Most of the time they don't give much discount at PC Fair, but they add some of goodies eg. RAM, thumb drive etc..

u think we dont compare price? tongue.gif not all of us here are rich...and a lot of us here were windows users too including me..

obviously we want speed from our computers. but then specs is not the only thing that determines ur productivity speed (this, coming from an ex-overclocker tongue.gif). for example, i find expose and spaces combined with hot corners very useful to do my work. any windows7 with monster specs will never beat that. even opening and ejecting USB drives is faster.

not to mention the amount of time u saved NOT dealing with defrag, disk scan, antivirus updates n scans, other malware protection, horrible network setup, useless troubleshooting 'guide', individually updating drivers, n lots more~

another is the total amount of $ u spend on softwares. a lot of functions is already built into OSX, plus u get iLife for free too.

Yup..that's also my reasons why I'm using Mac 10 years ago, but believe me last time if the PowerPC platform is a successful platform with better R&D, then we'll have better performance Mac nowday.

Hi , i am sure Imac will be coming with a new version pretty soon . As you see the they have just upgrade their MacbookPro and Mac Mini . For my prediction , they might gonna release a More Powerful IMAC ( maybe with a better graphic card and additional integrated features for imac ? who knows , apple's marketing is mysterious anyway...

According for my personal experience , Apple will update their product every one - two years time. and yet everything had been upgraded but Except our mighty IMAC  biggrin.gif I believe it is worth of waiting for the new one,  highly potential new IMAC gonna be introduce within next few months. <---- my 2 cents. cheers tongue.gif

Or if you don't mind since the i7 iMac is about to touch the region of single processor Mac Pro, might as well settle down with it..for your info the Nahelem Xeon is about the same function of Core i7, where it have Turbo-Boost function.
