I've no idea if they're cheaper there in Singapore, you need to remember that you'll paying a GST .. but could always claim it back at Changi.

On warranty wise, Apple warranties are usually international (except for iPhone). So no problem there.. this is from my personal experience when I brought back my MBP from UK.

You need to claim it at Changi Airport and I've no idea if you can claim the GST when buying from online store. More info here:

http://www.customs.gov.sg/leftNav/trav/Tou...fund+Scheme.htm

In there, there is a refund form that you need to fill in and endorsed by the retailer. I have no idea how you gonna do this if you buy it online.

Once upon a time, Singapore was a shopping heaven for Malaysians .. now it is the other way around. Singaporeans are coming here to do their shopping .. only few items that are hard to find in Malaysia are worth buying there.

Hi. I'm interested in purchasing a MBP with installment for my sister who is currently in ALevels. As I know, I could only find edu price on website. From previous post stated that using Citibank card, it is able to do installment. My question is

1. Other than citibank card what other card can be use to purchase edu price MBP with installment?
2. What is the installment plan? 12 months or 24?
3. Does anyone know if there is installment plan for 24 months?

Thanks for your kind guidance.

Yes you can called up your credit card bank and ask for installment for the purchase of your macbook. If not mistaken Ive called citibank and they said yes they do provide but with a one time deal handling fee of 3% and they will convert it to 12 months installment plan.

Online apple doesnt offer installment plans for credit cards in Malaysia afaik. So you have to call your credit card bank and ask before purchasing. Other than Citibank, there many others who offers the same such as Maybank, CIMB, Eon Bank etc just call them and ask.

If Im not mistaken CIMB (direct access credit card users) they have 3 types of installment plans. 10 months (2% fee), 20 monhts (4% fee) & 30 months (forgotten).

Hope this helps.

one question here, is Mini Displayport to VGA adapter the only choice for us to connect mbp to projector for presentation ? I saw some reviews stating that not all projectors are compatible using that adapter... And that adapter especcially doesnt work well with samsung products.

Are there alternatives adapter besides the apple one ?

there's a good reason for the Core 2 Duo. if apple's claims are true, the Nvidia 320M shud be a great GPU. IMO its a better combination than juz having core i5 + intel GMA HD. core i3 isn't a huge deal

but rm3899 is a bargain dude. that 2.4Ghz proc is from last year's rm7199 MBP 15", which was almost double the price but had half the RAM. obviously the 13" is smaller and no dedicated GPU la, but i still think 3899 is a good bargain smile.gif

not sure about any problems with the models, but chances are they're gonna do fine. the hardware is pretty much proven stuff already, the only new thing in it is the 320M

Thanks for your update and reply. I shall check with CIMB then!

Actually I have been thinking which model of 13" to purchase 4899 or 3899, with 1000 difference I could actually purchase Apple Care and some Accessories

i think la, i think the 2.4Ghz one can only go to 6gb RAM. the 2.66 can go up to 8gb. maybe u want to factor that into ur decision making smile.gif

Hmm, I was just wondering, how much should I expect if I am to let go of a 15" MacBookPro4,1? It's the model before the glossy screen and the last model with the silver keypads.

I've been a mac user for almost 1 year and I'm kinda happy with my macbook pro. I want to recommend my sister a macbook pro but I dont know which model should I choose for her..

Should I get her the 13' macbook pro with core 2 duo or the 15' with core i5? She mostly do:
-video editing
-drawing
-photoshop
-animation

my budget around RM 4000 - 8000++
