Not to say that, you can still have a very smooth and stable system without those BSOD/corrupted registry for your daily usage like surfing, documentation, entertainment etc...

And not to mention the fast bootup and shut down which I really love compared to my windows PC..

and does it means that if im not into graphics designing / movie making those , imac doesnt do much for me ? lol
*
what i mean was strictly about GPU power. meaning if u're gonna need a lot of gpu-intensive stuff, a PC might be a better deal. but with imac, u get a more stable system, plus a very good display. how to do graphic designing if ur own display cannot product accurate colours right? u see different colour, people see different colour

one thing i dun like about macs = dun have physical dvd eject button sad.gif always got them stuck inside.. not only *ahem* verisons

Yea the best is just wait till the month of June/July before getting an iMac... At least if by that time there are no upgrades, then can surely go ahead and get 1 =)

buying rm4k stuff also u prefer to buy from stranger instead of go to a shop?

there's no pirated Macs. look for unboxing photos online to see how they're packaged, must be the same. the MBP itself should be in a cloth envelope thing, sealed with a white sticker. chargers are wrapped in clear plastic.

all MBPs have 1 year international warranty, so wherever u bought it from, u shud be able to send it for service anywhere in the world.

@dvlz Yea there will be a risk lo... Cause no one knows right? So its up to the buyer to decide =)

@cottonkandy If you going to get a 2nd hand macbook from a forumer then shouldnt be a problem but if you are getting a new one, I suggest you to go and get it from online store with education discount only RM3599.. Or if you want apple retail store for RM3899... Shouldnt be any fake MBPs around... If its new everything will be wrapped nicely if its 2nd hand, try to ask about its warranty expiry date, check for dents, etc... The best if the seller has the reciept..

yep couldnt agree more. get MBP + external screen for portability..

booting time is very subjective matter, but it really depends on the HDD.

Hi guys, just received my MBP yesterday morning. I'm facing a problem to get my MBP online, I'll explain the situation in detailed and hope someone can help me.. I connect my MBP to my home network which is using a Aztech wireless modem router, aside that there're also 2 other lappy which is connected to it. Alright, so there's no issue when I connect to the network, but if I open Safari and start to go to any website, the wireless modem router will get disconnected to the internet. But if the 2 lappy arent connect to the wireless modem router, I'll be able to surf the net without disconnecting. From my point of view, its the Aztech wireless modem router's problem right?

Looking at that, I suspect the IP address for your laptops are conflicting each other... Im not really that expert in router problems.. Maybe you could head down to the Hardware Questions & Answers to get in detail..

Hi , I'm new to Mac , one stupid question here .
The current Mac OSX includes iPhoto 09 , iMovie09 , iWeb09 and etc , let say if the 2010 version comes out in future , is it possible to direct upgrade from 09 to 2010 version ? Or have to buy the latest full version to install as currently I can't find any upgrade version of iLife 09?

@bruncit,
Er.. Mac's not compatible with what?!  And what spare parts are you referring to?!  I doubt you'll have much problems; more and more people seem to be shifting over to Macs of late tongue.gif

I'll say go ahead and get urself a Mac; provided you're not planning to use it as a gaming rig biggrin.gif
*
i also have the same wonder as bruncit..i planning to get a new laptop and macbook is 1 of my choice, other than that i also consider dell..but well i wan i multi task lappie for web browsing, video music and some coll stuff. my main priority is around 13-14 inch light and also long battery life because i already have a desktop and a gaming 17 inch vaio laptop. so do u think macbook is a good choice? but i heard that u will need to spend a lot on the software? can't mac use pirated stuff? and most of the software and programs that can be use in mac? like c programming? words ? excel and power point..?
