay the extra tax to the Indonesia Immigration there?
Coz when I check the MAS flight ticket, the total fare is already include the tax.

But for AirAsia, they did not include the tax on the flight fare..but need to pay to the Immigration at Denpasar.

I confuse. rclxub.gif

My dear, no need to go to KL Sentral. You can also chk in via the web. Just go to MAS website. You can see the web chk in menu and print your boarding pass. On the day of your departure, you just put your bag at the chk in counter and show your boarding pass. Very quick one. I did that also many times. If you go to KL Sentral for chk in,it is compulsory to buy KL Express train ticket. I'm a MAS frequent travellers.

Low season they will reduce their price. But as the date comes nearer, the price will increase too though not much. I've been travelling with MAS for many years and monitoring the prices goes and up down. June-Aug is peak season. So book your ticket while the price is still low. If you book several days or even later on the same day it may increase again.

QUOTE(cenkudu @ May 27 2011, 08:21 PM)
plan to book ticket for this coming 24th June (domestic flight). few days ago the fare is RM109 now goes to RM 129..what is the pattern the price will keep increasing or any possibility the price will reduce. how this best fare works

I went back home to KK mid May. Flight at 10pm with 28 passengers on board. The flight basically empty but still have to fly. Upon returning to KL, the flight is super full. No seat available at all. Maybe this can counter their loss on their empty flight. Sometimes if they have 02 flights leaving 2 hours difference but both flight is not full they will combine to 1 departure. But this apply to domestic only. Not sure on international.

QUOTE(DikkieD @ May 30 2011, 10:36 AM)
Last week we went to check in my sis in law at MAS KLIA. They told us only 60 seats were taken on that Tuesday flight to Amsterdam. I was pretty much shocked that an airline refures to put prices down, but does fly with only this low amount of passengers.

Next to that I read that prices are not coming down because of the bad results due to rise in oil prices.

With 60 people flying you do not make any money at all right?

That's very unusual. I am a frequent traveller with MAS and everytime they make announcement they will asked passengers to fasten the seat belt due to bad weather. Also they will announce passengers are not allowed using the toilet until further announcement being made. Hot drinks will not be serve for safety reason.

Just came back to KL by MAS last Monday.

QUOTE(vermins @ Aug 25 2011, 10:03 PM)
Traveled by MAS again today, KUL - BKK flight.

Not to say its disrupting or annoying, nor will it deter me from flying MAS again. But in light of the issues MAS seems to be having atm, thought I'd share this.

On my flight, there was some bad weather going on. And naturally, the fasten seat belt indicator came on including an announcement that only said to fasten your seat belt, but nothing about the weather. And from my experience of traveling by air, this indicator and announcement pretty much meant that you should fasten your seatbelt when seated. And were free to utilize the toilet still.

After being served my in-flight meal, I proceeded to the toilet and as I was about to open the toilet door, a stewardess stopped me with a glare and said there was bad weather and I have to return to my seat and seatbelt up.

With that, I had two problems there.

1) A crew glared at me.
What happened to service with a smile?
Not to say she was VERY rude. But politeness and or friendliness was rather far from it.

2) There was no announcement that the toilets could not be used.
People were still getting up and getting bags from the overhead compartment and they weren't stopped. Just people trying to use the toilet.

Seeing this drop in quality of service from MAS, is of no surprise they are having troubles with debt.

I am a frequent traveller with MAS. For stuff like camera, laptop,pc they are quite lenient. Once I took my CPU with me to the cabin and they are fine with that. I wrapped the CPU with plastic wrapper from KLIA and handcarry to the cabin from KL to KK. At that time, I have laptop with me.

5cm difference is ok. Not much .As long as the luggage is not too heavy.

QUOTE(Calvin Seak @ Sep 20 2011, 05:11 AM)
Is mas strict with their carry on luggage??

I only see 5kg allowed which is prett little for me.. The problem is My bag will fit dslr, lenses and my laptop...

Will they exclude the weight??

And I have another problem with the dimension.. Total dimension of the bag is 120cm whereby the website only allow 115cm and below, I have friends who used this bag for carry ons an it fits the over head cabin but none have flied with mas so far unfortunately..

Do advice!

Thank you very much!

Not really. I flew from Perth last year by MAS. I have this small hand carry bag. The bag is heavy and I am sure it was more than 5kg but probably due to the size of the bag, they let me go. I take 1 hand luggage and 1 laptop with me to the cabin.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Sep 21 2011, 02:03 AM)
very strict if you're flying from australia. the ground handlers at perth forced me to check in my bag even though it was only 6kg

u can chk in 48 hours before the flight depart via online or self chk in kiosk at KLIA.

