It's a private school... And I must get a Macbook, not Windows. If it asked me to get one, why would I post this? Anyway, old Macbook Pro Santa Rosa 2.1 ghz comes with X1600, and old MBP SR 2.5 ghz comes with 8600M GT.
Any idea? still can't get a clear answer..

Hey guys, I'm looking to sell my Macbook because i want to get a Macbook pro 13".
It's still in great condition (except for a flimsy 'H' key) and has 4GB of RAM and is on Snow Leopard.
Any idea where would be the best place to post about this?
Thanks! smile.gif

wow got school require students to get macbook? ohmy.gif

i'd recommend u get MBP with 8600 because it's newer... dunno if u can get the x1600 models in good shape today

btw the x1600 models are using core duo (i cant recall there was a santa rosa version). 8600 is using core 2 duo. price difference between the two models shouldnt be much i assume

also try to get the 8600 model that comes with LED backlit display (shud be the penryns), cuz the previous screens doesnt look good after a while. also u might wanna set aside some cash for a new battery

BUT THEN: why dont u juz get a brand new macbook white?

I'm having the same problem, i'm purchasing on behalf of my younger sister who is only studying in Form4 this year. nod.gif
The terms and conditions as regards to eligibility of the education discount says that one has to a student of a "Higher Education Institution in Mlsia"
http://store.apple.com/Catalog/Singapore/Images/tcMYedu.htm

So i'm wondering if she qualifies for the discount. =/ I'm a student doing A levels in Taylors college, so i dont think even i qualify for the discount. Since i'm only at the Pre-U phase and not Higher Education yet. hmm.gif

Can someone please clarify? biggrin.gif

Hey all Apple owners out here in LYN..

Just wanna ask..i felt like buying a MacBook..but i think the price is abit too high, but it's just so damn stylish and is running a MAC OSX

So,just a small suggestions...should i get the MacBook or just get some normal types of laptop eg.HP,Dell

people always said EXPENSIVE since they are comparing "specs to specs" ..

So you're buying the mac cos it's stylish? Like following the trend? I guess a lot of 'em out there get macbooks just to follow the trend and underestimate the power of it.

Ask yourself the reason behind of getting a mac? smile.gif The softwares are expensive and limited (unless you know where to find).

We have to compare apple to apple, there is no way Dell,HP, Toshiba and etc... can compete with a MAC way too far from it although you might get a cheaper price with the same specs but as what "Zemmien" said.. *I reckon* is really worth the price...
smile.gif cheers buddy...

urm i think your question is too general. why do you want to buy the mac for? for work purposes or just cos its 'stylish'? mac os do offer alot of softwares that windows platform do. so do consider that before posting such a question bro.
cheers!
