leopard is the current OS... the new one is Snow Leopard.. ;p

if u order now, u will likely get snowleopard anyway, so no worries about that. as for the ipod touch, yes there should be a new one coming out next month, but then IT'S NOT FREE so go ahead with the offer. even if u decided u wanna buy the new 3rd-gen touch, juz sell off the free one to get some extra cash

if TS dont need firewire port then go for macbook white. sure firewire is good, but drives with firewire are expensive. if u move large files only once in a while, juz be patient a bit. target disk mode is a very handy feature but its not like we use it every month (if at all). since the screen of the MB is the same as the 13" MBP, i'd say get the MB

in my opinion, invest with protection stuff (casing, screen protectors, invisible shield) BEFORE getting ACPP. ACPP can wait 1 year, doesnt make a difference if u buy now or 11 months later. but in that 1 year, u might get scratches or blemishes. the technical parts are already under warranty when u buy it, but no one's gonna do anything if u get scratches. so protect the stuff that isn't protected yet

yes yes yes of course the i7 is faster but the i5 is already very capable. with that radeon HD 4850 pumping nice graphics for that 27-inch, who can say no??

sell the lx3 for 1k (i think that's a good price...plus this model is selling like hot cakes), so u'll have 8k. minus 2.4k for the GF1 then u'll have 5.6k to get the 5.3k model with HD 4670

yes the HD 4670 is a lot faster than the 9400M. it'd do u much good for ur video editing.

oops sorry i misread u, gf1 is 2.8k hehe. i wanted to ask u the same thing as well

if that's the case then u'll need rm800 more (the 5.3k imac has an edu price of 5k). part-time job? hehe. or maybe after u buy the imac (n before the gf1) u can sell the 1tb hdd n get something smaller?

yeah the GF1 is a good choice 4 u. maybe u can think abt the EP1 since its slightly cheaper...but then GF1 has better value ;p

not much kuching peeps here, haha. anyway nothing wrong with selling internal hdd, but imac is quite hard to open. maybe the GF1 has to wait...juz shoot stills with ur LX3 in the mean time hehe. IMO dont pass up the radeon GPU

well good video gear doesnt come cheap... even the GF1 still got limitation...live focusing is not that good unless u use panasonic HD lens. n u're still stuck with mono microphone .

still happy with my lx3 hehe. i dont use the video function though ;P

u can upgrade to 4gb RAM. u can even configure it to 4gb at the online store.

yes u can output to VGA, but u'll need a mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter

designer got so many types leh . if juz 2D the macbook (or the 13" and low-end 15" MBP) should do fine. if u do 3D modelling, the 15" MBP with geforce 9600m GT is a safer bet. we can help u btter if u tell us more on what do u expect from ur computer. n ur budget of course.

juz bcuz he definitely needs windows doesnt mean he'll only use windows. i still need windows for engineering applications, but for anything else i use OSX

TS, i cant imagine going into uni without a notebook. u'll need to bring around ur computer for group discussion, do reports/study at the library n stuff. get the macbook. n no discussion about non-ori software here please

how long are you willing to wait? there's a pretty high chance that the core i5 and i7 chips will start to show up in MBPs in jan/feb, but for the 13" MBP not so sure.

juz buy now then dont go to any apple-related website

i dont think macbook will get a refresh. of course, no one here knows when got update...but if waiting 1 or 2 months isnt an issue, i suggest u wait

either way the iMac screen is IPS and personally i think that's the best value. looks a lot better than other run of the mill 21" inch monitor. plus u get a really nice mouse to boot.

of course, if u dun care abt a better screen, wireless keyboard n mouse, n dun mind a lower speed.. then the mac mini is for u. the price difference can fund something else

and it's Adobe Dreamweaver now by the way heheh, where got macromedia anymore since u mentioned photography, ur photos will look damn good on the iMac's IPS display! Anyway I'd recommend adobe Lightroom to edit ur photos...much simpler to use, although PS has much more features.

the first few weeks might be hard for you if u're too used to windows, but juz read around the internet n have a look at the videos at apple.com website if u face any trouble. if still cant find, juz ask here.

no you cannot upgrade the graphic card yourself. it doesnt use graphic 'cards' in the 1st place, juz the chips.

500GB vs 1TB hard drive only u can decide. 21" or 27" also u decide obviously the bigger the better, but it's a question of money

for the 21", just ask urself if u want/need the Radeon. what do you expect to do with the iMac? for most tasks the 9400M is already pretty good (most of the time i juz use the 9400M ). u'll juz need the Radeon for gaming and serious 3D stuff.

having said that, i'm not sure if the Radeons will work with OpenCL :S but this doesnt matter today