QUOTE(yyun09 @ Oct 12 2011, 02:53 PM)
Hi,

Any idea whether the MAS check in counter opens 24 hours? We'll be arriving at KLIA from BKK at 0040hrs 21/10, and for us to check-in to the hotel, we need to get international boarding pass. However our flight time is 1400hrs 21/10. How early can we check in? If check in already, can drop the luggage only after I check out from the Airside hotel? Bit blur 'cos it's been 10 years since i depart/arrive @ KLIA due to using Airasia frequently. Anyone can advise on this?

Thanks

As long as there's a departure and arrival flight, the counter will still open. If I am not mistaken, there's an 2-3am departure flight daily from KLIA. Maybe you can call KLIA Info centre to chk about this. Number is 03-87764389.

QUOTE(yyun09 @ Oct 12 2011, 03:19 PM)
I was told by the hotel that I need to get my web check-in boarding pass endorsed (to get verification of my travel documents) which requires me to still go to the MAS check-in counter sad.gif If I can't get the boarding pass, then we'll not be able to sleep well. We have a very long journey to go and time is spent most on traveling and journey itself which takes up to 2 days. I emailed MAS but havent receive reply =_=.

Anyone stay at Airside Transit hotel before?

Dear, I need some info before I post here. Your flight from BKK to KLIA is on MAS. What about your international flight?? Is it by MAS also??

What time is your international flight?? If you take both MAS from BKK to KLIA and to your international flight, you can actually chk in in Bangkok and get your both boarding pass i.e BKK to KLIA and KLIA to your next destination. You can even chk in your luggage all the way. But you must tell the people in BKK counter that you will chk in for your international flight as well so that they will give 02 boarding pass.

My suggestion is to try to chk in from BKI for your BKI/DXB sector. You do web chk in first and get your KUL/DXB boarding pass verify at BKI airport because I don't think BKI airport can issue boarding pass depart from KLIA.

QUOTE(yyun09 @ Oct 12 2011, 03:43 PM)
Hi,

I realized i got mixed up with BKI and BKK. sorry. it's BKI and not BKK.

My flight arrival from BKI is using firefly on 21 October 1240am.
My departure to DXB is using MAS. My international flight is at 200pm the same day I arrive.

Will it also apply if i'm using Firefly at BKI and can ask them to check in for my international flight to DXB at BKI?

Sorry, was bit mixed up with BKK and BKI.

Regards

BKI airport will not issue boarding pass for KUL/DXB sector. That is why I told u to web chk in and get your boarding pass verify at BKI airport incase you couldn't get it verify in KLIA.

QUOTE(yyun09 @ Oct 12 2011, 04:08 PM)
The first ticket to KUL is issued by Firefly.
The second ticket to DXB is issued by MAS.

However if there's self check in kiosk at BKI airport, i can give a try to check in since it's within 48 hours from the time of departure.

In my case, they credited 3000 point for my enrich card. But it was KK to KL flight. I misssed my 6am flight (overslept. heheehhe) and have to take 830am flight ( I had to pay additional RM250). But my luggage arrived on later flight. I filed in a complaint and wait for my luggage to arrive. Several weeks later I received an apology email from MAS with 3000 point credited to my enrich card member.

BTW, I think this annielee is the same girl who complained about MAS not a long ago. It was quite an explosive issue. This forum was kinda on fire biggrin.gif

QUOTE(Putraskyline @ Dec 5 2012, 11:44 AM)
When I write feedbacks about something to MAS, they always compensate something in term Enrich Points as their service recovery. My last feedback is about flight from KUL-Male, they give me 15k Enrich.

Yeah, I agree with you on this. Not complaint just for the sake of complaining.

[quote=annielee,Dec 18 2012, 03:32 PM]
i dont see my nick there..
thanks for pointing to the topic, quite an interesting read..

as long as your complain are reasonable, im pretty sure MAS will do something about it..

like for my case, im not expecting anything from them (mayb an apology) for the rude treatment..
but not the fees waiver.. im happy with how they handle my case..
that one is

Not strict if flight not full. I commute every 3 mths KL to BKI. Sometimes my luggage comes up to 25kg & they just close their eyes. Unless if the fight is full, then they will charge but u can always ask for discount. So instead of charging you 5kg, (mine usually exceed to 25kg), they will charge 2kg or 3kg only.

RM15 or RM18 per kg. I don't remember exactly the amount but it is within the range. I remember I had to pay 6kg for my 10kg excess luggage early this year.

QUOTE(TSOM @ Dec 25 2012, 03:56 PM)
How much is it for 1 way KL-KK for 1kg excess baggage??
